Keep up the good tea drinking gang!!!! I'm feeling a bit better, still drinking my echinacea (not tree bark, but flower roots, LOLOLOL) with my green and raspberry syrup. Gotta go make another cup right NOW.

| My whole family has been sick this last week and I've only felt fatigued. They are all blowing their noses, sore throats and having a temperature. I've been coughed on even but still feeling pretty good. Thank God for tea! |

| I had a nice cup of the Bigelow Vanilla Caramel. It is only good properly sweetened. Not too much.....not too little. Wanto.....ummm.....I looked up Kahlua (womenfitness.net) and it says it has 11.3 carbs per ounce. Are you using the real thing? Or a Kahlua flavored sugar-free syrup? I just remember having some Kahlua and cream thing a few years ago and it was sweet (and quite tasty!) so I was concerned. That's alot of carbs for a cup of tea!

| I've got some DaVinci's sf Kahlua syrup. It's good. I didn't have nearly as much tea as I usually have. I drink it with cream, and I think that might be a stall for me. So, if I drink more, it will be creamless (arrrggghhh!) However, I will still enjoy the tea naked. (Not me naked! The tea! The tea!) I will be sure to have at least on cup of a soothing tea, with cream, before bed.

| Hi, I have a question. Does decaf Green tea have the same benefits as regular green tea? Thanks, Nancy |

| Nan, YES, the weight loss effects are the same with caf or decaf. Are you joining us on the Greentea Train??? Welcome aboard!!!! I went shopping this morning and found a discount aisle with that silicone baking stuff on sale. They had one of those little gripper thingies that you can grab hot pans out of the oven with. I thought, while brewing my tea today, I bet I can use it to squeeze my tea bags with. WOOHOO, it works GREAT!!! I used to have a little plastic bag squeezer from tupperware and I must have thrown it out when I was cleaning drawers one day, thinking, "I never use this, out it goes." Wish I kept it, but oh well, now I have my silicone one. :jumpgreen

| Yes, Barb, I will join you. While living in Japan for a few years I loved attending tea ceremonies. I even have a few old tea bowls and a whisk! I can't remember the exact procedure how it's done and I don't think I could comfortably sit on my legs the way I used to! But I will put the teapot on for a cuppa right now. My 5 yo has a friend over and I am enjoying this cold day inside indulging my new low carb lifestyle! Nan I hope my icons show up-if not I cut and pasted incorrectly. I'll wait for my 15 yo to get home who has her own blog.

| Nan, I tried to fix your icons, but the text box didn't show them. I think what you need to do is put image tags around them, thusly: at the beginning put a [img] and at the end put a [/img]. That might fix it. I'll try going into your CP account and see what you did.

| I thought I would tell you about a wonderful Korean tea I just found in my cupboard which was recommended to me by the lady at the Korean grocery store. It is called Pochun Polygonatum Tea (Solomon's Seal Root). Has anyone tried it? Nan

| Ok I've been looking everywhere for info on barley tea. In the DANDR book under drinks it has Herbal teas are permited (without barley or fruit sugar added) I'm assuming that means that there is a barley sugar? I don't know but what I've read so far is that there are no carbs in it. You will fall in love with this tea. No need for any sweetners. My kids say it taste like coffee... I think that comes with the fact that it is toasted. Here is a clip I found on Barley Tea: Mugicha" or roasted barley tea is a traditional drink that has been a favorite for centuries in the Asian. Naturally caffeine-free, its mellow, soothing flavor can be enjoyed by everyone at any time of day. Served chilled in summer, it is delightfully cooling and refreshing. In winter, hot Mugicha is both warming and relaxing. To prepare warm Mugicha: Boil water pour over tea bag and steep for 15-25 minutes. To prepare iced Mugicha: pour iced water over tea bag in a pitch and shake. Or add 2 tea bags to 1-1.5 liter cold water and leave in the refrigerator overnight. Due to the barley content, it is normal to have some residue in the tea Here is more: Mugicha, or barley tea, is typically served over ice and is a Japanese summertime favorite It is healthy, naturally caffeine-free, sugar-free with natural sweetness, and deliciously refreshing. Suitable for the whole family at any time No boiling needed to make this mugicha, just add a tea bag into a pitcher of water and let steep. You can also prepare it any way you like: iced, chillded or hot. So I am wondering about the "natural sweetness"??
