| While joining in on another accountability thread, I added "Just Do It" to my post....and that gave me the idea for the name of the tea club for the new year! Just brew it....whether it's GREEN, RED, BLACK, or WHITE- it's good for you, 'cuz it's tea! With all it's antioxidant properties and less caffiene than regular coffee or most sodas, tea is a great choice for low carbers. Whether enjoyed hot or cold, most of us just add a little sweetener and/or sugar free flavored syrups in our tea. We skip the cream and other dairy, since it negates the antioxidant effects of the tea. Please join us as we continue to reap the benefits of our various teas. We like to discuss our favorites, new kinds we try, and lots of other stuff. Welcome aboard.

| Terrific Name!! I'm a tea drinker, and I'm coming out of the closet. That nasty coffee got back into my life at the end of last year, and is no help at all. back to my Bengal Spice/Green tea every day, and drinking Arizona Green Tea. Yum.

| Perfect name, Maxibee! I still love my morning cup of decaf, but the rest of the day is tea, tea, tea. Maybe we should all make an effort to try a new tea every month, something we have never had before, and post our "review". A tea that I grew up with, but is no longer available unless you have a tree, is sassafras. Oh, it's good! But someone came up with a study that it causes cancer, so you can no longer buy it. We used to buy a sassafras concentrate. It can be made from the root or the bark of the sassafras tree. I didn't know there was any other kind of tea when I was little, because that's what we used all the time. |

| I would love to hear about other tea's. I think that it is good for our bodies to have variety to get the most out of everything. I'll keep buying whatever is cheapest and do a review on those. My frugal review! ![]() |

| Wow, Nita! I remember sassafrass tea, but didn't know that is why you can't buy it any more. I'm still drinking the Lipton jasmine/orange flavored green tea and I finished off my box of honey flavor. I won't get to try anything else until after the middle of the month when DH gets paid again. I'm not sure if I can get white tea here, but I love the flavors of green tea that I have found so far. I'm not sure how often I'll remember to post in here, but the new thread name sure got my attention

| OK, here's the scoop on sassafras tea. It was considered a carcinogen because it contains safrole, and could cause liver cancer. However, I found a source of sassafras tea concentrate that claims to be safrole-free. I remember buying this brand at least 35 years ago. They also have a green tea concentrate. Their website is http://www.sassafrastea.com/ Sassafras is the "root" in root beer, and this company provides concentrate for some brands of root beer. So, if I can get safrole-free concentrate, you bet I'm going to buy it. Sassafras tea is a real comfort food for me, brings back many memories. |

| When I drink root beer I get migraines. Isn't that odd? I love rootbeer and a month ago I took tylenol with it just so I could drink it and then went to bed and took a few of my muscle relaxer pills for good measure! Silly I know to go through all of that for diet root beer soda. |

| I'm still a tea drinker too! I really like it cold, but hot is nice through the winter. I like Tazo (?) Brand and Celestial Seasonings Raspberry. I used to have to have SF Davinci in it, but I've noticed now that I've drank it for quite some time, I like it plain. Never thought I'd see the day - I hate coffee, and used to hate tea - who would've thought!?

| Hey, everyone! Good to see you all! I still love plain green or Earl Grey green...I'm also trying to decaffienate myself. LOL! I'll try something and review it, too. Provided it can be found at Kroger....I did see some almond vanilla something there, I'll have to check on that. Feel free to try and review as you like...those that want to can and those that don't don't have to. Just thinking of that white pear tea.....I bet that would be really good iced in the summer....

| I had gotten a celestial seasonings sample box, still haven't tried all of them. Think I'll do that. I found yesterday that I was tired of the bengal spice. You know. tastes just change on a dime sometimes. So, just having my cs green tea with some davinci syrup for a bit. and I'll find the other flavors and see what they are like.

| I did really well with the tea yesterday. When my daughter came to do my pedicure, we each made a big, big mug of tea to sip. It was so relaxing! I had the Lipton Mixed Berry Green Tea. Yummy. |

| I brew 6-8c each morning and FORCE it down. I make myself drink at least 1/2 of it (so I only have to take a small to go cup for on the way) and then drink the rest before I get to work. that way I have 24 oz down and can start on the water when I get to work. I'm on the Earl Grey Green right now. and some plain green if I have any at night, it's decaf.
