Heather, you are just melting away! Great going! I've started putting my winter shirts away. I'm going to cull out clothes I never wear, see if either of my girls want them or can wear them. Then what's left is going to charity. Why have clothes if you don't wear them? Today I am wearing green knit pants and an oatmeal knit top with a v-neck that has lace edging, and my butter yellow Crocs.

I love lace Nita! Today I wore my newest jeans that finally fit and a black shirt. While I was walking to my son's school I got a honk and smile from a young guy driving a car. No other car or person was around and I'm taking it as he thought I was cute because hey, it just makes me feel good. Maybe tomorrow I'll get a whistle even though I'm pushing my son in a stoller .

Thanks Rob! I have no where to go tonight but am looking forward to my husband to come home and see the new way I clipped my hair - lol. I have a small clip that has some hair pulled from the sides and pushes up some hair near my forhead is the best way I can describe it. I think it kinda looks like this but with my long curly hair: ![]()

Sigh. Ah, to have enough hair to do anything with. I'll bet it's really pretty, Heather.

Thanks Nita. I'm really enjoying dressing up each day. I don't know why I didn't do it before because I feel so good when I do. Before I would go a week wearing sweats or scrubby shorts and just sat around the house to only get up to do housework. Today I got into my newest smallest bluejeans and suede brown blouse and have been out a lot today. I took my boys out for a 2 hour walk to the park and then we walked to the grocery store for a drink and some cheese. Been a great day and I even have gotten some housework done!! The better I look, the better I feel and more energy I seem to have.

Nita, I really enjoy your company on this thread. I was wondering if we should close it though. Not a very busy thread

Heather, I really don't need this thread. It's been fun posting, though. Maybe revive it in a few months for some of the newbies, for a short time.

I think I'll revive this thread for just a while. I've read a few posts from some who have done low carb, and have lost, but regained their weight, sometimes more, and are feeling fat, ugly, and unattractive. They are embarrassed to go to the plus-size sections to buy clothes. Would rather do without than admit they need larger size clothes. Just because you've gained some weight does NOT make you unattractive. You might have to adjust your thinking, and wear clothing styles you never wore before, but take a chance and try on some things, and find something in your current size that makes you look good, and makes you feel good about yourself. Don't look back at what you used to be able to wear. That day is long gone, and might not ever come back again. So learn what makes you look good NOW! Maybe you've just gotten too round to be comfortable in blue jeans. Then go for some knit pants, that give. They can look just as attractive. Just make sure they fit you well. Not too tight, not too baggy. Wear tops that fit, that cover what you don't want showing, and wear colors that make you feel good. Look in the mirror. Does the outfit make you look better? Or are you bulging where you shouldn't? Try on another size, or another style. Remember, not all styles flatter all figures. Not all colors flatter all skin types. Go shopping and find an outfit that you look good in. Don't buy it just because you like it. You might not look good in that style! And not all sizes are consistent. A dress by one manufacturer in a 22 might fit you, but you might have to wear a 24 or even a 26 in another brand! Not fair, but that's the way it is. Make sure your undergarments fit well, too. If you are unsure of your bra size, go get fitted. Most department stores have a very knowledgeable person who can help you. It's quite common for women to wear the wrong bra size, and when fitted properly, they look so much better. Make sure your undies fit, too. Nothing worse than seeing a fat girl in tight pants and a visible panty line. Spruce up your plain tops with jewelry or scarves. A plain T-shirt can look dressy with a simple scarf at the neck, or a pendant or pin against it. It doesn't matter what size you are....50, 32, 24, 16, 6! If your clothes don't fit your body or your body type, you won't look as attractive as you could, no matter what your size. And yes, a woman who wears a size 50 can be every bit as attractive as the one who is a 14. It's all about attitude, and fit. There are attractive clothes out there for us, ladies (and gentlemen, too!) It's just a matter of looking. And learn to love yourself, your inner self, no matter what your size. Then you'll find yourself better able to cope with dressing yourself, and making that inner self come out and shine! So how about posting how you dress to improve yourself? I wear knit tops with 3/4 length sleeves, so the stretch will fit my huge upper arms, and I don't need to keep tugging the sleeves down because short sleeves ride up over my arms. I stick with lower cut tops, to detract from my double chin. I am fortunate that I can wear nearly every color, and I take advantage of that. And in cooler weather I'll put on a scarf, just to perk up the look. Always earrings, too, for a touch of sparkle. And I seldom wear jeans because denim doesn't give, and I have too much middle for them, anyway. And I stay away from white, not just because it makes me look as big as a barn, but I am a dirt magnet when I wear white!

We've got quite a few new members here in the past few months, so I thought this might be a good time to revive this thread. Tell us what you wear to make you feel really good about yourself. Your tricks to hide the parts you don't like, and what you do to enhance your better features. And don't forget shopping tips, as well. Today I'm wearing a robin's egg blue 3/4 sleeve cardigan that has matching buttons up the front and on the sleeves over a white tank. Brown stretch corduroy pants, and my yellow Crocs. A good outfit for a Friday. What about you? How are you dressing to make yourself successful, in your work, play, home life, and just feeling good about yourself?
