| I bought some haircolor at the store, and I didn't buy the CHEAP stuff. I got some really cute barettes too. They have little glass beads on them, so they are sparkly. It is so nice not to have my bangs in my face. My DH has started a Civil War reenactment unit, and they just didn't wear bangs then, so I'm trying to grow mine out so that I can have a period correct hairstyle. I've always wanted long one-length hair anyway, so now I have a good reason! My bangs are still too short to cut all my hair this length (DH would freak if I cut my hair this short), and too long to let them hang. So for now, it's barettes! Not real dressed up today, but I did fix my hair. I think that buying some clothes that actually fit might help

| Katie, if you lived nearby I'd be picking you up now to go goodwill or salvation army shopping. I can't wait until you buy new clothes. You are going to feel good & thin wearing clothes that fit. It'll give you a new boost for your woe. Maybe you should donate all the clothes that are to big and walk that dh to the closet and show him how bare it is. I bet he'll feel bad and demand you get new clothes. You deserve new clothes and I bet he'll think so too. Today I wore a new shirt that someone gave me. Real cute white shirt, blue stripes with little pink flowers on it. I wore my hair up and had two flower barrettes that were sparkly (Love sparklies too Katie) to match. I went out this afternoon and got my eyebrows waxed (bi-weekly event) and feel new and improved. I also stopped by the $1 store and bought teeth whitening toothpaste, capaccino eye liner and facial buffing pads. Feel so spoiled! |

| Good for you, Heather. I'm waiting for February. DH has been pushing me to buy a new outfit or two, but I've got us on a very tight budget so that we can pay off our credit cards and get enough together for a down payment on a house BEFORE Austin starts kindergarten in August. It keeps our finances really tight, but I'd rather wear baggy pants a little bit longer, and have my own house

| this is a realy good thread. I wish i could bring my self to "dressing up" for no reason. im embarsed to say i have actualy taken my son to preschool still wearing my pj pants . I have recently found my self at least throwing on a pair of jeans vrs sweats when going to get him or take him to preschool. i think my neighbors, and family would think i was doing something strange if i actualy dressed up every day to just work around the house or go to grocrie store. Though i have tried to at least be dressed in decent clothes when hubby comes home maby be sure hair dont look like i just crawled outa bed lol. this is truely a good insperation. might keep it in mind. Angie

| Anything that you do may help you, Angie. I'm a SAHM, and I live in the boonies. Unless I'm going to town, no one ever sees me except my DH and my son. I only leave the house to go to the post office, and I have to admit that I've even gone to town in my PJ bottoms and slippers a couple of times. I find that I feel a lot better about myself when I do make the effort though, and I'm working on combatting my poor self-esteem. I've found that it's pretty hard to feel good about myself when I don't even care enough about myself to dress and brush my hair. I've also been trying to look at it from the point of view of the example that I'm setting for my son. Since I've been making sure that I get dressed everyday, he's started getting dressed everyday too. I feel really good that something so simple is having a positive impact on him, and I don't want him thinking it's okay to spend your whole life in your PJs or underwear (him, not me) Okay... no more procrastinating! I've got the haircolor on my head right now! I fed the animals and went to the post office and the little store in the next town, and came home and did it so that I couldn't put it off anymore! Not sure how I'm going to like it. I like blonde or red hair, DH likes brown, and he picked the color. He bought expensive (to me) color (L'Oreal la-di-dah) instead of the cheap Revlon stuff I usually buy

| Anxious to see you Katie. L'Oreal usually gave my hair a better texture. but the highlighting, I'm just afraid to do it myself. I love my new blonde hair - I had to work at a client today with 3 guys I have known for years. they said it took years off my appearance. Next month, right before I head up to MPLS for a meeting, I'm going to have the whole head highlighting done, the week after that we are on vacation in Orlando/Daytona. I think I was meant to be a blonde, it really brings out a glow in my face. I don't even see the vitiligo problem around my eyes like I used to. Too bad it took me 50 years to figure it out.

| I used to use L'Oreal Castings, a really dark brown, but I had an allergic reaction, my scalp itched for days afterward, and I am afraid to try any more brands. I have naturally dark brown hair, and the only gray is a little patch right on the top, which surprises me, since I'm 53. About 3 years ago we had to make a trip back to Ohio, and when I walked into my sister's house, she looked at me, and told her daughter, "See, she colors HER hair!" I had to tell her, no, that I'm allergic to hair color, that was my natural color. She was shocked. I bought a brown long-sleeve knit shirt and a brown animal print skirt at WalMart for $5 each on the clearance rack. I might wear them this morning. Depends on how they look on me, or if I think they are warm enough. It's supposed to be quite a bit cooler today, and rainy, so I may opt for a warmer skirt, anyway, just to keep my old knees warm. |

| I'm also a sahm and since I started dressing up I'm feeling so much better about myself. Tomorrow I'm going to wear a dress and I'm not going to go anywhere in it until 7pm for my weekly oa meeting. Tonight I put on a new pair of earrings just to wear them. Danglies I call them. I told you all about Old Fashioned Sunday at church today and I looked like someone straight out of Little House on the Prairie! It was so fun! I even put my hair in pig tails. Liked them so much that I'm keeping them in for the rest of the day. |

| Today I'm in sage green pants and a brown knit top. Sounds kind of depressing, doesn't it? My boss wears only blacks, browns and beige. You seldom see her in a color. And she doesn't own a sweater or a nice jacket; just a black nylon carcoat with a fur trim hood. So in cool weather she either wears the coat or goes without. She's not a shopper. The first thing I do when I hit WallyWorld is look at the clearance racks for clothes! That's where I've gotten some of my best deals. I'm still doing the makeup thing. Still don't look any better, just different. But since I have a load of the stuff, might as well use it up, eh? I actually wore lipstick yesterday morning! |

| It's fun to dress up! Today I'll be wearing a brown dress with a black top and multibrown/black thin blazer. It looks better then it sounds - lol. I'm going to wear some new brown dangly earrings and my newest tan shoes. Right now I'm in my black night gown cuddled up with my little guy who is sick. I was sure to take a shower after the gym but decided since he is not well we'll just relax and watch Disney channel and read books. |

| I'm jealous! I'd like to be in my pjs cuddled up to a little one, watching Disney channel and reading books. Instead I'm at my desk, trying to get the motivation to get something done.:( |

| It's cold this morning, so I am dressed in a warm knit top, teal colored pants. Someday soon I am going to go through my jewelry and get rid of what I don't ever wear, and clean up some of the silver pieces I have that haven't been worn in months. Make up again, today, but no eye makeup. It just irritates too bad. |

| Hate it when I get masquera in my eyes Nita. Definately wouldn't wear it if it bothered my eyes all the time except maybe on special occasions. Wish I was around to take some of that jewlery off your hands. ![]() I think I'm out of control collecting jewlery lately Today I put my hair in a white pony tail then braided the tail, twisted and put it in a bun. I think it looks fun. Easy too! I wore a pink and white top with black pants and black shoes. I wore my pink dangly and sparly butterfly earrings. Last night I wore my hair up in a bun with chop sticks in it. I got all dressed up for my oa meeting and dh wouldn't leave me alone |
