I hope that others will join me in this great challenge. Even though I'm a housewife I've been getting out of the pj's and trying to look my best each morning.

It has helped my self esteem which in turn benefits my woe - when I look good, I feel good and want to do good. I feel like a fog has lifted! Let's have some fun!!

Sounds good, bbj. How about we post what we wear for our body type that makes us feel good about ourselves, or where we buy our clothes? Share tips that make us look better, or make us feel more attractive. Good challenge!

Oh this is a great challenge!! One that I definitly need help with. I know what you mean about how it makes you feel. I work from home and get very lazy about doing my hair and makeup & I know that when I do my whole attitude is differnt and that carries through to my woe. I'm sure my husband & my kids would like that as well. For some reason when I am fully dressed with shoes and Makeup on I get more done with my day & don't just feel like sitting around. So therefor use up more energy. Thanks Heather for the great challenge!!

Thanks guys for joining! I never get a full nights sleep since I'm up at 4:30am for the gym so it's time for me to freshen up a bit after my nap. When I try to keep up my appearance I notice that my houses appearance is usually better too Heaven. I definately get more done. For this body type Nita it has changed dramatically. I used to be very top heavy and now I'm a 36/38 C bra which seems so tiny! I feel like a boy in my shirts now so I'm starting to invest in padded bras for me. How can I feel like a girl if I feel like I look like a boy?

At my largest I was a DD and it was squishie! I'm definately a pair shape so I try on a few outfit combo's to try to not make my middle section look so huge or else I'll have a "fat day" I call it.

Okay. I'm in. Are we supposed to tell what we wore for the day, or what?

If so, I'll start. Today I wore an emerald green dress with a matching, short-sleeved waist jacket with pearl-like buttons, pantyhose, and black patent leather mid heels. Jewelry was faux pearl earrings, and faux pearl necklace. Full makeup. Wore my hair back in a pony tail. Always feel good when I wear a dress.

But I froze to death all day long at work, so tomorrow I'm wearing slacks and a heavy winter sweater, I think.

Right now I'm sitting here in gray stirrup pants, an over-sized navy blue sweater, with my earrings still on and makeup, and my hair still pulled back.

Next?

not going to help matters with what i have ON right now.. (robe over camo pants..*L*) but one trick i HAVE found is to take pictures.. just with the cellphone camera,,, but i take em often REAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL often.. it helps for a couple reasons.. you get to see what ya look like... you get to contol the lighting *L*... ANNNNNNNNNNNNND the BIG thing is .. you feel like you should dress up and look nice for it...
fix the hair and makeup and such...

try yall... it works!

I tried taking my picture with my digital camera OMG.... so, Kim are you taking your pictures I guess with your cellphone.. if your avatar is the result you certainly do a good job..

I'm in too! Thanks for posting in your journal that you were going to start this, Heather! It motivated me a LOT!

Okay... another SAHM here, and I try not to go to town very often, and it seems like I always look ratty when I do have to go and stop in at DH's work.

Today was his payday, and so I stopped in to get his check and take it to the bank. I actually put on CLEAN jeans and a CLEAN shirt and wore shoes with laces (a huge improvement for me), AND I PUT ON MAKE-UP!!! I actually felt good enough about myself to take my car over to the service department to have them check and see if the broken door reflectors are covered under my warranty. I usually just run into DH's office as quick as I can and HIDE while I'm there so that no one will see how yucky his wife looks and feel sorry for him

I even touched up my lipstick when I got home so that I'll look nice when DH gets home from work tonight!

yeppers.. i take MOST if not all of the avatar pics i post with my cellphone camera..

katie.. good for you! you deserve to look nice for yourSELF though..but i am sure your hubby will be happy to see the difference in how a few little changes in appearance will be reflected in how YOU feel... and how you relate to others around ya!

Wow! This thread is so busy - I'm so happy. I know a lot of people have asked what we should write and I think that we should just write whatever we feel. I'm so happy for you Katie, I do the same thing. Today I made sure that when I picked up dh from work I looked my best. I talked to a few of his coworkers, he works at a video store, and low and behold who stares at me while walking by but my ex-boyfriend. You know the one, THE EX that we all have before our true love that broke our heart and screwed us up

. I looked real good and I think I actually weigh less then when we were together. Stick it to you buddy!

The second or third pledge I made to myself when I began this WOL was to make certain I looked the best I could each day. That meant on my weekend grocery store runs, that I would not deck out in my sweatpants to make the journey and I WOULD wear my makeup..... just for ME! Yeah, just for me...... just like wearing the mink when I do laundry..... if you read my journal. Heather, I think this a great thread. We need to take the best care of ourselves that we can.... and that means looking the best we can each day!

That made me blush Katie and I certainly hope so. I'm off for the gym this morning and I made sure that my hair and makeup looked okay. I'm going to sweat so don't need to go blind during workout if it gets in my eyes. I only got about 4 hours of sleep but as soon as I remembered that I saw ex yesterday I got right up. Next time he see's me I plan on looking even better.

I have to rearrange the storage room this morning so that I can move my broken washer, so that there's room for the rental washer... I'm going to take a shower and blow dry my hair after that AND put make-up on
