| Walked 3 1/2 miles at Salem Trail yesterday. It's teh only paved surface where I feel somewhat safe letting the dogs off their leashes. Sandy will not ley me clip her nails. she absolutely panics when i try. So walking a few miles on a paved surface helps wear them down a little.

| I cleaned off the front porch, moved a huge plant, hosed off all the winter's gunk, plus some birdie doodoo from our barn swallows (I think she's laid eggs; she's on the nest all the time now). Then Dan and I spread 2 yards of white gravel we got for the driveway. Yeah, I moved nearly half of it, and old Arthur is letting me know that wasn't such a great idea. That's a whole lot more done than I figured I could ever do.

| Nita - USeful exercise is the best kind! Have been having bad pain the past couple day and haven't felt up to my regular walks, But I did go to Home depot and walked around looking for a few items for about 30 minutes and then when i was on line to check out the fire alarm went off and they evacuated the store. So i had to go to Walmart and shop for the items i had to leave at H.D. That was another 20 minutes walking around. Hey I'm counting it.

| I started out pretty good this month, but I've not done well since. I worked very hard today....we were a couple of people short, so I really had to get alot done in a short amount of time. I'll be taking DH in to have his hernia surgery tomorrow. I hope this will cure what ails him. I understand he's having problems, but he's driving me nuts with all this. I STILL think if he'd quit eating like he does and get rid of that "pregnancy gut", he's feel alot better. I hope I don't sound unsympathetic, but I try to live healthfully (for the most part) and I am seldom sick. He makes no effort, yet want me to listen to him moan and complain. It's aggravating. Sorry.....I digressed a bit there. I will wear my comfy shoes and walk around the hospital (outside) while I wait for him to come out of surgery. I'm betting on the fact that breathing in the bus fumes and pollution in downtown Dallas for a few minutes won't be as potentially harmful to me as sitting around a HOSPITAL full of sick people. Good grief, I sound gripey! Just ignore me, people......I'm in a bit of a sanctimonious mood right now.

| I did more walking than I had planned today! It was nice out, warm and breezy. As soon as we got close to downtown, I started sneezing, and then I got a headache....which escalated to the point of almost-a-migraine. When DH's surgery was put off until noon, I just told him I had to go and find some pain reliever somewhere. The nurse told me I could buy some at the hospital pharmacy, so I headed over there. (We were at a nearby surgical clinic.) The hospital is about 5-6 city blocks away. Once I got there, I found the pharmacy and bought some Advil, then I went in search of something to drink, then back to the clinic. After DH FINALLY went into surgery, I left again to go to the McDonald's about 5 blocks away in the other direction. I took a detour on the way back to avoid the construction, so I walked farther coming back. I'm sure it was over a mile altogether. And at a pretty nice clip....I was trying to not be gone too long. There is exercise to be done anywhere I go....the trick is to get myself to do it! (BTW-DH is just fine. He has an "inny" belly button now which tells me he's had this hernia for a while....his bb has beenalmost protruding for a long time. So, that rules out the hernia as the cause of all the problems he's had lately.)

| Maxi - Glad Dh is fine. Sounds like a hiatal hernia. No walk yesterday but I spent the entire day from 9:00 a.m. to almost 7:00 p.m. clearing out my kitchen and living room of an incredible amount aof stuff and bringing most of it upstairs in preparation of new vinyl in kitchen and baths and hall and new carpet for living room and stairs. Even brought a couch and a recliner to the dump. according to fitday I burned almost 4400 calories yesterday. Of course i had to go and ruin it all by eating at the chinese buffet.

| Yesterday was a good day for me - over 11,000 steps. Today not so good as it started to rain. Didn't do as well as I hoped in my first assignment so am feeling a bit down. Eating and drinking way off plan at the moment. Have the next 5 days off work and my personal goal is to get back on track. I envy you Rob. I keep looking at the carpet in the living room which I'm sure was all the rage in the 70's (burnt orange and brown) thinking how nice it would be to get something modern. And lugging boxes around is definitely exercise.

| Hey, Rob. I'll post so you won't be guarding the fire all night by yourself! I am tired. Between the whole hospital incident and cleaning house today and....oh, yeah: WORK, I'm tired. Maybe I'm getting old. Thursday I bailed DH out of the hospital and took him home. Then I went to work and put away 8 pallets of product, which included almost 2 pallets of CANDY. Those cases are HEAVY. (It's still hard for me to imagine how much candy we sell and we are just one little company among hundreds in the DFW metroplex....in one state, in one country....YIKES!) Then, it was time......SOMEONE had to mow the yard. I've never mowed before in my entire life. But, facing yet another phobia....I did it. Not the lovely angular lines you men like to see.....lots of curves and little swipes I missed. It looked fairly butchered until the rain last night helped it grow. Not so bad now. Hey, beggars cannot be choosers. I was the only one physically able to do it at the time, and I'd never mowed before. Take it or leave it I say. DH just said it was fine. Oh, well. I'm trying to get all back on track, including some kind of exercise in addition to my rather physical job. We'll see how it goes.

| Okay - My feet are officially sore. RSPCA Million Paws Walk today (same as SPCA in the US). It was supposed to be 5 kms along the river (add another kilometre for the hike from where the car was parked to the start line & back), but they forgot to put signs up to tell us when to turn around so we kept going - maybe 7.5 to 8 kms all up. Lance is also very tired. But one happy pup as there were a couple of thousand other dogs to sniff, play with etc. I'm doing better on the exercise front (especially today) but still struggling with the eating. I will keep trying. Maggie - sorry to hear about DH. Hope he gets better soon. Rob - Please keep the thread going. I really need it, and sometimes have popped in to read the posts but haven't had time to write anything. I hope to get up to 2,000,000 steps this week (way behind schedule - the next million will be faster) and need somewhere to brag about it. Colleen
