| Hi Everyone! Who wants to lose it and lose it FAST?!?!? :hot: I'm starting a new challenge! Here's the rules: 1. Limit of 1,000 calories a day (receive three points for staying under 1,000 cal) 2. Limit of 40g carbs a day (receive three points for staying under 40g carbs) 3. Minimum of 12 - 8oz glasses of water (receive one point for 12 glasses, one extra point for every extra glass of water you drink.) 4. Every 20 minute segment of exercise earns one point (one hour of walking equals three points.) Everyone checks in on a daily basis (if possible) with their daily stats, and we will tally up the points to announce a winner every week. Winner gets bragging rights. An idea might be that the winner gets to chose a charity of choice any everyone has to donate $1 via Paypal - but this idea can be voted on as the team gets bigger. We can track your weight also, but your weight loss won't necessarily count for final point total. I think its more important to create new habits than worry about the numbers on the scale. It will be easier for someone who has 50 pounds to lose to lose a pound, than it will be for the person who is working on their "final 10". Any ideas will be welcome. This challenge is for those who want to make some extreme changes and see some extreme results. I'll post some food lists, recipes, diet and exercise suggestions, inspirational thoughts, supplementation ideas, etc. Who's ready for an EXTREME TEAM EXPERIENCE? |

Describe your perfect day, visualizing yourself at your goal weight: It is November 6, 2006. Chris, Sydney and I have just arrived in Punta Cana yesterday for our first two-week vacation together as a family. Today is our first day to just sit on the beach and relax. I am wearing a super-cute turquoise bikini and I feel fabulous in it! I am so comfortable in my body that wearing something this small doesn't bother me one bit! I am at the shoreline, building sandcastles with Sydney. Chris is sitting on his lounger under our palapa, watching us girls play in the sand. He is so proud of me and what I have accomplished by staying true to my goals and staying focused on what I needed to do to get down to my goal weight. I have been an inspiration to him, and a positive role model for my daughter. I am so happy and grateful right now for where I am and I thank the Universe for co-creating my perfect day for me. Thank you, thank you, thank you! |

Eat to live attitude rather than live to eat. To enjoy cooking without splurging. Finally develop normal eating habits. Describe your perfect day, visualizing yourself at your goal weight Early morning awakening for a great run, followed by green tea and a healthy breakfast. Maybe a leisurely few hours shopping with my daughter, partaking in healthy habits like drinking water and eating a good salad for lunch and then stopping off at the beach for a few hours, wearing a great swim suit and playing with my daughter in the water. I'll post daily here. Even if it's only a couple people, it will be worth it. |

| Hi Athena! Welcome! This will be fun! I'm going to add as many recipes or suggestions as possible. I've lost 10 pounds in two weeks just by eating this way (1000 cal, 40g carbs) and will post my meals and suggestions. I'm so glad that you joined! We'll get each other to that goal and I'll do anything I can to help you lose 12 pounds in the next 4 weeks! You can do it! |

| Well, I hate to be a wet blanket here, but depending on one's basal metabolic rate, eating 1000 or fewer calories can have a very counterproductive effect. It can trigger a response where the metabolism slows itself down to such a rate that when one tries to eat normally, weight gain is inevitable. It's called the starvation effect. While everyone is free to eat any way they want in this world, this forum does not support crash dieting. We support a journey to better health through learning new and better eating habits. Nothing personal, but I'm closing this thread for that reason.
