Since my busy Sunday and Monday I haven't done much of anything. I thought that I was coughing because of all the dust from the bush I trimmed but I ended up with Xander's summer cold. So other than cleaning house (and not a great job of that) I've been a slug.

Was able to do 4 miles on the bike today. 2.5 w/no resistance and 1.5 with a little added resistance. All in just 10 minutes!

I did 18 minutes on the Gazelle, which is .80 miles, and burned 97 calories. I increased the times on the intense bursts throughout the workout. Tomorrow I'm shooting for 19 minutes. I also worked with the resistance band, 50 each of 2 movements, and 20 of another.

Did just over 4 miles in 12 minutes. Started with a little resistance, moved up to a little more resistance, then cooled down w/ no resistance. Burned 200 calories.

Nita - Yes slow and steady for both of us. But it gets you where you want to go.

Noel - I feel for you, I'm just getting over a cold myself. Saps your energy for sure.

Bethany - excellent progress!

The Doctor gave me a clean bill of health so to speak. I asked her how much exercise I should do and she said do anything you want unless or until it begins to hurt. So i decided to try for 2 mile walk. After 2 miles I didn't hurt much but I figured that should be enough until i work my way up higher. But Sandu had otehr plans and refused to come back to me to be put on the leash,. instead she ran away and disappeared. so had to walk an additional 3/4 mile to catch her. so 2.75 miles. And yes I did hurt after that.

Rob, I guess Sandy thought you needed a little more exercise.

I did 19 minutes on the Gazelle, .77 miles, burned 97 calories. And, even better, my knees are feeling better, MUCH better. There is always going to be pain, but not like I used to have, and I don't have to use the DMSO nearly as often. It took the DMSO to get me to where I could exercise, but the exercise is helping even more. WooHoo!

Nita - Yes exercsie helpe me too as far as loosening up the joints and preventing stiffness! Good job!

walked 3 1/2 miles today at tanglewood park. The Doctor had said that wearing tight underwear and especially a jock strap would help with the pain. So I wore a jock strap on my walk and even though I got some funny looks it did help.

Did 5 miles on the bike today. Didn't use any resistance, though. Just needed to expend some frustration.

Oh, Rob!

Maybe you need to use a girdle.

Did a couple of minutes on the cardioglide today. Then did 5 miles w/various levels of resistance on the bike.

We went to a new park today but by 11 when we went it was so darn hot the slides were too hot to slide down even after I poured a bunch of cold water down them. So we left early.

I did get some activity in today though. I finally moved the other computer desk up from the basement to the main floor and then moved the computer down from the top floor (that took four trips). So I got in some leg work

Good Job Bethany and Noel!

Nita - a girdle isn't a bad idea actaully. I asked the surgeon about the possibilty of getting a truss but never followed through.

Did a little over 2 miles walking at the lake yesterday.

Noel, moving furniture is really hard work. I know...I do it all the time! Dan never knows where to sit anymore!

I did 22 minutes on the Gazelle this morning. I did a 2 minute warm-up, then a 4 minute more intense 4 minute spurt, then 2 slower, then 4 intense, etc. I burned 121 calories and did 1 mile exactly. So I'm ahead of my goal. Within 2 weeks I hope to be at 30 minutes, and eventually do 60, but that will probably have to be split up into 2 30 minute work-outs a day. I just can't see getting up before 6 to exercise.

Rob, a truss would be good for a while, especially when you are needing to be more active. You really ought to look into it.

Did about 3.7 miles on the bike. Might try to get back on before the day is out.
