The scale bounced up again, but I'm not obsessed, I'm not obsessed, I'm not obsessed...... I know it's water weight. My fingers are puffy. I had some pepperoni last night, so I'm sure that's the culprit. I did eat a OMM this morning, but made it with half protein powder and half flax meal, so the carb count is way low. I just could not face eggs or sausage or cheese, and at this point I have nothing else handy. I don't think this was a bad choice for the basic eating plan.

D*mned scale Nita! I'm sure that with the pepperoni it's water...but pepperoni makes a great snack to keep one from feeling deprived doesn't it? I think the OMM sounds like an excellent choice for breakfast.

I am eating a hamburger patty and 2 eggs made into egg salad for breakfast...kind of a weird combo but it's what I woke up craving.

Today marks one week that I've been following the OAP (original Atkins plan), and I've lost 4.2 pounds. Saturday was difficult when we took Ben back to Indiana for school and then stopped at the Golden Corral to eat. I wanted some stuff off of that dessert bar, but didn't do it. I had steamed cabbage, Brussels sprouts, steak, and coffee. I ate a lot of Slim Jims and cashews that day, as well, which wouldn't ordinally have been a good food choice, but it was hot and I moved a lot of furniture up three flights of stairs into a 115-year old house (the Frat house), and I expended a lot of energy.

This week I'll continue to follow induction levels. I can't wait to add my OMM back in to the plan. I miss it.

After bouncing up and down, I've lost 3.5 lbs in the last 2 weeks. For me, that is absolutely phemomenal.

Yesterday I ate a lot, and still showed a loss on the scales. I even had a teensy sliver of low carb carrot cake at DD2's house last night. So something must be working, because the scale was down 2.5 lbs from yesterday, after a 2 lb bounce up.

Now the challenge for me: we leave for Galveston in the morning, and will come home after breakfast Friday. I've never been to this hotel, and have no idea what kind of foods will be available. There is always a luncheon and a dinner to deal with, too, and there was no indication of the menu for either. And there will be desserts all around me!!!!! But I will survive.

Kudos on the 3.5 pounds, Nita. Good luck in Galveston. I'll be thinking of you.

No breakfast again this morning, but had Brussels sprouts, beef franks, cheddar cheese slices, cucumber slices, and radishes for lunch.

I'm looking forward to a low carb "taco" salad for dinner tonight.

Sorry about the book mixup, bargoo.

Ladies........last night was difficult, to say the least. I craved -- salivated for -- something sweet and off-plan after I ate my "taco" salad. Finally I just got some cream cheese, softened it in the microwave, added some lemon juice and Splenda to it, and ate a few teaspoons of that. I realize that cream cheese is off-plan as far as the OAP goes in the Induction level, but it was either eat that or get some of the Little Debbie snack cakes from the pantry and scarf them down.

I'm so glad that I didn't do that. I knew last night if I had done that, that I would have regretted it enormously this morning when I woke up. So, I am breaking my arm here patting myself on the back.

And while the cream cheese concoction didn't really satisfy the sweet tooth, at least it was just time for bed and I averted disaster that way.

Hope you all are doing okay.

I'm not trying to stick to the original plan this week - it's too hard to find anything on some of these restaurant menus that follows the plan strictly enough. But I plan to stay as low carb as possible, and totally avoid the sweets and starches. They brought us a basket of fresh rolls with supper, and we told them to remove them. We had shrimp and crab salad stuffed in avocado halves with raw veggies. It was marvelous!

Hi Bargoo...I PM'd you a link to some info about the original atkins induction. It should be enough info to get you started. Hope it helps

April...I think the cream cheese was a good choice. It's all about making choices we can live with long term. Go ahead and pat yourself on the back...you did great!

Nita...Have fun on your trip!

OK...so...the weekend wasn't very good for me as far as staying on plan...but not as bad as it could have been. I am back on plan as of Monday...and I'm down another pound!

It does seem like an odd coincidence doesn't it? I hope the company I got mine from sent the right one to me. It said 1973 in the title or description somewhere so gosh darn it, it better be from 1973!

If not then the bad luck has come in threes. I'm still waiting patiently but it gives me time to finish the CO peaches my sister gave me.
