| I thought about ordering a not-so-worn-out copy of the book, but I think I'll stick with my yellowed, dog-eared copy I have! I've been staying on plan, although some of the meat we've been served had some kind of sauce, it wasn't enough to even say it had sauce on it (so then, why did I say it?!) Nice salad, and I'm doing ok. Just not enough water. Can't wait to get home and eat back 100% on the original plan. |

| Nita - that shrimp and crab salad sounds heavenly! It's always challenging for me to stay on-plan while traveling. Sounds like you're doing great. Vickie - the cream cheese stuff is what's keeping me sane just now. I don't have it every night, but almost every other night I have a tablespoon of it. It tastes JUST like cream cheese frosting that is on carrot cake. I can't wait until Monday comes. That'll be the end of my two-week Induction phase and then I'm going to add the OMM back in a few days a week, with that cream cheese "frosting". Hope your week is going well. Bargoo and Amy - wow.....it's strange that you BOTH got the wrong copies. I guess I was lucky to get mine right the first time around. Noel - you're doing great! I've been following your journal and the "250" thread. Kudos to you. You must feel marvelous. Carolyn - can't wait for you to join us!! Gals.....I can't believe that I've lasted nearly the entire two weeks on Induction. Monday will make two weeks for me. With all of my gritching, you'd think it was torture. But now I'm getting used to it. I will be adding things back in, however, next week. I made the mistake of staying at Induction levels for a long time before, and won't do that again. Monday I'll post my weight loss for this challenge. How's everyone else doing?

| April...I hear you on the cream cheese. I have no portion control when it comes to cream cheese but I do use ricotta cheese with some vanilla and sweetener to satisfy my sweet tooth. i am also looking forward to adding my OMM back in and I think monday will be a good day to do so. Good job on the 2 week induction! So...i am cruising right along. Still doing induction levels for now and happy with the way it's all going. Have a great weekend everyone

| Thanks, April, I really thought this week I'd lose nothing and then stay in a rut, don't want to jinx myself but it doesn't seem to be happening yet. I'm going to stick with what I'm doing for now. Especially since I haven't gotten the old book yet. When I do I'm goin got read it adn then decide if I should start the old plan now. I've got a doctor's appointment September 6 to get my blood work done. Can't wait. I did the cream cheese thing last night with a sample of the new splenda with vanilla. I haven't tried ricotta like that. I should. I love cheese cake so cream cheese with sweetener is the net best thing for me.

| This morning we skipped breakfast so we could get on the road, and stopped at a Denny's a ways past Houston at about 10:30, had the Ultimate Omelet with some sliced tomatoes instead of the potatoes and bread. And lots of coffee. We got home about 5, with a couple of big bottles of water behind us and a diet 7-Up each. I made some low carb blueberry pancakes (made with egg, flaxmeal, and soy protein isolate, frozen blueberries, and some cream that was turning funky), with sausage links. So, I am not on the basic plan at this point, and won't be tomorrow, either. I really need to get some fiber into me, and get some of my innards moving better. We'll be doing a major shopping trip, so I'll try to start up, if not Sunday, then Monday for sure. I have been low carb all week, just not Level 1 of the original plan. And that seems to be what works the best for me. I can't wait to get back to it! And I am so glad to have others doing the same plan. |

| I haven't seen the vanilla splenda yet...but it sounds yummy. The ricotta is most definitely NOT as good as cream cheese...but that's why it's safe for me to keep in the house! I have a big problem with portion control with anything creamy...I love creamy, fatty foods....my weakness. I know we really don't have to watch fats so much with Atkins...but I can easily get up to 4,000 or 5,000 calories with the fat if I'm not aware of what I'm putting in my mouth. The amazing thing is that I don't gain when I do that...I just don't lose. Nita...I usually choose an omelet when we have breakfast out too. I bought one of those plastic omelet makers for the microwave and have recently used it to throw an omelet together while my coffee was brewing. I chopped up 2 slices of bacon and nuked it in the omelet thing for a minute or two until it was browned and crumbly...then I whipped up 3 eggs and a chunk of cheese in my bullet blender and dumped that in (I kind of swooshed the bacon grease around the inside of the thing) and nuked it for another couple of minutes...typing this out was more work than the omelet was...and it was a great breakfast.

| I am back to the basic plan, as of this morning. I really would like to drop 10 or 15 lbs in the next couple of months, before we go on our NY trip. Don't expect it, but will be pleased with whatever I can get! |

| A calorie saver that I use..... 1 whole egg and 2 egg whites for an omelet... just a thought.. I think even if lc is the way to go, there comes a time you have to watch calories... just my opinion. |

| Today makes two weeks that I've been following the OAP Induction. I've lost 7 pounds. Cool. I'm going to add more vegetables into my daily menu, as well as a OMM every now and then. How's everyone else doing?

| Hi Bert...thanks for the tip. I have used that trick in the past and had really forgotten about it but it's a good idea. Hey April WTG on the 2 weeks and 7 pounds! I had a good weekend with my food choices. Today I am back to induction level foods. I am feeling really good doing VERY LC during the week and relaxing it a bit on the weekends to add more veggies and fiber in. I had a OMM on saturday morning as I was on the run to my haircut appt. It was such a treat after not having one for so long!

| April, you're doing great! I'm sticking as closely as I can to Level 1. I had a bounce up after the weekend, but it's coming down again. I still can't get into that elusive new decade, though. |
