I completed my two-week Induction phase Sunday. I DID eat cream cheese during that phase, and I DID eat more salad vegetables than one cup per day. It didn't seem to hinder my weight loss.

Those two weeks did re-teach me portion control, so that's a very good thing, and probably why I lost the 7 pounds.

I ate a Keto-slim bar last night -- with 3 net carbs -- and the scale bounced up 2 pounds this morning. Water weight, I realize. But now I've learned that I cannot eat those kinds of treats more than once in a while. I'm going to try a OMM tonight and see what happens to the scale tomorrow morning.

Still don't yet have my book. Maybe I'll get it before the weekend, & I can do some serious reading!

been real good trying to keep on the regular plan, no sugar 11 days (14days before that) and have lost 4 lbs in three weeks, (i am very happy with that)

I'm still here...still doing OAP. I was pleasantly surprised this morning to step on the scale and find that I am at 185.2...so, the weight is continuing to come off. I am a happy camper!

I just checked my Amazon order info and it said my book should arrive between August 22 and September 5. So it should get to the office after the holiday weekend.

I'm guessing in the any meat category they don't want you to eat a ton of liver which has carbs. So I'd better eat the stuff I just thawed before starting.

I'll read through the book right away but that list could get me started immediately.

Yep Noel...that list is exactly the same list that's in the book so you could get started whenever you're ready. I really think that the biggest difference is that you don't subtract fiber in the '72 version. It doesn't sound like a big difference but it really is when you start just simply adding carbs...period. I know I'm eating alot more meat and eggs...and alot more fat and finally losing again...so there must be something about the fiber carbs that stalls some of us. Whatever it is...I'm just glad to be losing again

Today marks three weeks I've been following the OAP, but the last three days I subtracted fiber from the carbs, and I ended up not losing anything since last week.

Live and learn.

So I'm still at a 7-pound loss for this challenge.

Hi April...I think that for some of us subtracting the fiber just doesn't work. I read somewhere that Dr Atkins modified the OAP to make it more acceptable to the naysayers in the face of some of the other LC plans...not necesarily because it was the best way to do the plan. At any rate....I went for months without losing anything until I went back to the basics and stopped subtracting the fiber. As soon as I began to keep it under 20-25 carbs period...the weight started coming off again. There's definitely a connection there in my case.

I'm finding that when I stay close to the original plan, I just don't get hungry. I have to make myself eat, sometimes, which is really weird. This morning I just didn't have any desire to eat, so I didn't, and when lunch time came, I was a little hungry, but not ravenous as usual. I know that following an extremely low carb plan can do that, but I've never really experienced it before, even the first time I did this. (Yeah, I know breakfast is important; it's not like I do this every day, ya know.) So far I don't see any big losses, but I'm also not weighing until the end of September, so I'll just rely on how my clothes fit.

My book took a rather long time to get here, but I got it today. I thought I was ordering a hardcover book, but it's a pb. I went back to my order confirmation from half.com, and, sure enough, it's a pb. Oh, well, it's the same info. So now I'm on ch. 3. Hoping to finish the book by the end of the week, so maybe I can get rid of the carbs in the house & start fresh next week. John will be gone for a couple of days again next week, so I can eat my way those days. Hoping also to remove all temptation by that time as well.

Hi Bethany...it will be great to have you join us. Funny it's always so much easier for me to eat on plan when I don't have to worry about feeding DH as well....so I totally get what you're saying about your DH being gone and you being able to eat the way you want to. I always secretly breathe a sigh of relief when Vern tells me ha has practice or something that will take him away for dinner

I guess my hubby is just a gem (Bethany should know!) because he eats whatever I put in front of him (except tuna or mackerel). He never complains. I've asked him if he needs more of something, maybe veggies, or some fruit. On occasion he'll buy some nectarines or something similar, but he just doesn't seem to have a need to keep stuff I can't eat around. Also, he's maintaining his weight nicely. He bought 3 new suits last spring, and he sure looks great in them!

Today marks four weeks that I've been following the OAP. I'm so proud of myself that I haven't had any sugar whatsoever -- in any form -- during those four weeks.

I am going to try for another four. I hope the scale moves. I'm still just showing a 7-pound loss for those four weeks. :(
