| I have trouble getting the water in. Someone (sorry! I can't remember who) mentioned that if you guzzle some whenever you see or hear the word water (and if you are reading these boards, it's a LOT) then it is easy to get it all in. I'm going for 100 oz per day. Whatever your goal, let it be known!

| Heather, there's been "A Gallon A Day" challenge, but we kinda fizzled out. I think the last post was in early November! Water is so important for us, that it's probably a good idea to keep a challenge in front of us! I brought 3 20 oz bottles of water to work, and plan to drink all 3 during the day, and then have at least 2 20 oz mugs at home. My goal has always been around 100 oz per day. In the summer I usually end up at the gallon mark, just from it being so hot, but during the winter, when we're so dry from our heating systems, we need to be extra alert to our need for water. Some people who are coffee and/or tea drinkers try to have a glass of water with every cup of coffee or tea they drink. (Or soda!) That way you aren't substituting the coffee, etc., for the water, and it forces you to drink the water. So, I'm with you here, and I'll try to be more diligent in the water drinking. |

| Yesterday I got in 80 oz during the day, and another 20 during the night. I'm apparently breathing through my mouth at night, due to my cold, and my mouth gets so dry! I always keep an insulated mug of ice water next to the bed on my night stand, just for when I get thirsty at night, and I count that as part of my day's water. So, I really got 100 oz yesterday. Haven't yet started on today's water. I forgot to bring some bottles, and our tap water is just nasty lately, we don't have it filtered at the office, so I just won't drink it. Hmmmmm......we have a freezer full of ice, maybe I should fill a container with ice and let it melt for my drinking water.......I could even nuke it! |

| woohoo! That's great, Nita! hahaha, nuking the water. We live in Germany, and sometimes the water (like on post) is yucky, but at our house, about 20 minutes from post, it's pretty good. We buy bottled water, then I try to fill them up with tap at home. It is now 10am, 12/28/06, and I'm just getting started on the water. Can we count tea with our water, or is that separate?

| AND...is it ok to count Crystal Light as half of our water?

| You really need to count your water only, and then have the tea and Crystal Light in addition. But, if you can't drink that much, I suppose you should concentrate on getting enough liquid in any form. It's just that water is better for you just plain. I'd also go easy on the Crystal Light - isn't it still made with aspartame? It's best to avoid that stuff if you can. I think I got about 80 oz yesterday, but today I'm going to try for more. I'm going to try to remember to take a few bottles with me. Next time I shop, I'm going to buy a couple of cases of water for at the office. We have a fridge to keep it in, so there will be no excuse NOT to drink it! |

| Eliminating those excuses is so hard, but once you have no excuse...you just gotta drink it! Today I'm going to make it to 100!! and thanks for the tip on the Crystal Light, I forgot about steering clear of the aspt. Something else I noticed, and I know you eat the OMM and are a fan of the flaxseed. I just discovered it, and have found that all that fiber makes me thirsty! So THAT's and added bonus! I'm going to try to make tea my morning drink (had some coffee this morning, but I'm trying to avoid that caffeine!) and my evening treat IF I've had all my water. Looking forward to it should help. have a great, water-full weekend!!~h

| I'm trying to drink 3 20 oz bottles of water during my work day, so I have most of it gone before I go home for the day. Then at least another 20 oz during the evening, and my nightly mug I sip during the night, and that's 100 oz! Easy peasy! |

| I'm the same way, for some reason it is so much easier at work. I hardly drank any today because we walked all over Heidelberg and I didn't tote it with me. I have about 5 hours to get in as much as I can! I'm about to have a OMM ham sandwich, and that'll really make me thirsty! also, I've been thinking about the aspartame...why is it that we avoid it? Is it just that it isn't good for us, or is it a staller? I can't remember. thanks!

| Haven't posted to here in a while! For the past two days I have done well with the water. Can't really remember before that. I am keeping to 2 50 bottles per day. If I can get one down by about 2, I'm pretty good about getting the rest in.

| Some food for thought (or, drink for thought!) from Snopes concerning whether the 8 glasses of water a day is really medically necessary. I rely on Snopes to debunk urban legends and other myths, and I found the article quite interesting. http://www.snopes.com/medical/myths/8glasses.asp I personally feel better when I drink more water and less coffee, and I stay thirsty unless I get at least 60 oz of water a day, in addition to my large mugs of coffee and tea. But, apparently we don't really need to drink all that water, if we go by the information in this article. Hmmmmmm. I'm still going to drink my water! |

| I'm with you. Interesting, but I'm going to keep drinking. If nothing else, it makes me exercise with the frequent trips to the potty!
