Day 7 here and on plan. Had crutsless pizza last night and stayed low carb all week. Going grocery shopping today to stock up on wings, bacon and eggs, deli meats and cheeses, cauliflower, flax seed etc. I need to find something to cook on my new gas grill. Looking forward to weigh in day tomorrow. I like having weigh in day on Monday as it helps me during my most difficult day, Sunday.

Dohick, I'm doing Atkins low carb, pretty much. I'm sticking very close to induction levels for the first week or 2 to break the cravings and lose some quick pounds.

1/8/7 Day 14.
A bit discouraged as the scale went up from the original drop. I think salt is the issue. :-( and cheese. Going to cut back...

Atkins... I looked at that, but SBD just seemed to suit me better and seemed to make more sense to me. I'm also trying to "break the cravings". I wasn't entirely successful over the weekend: Had a few chocolate-covered raisisns, and also, they had cake at church in honor of our pastor's 25th wedding anniversary and I had some chocolate sheet cake. I had them cut a piece half as big as everyone else was having at least. Even with that, I managed to get through the weekend with a net loss (which shocked me).

I got a gas grill for Christmas and we've been using it more than I expected, starting on Christmas Day when I had to use it to cook the roast when our oven died! I've grilled pork chops, salmon and London broil this past week, and they all came out great! I'm gonna "throw some shrimp on the barbie" tonight! Things seem to take a little longer to cook than on the charcoal grill, but then they're done, they're cooked more evenly.

Day 8 here and still on plan! Weigh in day today and dropped 7 this week!

Doohickie, the SBD makes good sense to me too and I know folks who have had success on it. For me, I prefer Atkins because I've had success on it before and it works well for me as long as I stick to plan. Hey whatever works!
I made lamb chops on the grill yesterday and they came out wonderful! I was surprised how long it took, like you said. But I guess I just need to experiment around and learn the techniques. It didn't get as hot as charcoal.

Hello Doohickie!! Glad you are here and I bet that Gregg is happy to have a guy around here too.

Can you believe it - day 8? I feel like a million bucks today and I'm excited about treadmill class tomorrow. Never would have thought when I started on this journey that I would ever look forward to eating anything but fast food and then want to to runing at 5am!

8 down 92 to go!

Day 6 & 7 were both pretty good, although I probably ate a little too much tonight, but absolutely nothing off plan. Just need to drink more water.

Doohickie, it's good to see you here!

1/10/7- Day 16! Still a little upset about the slow weight loss. I know I just need to buckle down. I'm doing ok on carbs, but need to keep calories in check. I also need to do better w/ the water!

Weight loss department is doing quite poor for me too Heather. Feels better to eat right then binge and have more to lose though right? Our bodies are just holding out for a big whoosh right? :jump: We can do this! You are at day 16 and must be feeling fantastic! I'm claiming day 10 since I'll be to busy tonight to post. We can do it - we ALL can do it!

10 down 90 to go!

1/11/07-17 days!
OK, still irritated, but patting myself of the back. I had to go to the dining facility on post today for lunch. It was "soul food" day, and they had ribs, ham hocks, fried catfish, sweet potatoes, fried okra, mac n cheese, a slew of "fast food" type choices, and I got baked chicken (it was on the bone which I HATE) and some greens with a side salad. A friend was with me and asked, "do you want some cake?" I said no, thanks. She got it for me anyway. I didn't eat it! I was also at an MLK celebration yesterday with cake tht I didn't eat, and fruit that I had a taste of (1 grape) and it was SO SWEET!!! I stuck to meat and cheese from the deli tray!
Yes, Heather, expecting a whoosh over the weekend!
Nita, Gregg and Doohick, keep up the great work!

Great weigh in day!! Going by my home scale I'm back in the 130s and I'm back in my pants I bought when I reached goal. I outgrew them over the holidays so my stepmom patched tinkerbell on the butt pocket which helped motivate me! I'll see her tomorrow, wear them and thank her again. The scale at LA Weightloss said 136 which means that I only have 2 more pounds to get back to goal range there. I'm hoping to do this by next Saturday but if it takes a bit I should be okay - I'm really close and back in my clothes again which is a great feeling.

Anyway, it looks like I'm in the 80's to go for my 100 challenge too. Feeling good - great day! Thanks for this challenge!

11 down 89 to go!
