Carla, I bought my ketostix from netrition.com. I rarely use them, though. They seldom turn even the palest shade of pink. They don't turn for everyone.

I did pretty well yesterday. Last night I needed a sweet fix, so I made a chocolate OMM, then topped it with a concoction of whipped cream and cream cheese with some Walden Farms chocolate dip in it. Better than cake. Probably too many carbs, but I hadn't had many all day.

My weight is hovering. At least it's trying to stay put. I'd rather see it plummet!

Dumb as it sounds, didn't eat enough yesterday so now I am headachy and tired.
Had a small salad for lunch and all of my water.

Feeling down in the dumps and did not realize it until after I left for work, but put my 'fat girl' clothes on this morning. Wearing a shirt that is two sizes bigger than I am now and pants that are a size to big. Funny how I subconsiously went for fat clothes when I am feeling down.

At least I am not binging. Going to force down lunch soon. Another salad. yum :(

Mab, some days you need the comfort of baggy clothes. Then another day you put on something that fits well, and makes you look fabulous, and you get compliments, and then you feel on top of the world. Life is such a roller coaster ride sometimes.

It really is!
It is cool though that I can come here and get the moral support I need.
I have been having a hard time the last few days with my husband. He definitely tried to sabatouge me on Mother's Day by telling me that it was not a day to diet, so I should have some cinnabun cheesecake. Are you crazy? And when I didn't give in and cheat with the pizza he ordered on Monday, he stopped talking to me.
Ugh! Men!
Thank goodness I can come here and get the support that I can't seem to find anywhere else. Geez!
Goddess recommended the Dr. Phil Ultimate Weight Loss book to me and that is helping me with my thoughts about food etc. So that is great too.
Again, to repeat myself, Men! Ugh!

Hang in there Mab, you are doing this for YOU and it is worth all the health benefits you reap from staying LC. Lisa, I get my keto sticks from Longs, but have to ask for them cause they keep them behind the counter even though they aren't prescription. I like the Bayer brand best. I have found them to help me know I'm in ketosis and keeps me motivated to stay there especially when the scale is stuck. Weight today still 148 which is better than 150, but I've been on induction a week and a half and 2 lbs. down is pretty ho-hum for me. I will stick with it though. Made a cream cheese, sf chocolate syrup, cocoa powder concoction in my "rocket" last night. It made a creamy pudding -like dessert and satisfied my sweet tooth. Thanks for the idea, Nita.

Ladies, we all seem to be doing quite well. I guess I'm fortunate to have a husband who does low carb with me. He knows how hard it is, and he never asks for anything not low carb. When we go out to eat, he'll order anything he wants, and that's fine, I'm never tempted to follow his lead. But at home, it's 100% low carb, all the time. Period. I guess I've trained him well.......

Last night I steamed broccoli with some old-fashioned weiners, and we had fresh lettuce from our garden mixed with some romaine we had to use up. It was a very nice supper. For lunch we had cheeseburgers and salad, and I was starving when I got home. Lately I've been doing just a protein shake for lunch. I might have to go back to that, to keep from being so hungry in the evening. It seems to hold the hunger at bay quite well. I had a nice, thick chocolate shake for breakfast this morning.

I'm still not losing, just hovering. I was up 2 lbs this morning, but it's probably from having a few pork rinds last night. Salt will do that to me every time.

I didn't do so well last night. It's my own fault - poor planning. After working all day, the kids (ages 10 & 7) had some activities and I had not planned for supper, so I ordered a pizza. At least it was thin crust, with vegs. and meat, low sauce. Still, I ate 3 slices. How awful was that! Did quite well earlier in the day yesterday. But the scale was up 0.8lbs. this morning. It could have been a lot worse. Today, baked chicken fingers for lunch. Supper will be a big garden salad. Struggling to get the water in. Having green tea right now.

I'm still searching for keto sticks. I don't recognize the places mentioned for purchasing them. I'm in Alabama. Anyone know where I can get some? Thanks.

Carla - any drug store or pharmacy type place should have keto sticks. Even pharmacy in grocery store should have them. Good luck, hope you find them. Everything going okay eating and drinking wise. I was hungry in between meals, so had a cheese stick. Haven't really had that happen before on this induction. Reading Atkins reminded me about some supplements I've never tried, so may go get some of the L-carnitine and CoQ10 and see what happens. I'll keep ya'll posted. So far, 2 teachers have gone home sick today so I'm not sure what tomorrow may bring. The adventure continues!

Lost two more pounds! Very excited, but have to update my ticker.
Interestingly, I opened my freezer today and found two boxes of ice cream sandwiches and two gallons of ice cream. Also went to take out the recycling and found two empty boxes of krimpets (my former favorite) and ho-hos. I think that my husband is definitely rebelling.
Interestingly enough, I haven't felt like cheating at all. Just think that it is too bad for him. Last week he was enjoying ceasar salad and even broccoli salad. Now he is involved in some bizzarre sugar fetish.
What I don't understand is why? Why wouldn't you want your wife to happy and healthy? Why wouldn't you be proud instead of trying to make me go back to being so fat that I couldn't fit into my office chair?
Have I said Men , Ugh yet? If not rinse and repeat!!

No losses. Still hovering. I think I'm doomed to be at this weight for the rest of my life! And I have more than 100 lbs to lose. So, why isn't it budging, even doing induction?

I had protein shakes for breakfast and lunch. For supper, we had baked salmon, with some roasted California blend, and fresh salad with dressing. For a snack I made a coconut OMM and topped it with cream whipped with cream cheese flavored with DaVinci's coconut syrup and pineapple syrup.

Today I am cutting back on the cream. Drinking my coffee black. Ugh! But maybe that's what's stalling me.

Good Friday all. Teachers are all here today. Hurrah! Eating good, won't weigh until Sunday, but I may need to do fat fast to shake things up. I'll decide by Monday. Getting supps this weekend also, so we'll see what they do. Slow & steady wins the race, I guess!
