You guys are doing great! I'm about ready to head into day 7! Longest on induction for 3 years so I'm quite proud. I logged in my food and it seemed like a lot. I'd rather have to much then not enough but know that I can listen to my body and stop if I need too. Protein just fills you up! Picked up a lot of lean meats at the store today to not pack on calories. I even walked by the salad dressings because I feel that I need at least one more week and I can substitute beef bouillon right now as dressing and it will do me just fine.

Woo hoo...onto day 7!

woohoo Lisa, that's great! $$
Heather-actually, that was the last of all the legal food in the house. We are going to the commissary tonight!
Do let us know, Nita. Take care of you. And what's your protein shake recipe?
I'm staying on track today! omlet and bacon for bfast, 80 oz water so far, and salad for lunch! Hamburger patty for dinner w/ grilled veggies!

Ah, the protein shake. I use a lc whey protein powder, it sure is way (or whey!) better than soy. I vary the liquid. Any sugar-free drink, any flavor you like, or coffee, or Calorie Countdown milk (I like to make it with chocolate). One or 2 scoops of powder. Some ice. Blend in blender until the ice is crushed. If you use the chocolate milk and 2 scoops of the powder, it gets really thick like a milk shake. If you aren't limiting your fat and/or calories, you could add a dollop of cream. The ice really chills it nicely, and thickens it.

I made mine this morning with orange drink I keep in the fridge, and a touch of Davinci's sf vanilla syrup. Dreamsicle in a cup.

Don't think I could stomach the soy milk, either, Lisa!

I'm doing well on my restrictive induction. This morning I browned some ground pork & beef for lunches, and what didn't fit in the storage containers I ate for breakfast. Here's hoping it sticks with me all morning.

I'm doing w/o cream, too. (boo hoo hoo) I mixed a double scoop of whey protein powder in water, stuck it in the fridge, and used that to cream my coffee. It's not bad. Not great, but not bad. It takes the sharpness out of the taste of the coffee. Never did like it black. Plus, a little boost of protein can't hurt anything.

Lisa - I love the vanilla soy milk but have only tried in it my coffee and not plain. My DH is having it with his cereal for the first time this morning and it loving it. He is lactose intolerant and it's nice to have have an alternative for him. A few years ago he would never have even tried it. As time goes on with my eating habits the better the rest of the families is too.

I'm so excited that I'm on day 8 today. Over the 1/2 way minimum mark. I'm thinking about doing induction for the entire month of June, weighing in and then upping up by 5 a week until I stop losing and hopefully will be back to goal by then.

Have a good day everyone!

My severely restricted low carb/low fat/low calorie experiment is working. The scales dropped 2 1/2 lbs this morning! Since Sunday I've lost 4 lbs! And, I'm back down in the new decade. I've been there twice in the last 8 months, very briefly, but always bounced right back up. So, let's hold our breath and see if this experiment is the magic charm to get things working again, after all this time.

Everyone else, WTG! I'm rooting for all of you to have great success.

lol Heatherene...no capn crunch! yummy peanut butter capn crunch..drooling..ok enough of that....the vanilla soy milk I found comes in a box on the shelf with atkins bars..protein bars etc. (walmart)...32 oz box...I really like it! Will check in on yall in the morning. I will say when I came home from work I was weak and starving...took all I had not to blow it! I hurried and cooked 2 hamb patties w/melted cheese on top. Also had to eat a small peanutbutter spoon. Felt my sugar level had bottomed out....what causes this I wonder? Any answers?

Lisa, lack of protein causes your blood sugar to drop. Eating protein gets your levels back up to where they need to be without going too high. A spoonful of pnb is a quick way to get the blood sugars normalized.

Well, girls, ANOTHER 2 LBS DOWN! I am so excited, I've lost 6 lbs since Sunday, I haven't lost this much so soon in several years, and it's steady, no bounces back up yet this week!!!!! Yippeeeeee!!!!!! I'm now 3 lbs into the next decade, and at this rate perhaps will be in the next one by the end of the month. I'm ready to start dancing, I'm so excited.
