Default Induction Challenge

I decided that we need a place to come to for encouragement during induction, whether it's our first time, or whether we are doing it for a kick-start to get back into the fat-burning mode, or trying to purge a carb fest.

I started induction on April 30, and so far have lost 2.5 lbs. I plan to be here for a long time, so I'll be posting regularly, and hope to have some company.

Wanna join me?

ok, I have been putting it off and putting it off, but tomorrow I am going to start induction again... I am hoping to stay on induction till a week before we leave for vacation (june 1st) and work thru vacation without going off my plan...I have been eating and eating all the wrong foods.

I can feel the weight on my body and I don't like it....I need to concentrate on getting back into the grove I was when I started this way of eating a few years ago....also need to get back into exercise every day... not just a couple of days a week....

Enough of this, tomorrow I am planning on getting at least two hours in at the gym - water aerobics and water volleyball (might even get an extra hour in...we will see....)
Tomorrow I will eat on plan, for breakfast, lunch and dinner and not have anything I should't eat....

I strayed a tad. Friday night we had supper with dd2 & family, her hubby made veggies with a cream sauce, and fresh strawberries with whipped cream & cream cheese & Splenda. Just a little higher than I shoulda had, but still quite legal.

I weighed, but am up a bit from water retention from sitting for a long time yesterday, and not taking any taurine during the day. I hope it's off tomorrow morning, though. It's just about a pound up.

You can do it Queen Mama!
I actually had a good weekend doing Induction, but it was tough as we stayed at my sister's on Saturday night and her house is a junk food heaven! I was good! Just kept thinking, I want to lose weight more than I want the snacks. That helped this time. The twinkies sitting in the pantry have been calling to me all afternoon. Wish I could find a way to get all of the sweets out of the house. But hubby and son are addicted and "don't have a problem", so it is tough!
Haven't lost anymore weight since Friday, have been at a plateau for a long time, so the two I lost this week are good for me!

I've been strict for a week, and scales have bounced back up, but it's water weight. My hands are quite swollen. It takes just a few hours for me to retain water, but days to get it off. Such is life.

Well I made it thru sat and sunday (tho a bit higher that I thought I should) and today I came to work with three bags of food - everything I need to keep on track....lettuce, chicken, olives, tomatoes, cukes, shredded cheddar cheese, mushrooms, strawberries, plain yougart, sf jello, pretty much everything I need around me to keep me from eating off planI was going to try to get up today and work out before work, but I didn't get great sleep... restless even tho I was in bed at 11:15, I felt like I just tossed and turned....so maybe later today I will walk a little .. on the way home... I have sneakers at work with me, I can change before I leave work and stop on the way home at a local school and walk the track (1/4 mile track) so... if all goes right today will be day one, (no sugar yesterday, but a few higher carbs that I would have liked, and saturday was pretty good but I was at Costco and forgot when I walked by a table and grabbed something to try and it was jelly belly's.)
So.... onward thru the fog.

This is my first time to post, but I have been lurking on this site for a while now and feel as though I know many of you very well. I was able to lose about 50 lbs. and have kept most of it off for about 2 years. However, lately, it has gotten harder to maintain and I have gotten lax about some of my choices. I read where Nita had started a new induction challenge and so here I go. Started today with 2 boiled eggs, 2 slices bacon smushed together with mayo and I do have devil brew every day. Lunch was salmon patty and broccoli, and I'm trying to do better with water. I have the big 64oz. cup! Not sure about dinner yet. Since I'm in Hawaii, the time difference is earlier, so dinner is a few hours away yet! My goal is to get to 136 lbs. as I am 5'2" and although 149 is not bad, I still want to get into single digit jeans by summer's end. The thing I need to do is WALK - arggg. I am so lazy by the end of the day, and I do not have the excuse of "cold" weather, although we do get alot of rain on our side of the island. Thanks for helping me begin this new adventure to not just be a lurker anymore. (I'm sooo glad to hear from Vicki and Kim, too. They are some of my favorite posters!!!) Aloha everyone!

I'm still on induction, but gained back all I lost plus one lb. Phooey! I'm still sticking with it for at least the rest of the month.

Breakfast was a OMM, toasted with butter. Lunch will be salmon salad w/pork rinds & cucumbers. Lunch will be either leftover pork roast or brisket & zucchini.

I have my 20 oz bottle of water right next to my cup of coffee, sipping on both alternately.

Day Two - so far so good. Down to 148 this am. Had 3 sausage links and two deviled eggs for breakfast, devil brew with cream. Lunch was laulau (a great Hawaiian low carb food, kinda like chicken wrapped in spinach and steamed) and finally started on water. It really helps knowing I will be posting here. Last night it kept me from snacking in the evening. Will do keto stick tomorrow, but no walking yet.

Hang in there Nita. The scale is not the only way to measure your progress. Loose rings? Loose clothes?? Energy up?

Carolyn - awesome job on the walking. That's my weakest point right now, but maybe when school is done I can get it in.

Aloha, see you tomorrow,
Gail

Hey all. Just checking in. Still on induction, finished a full week yesterday. In the same boat as Nita, not really seeing the scale move. Some of my friends here are trying to get me to stop weighing twice a day. I think maybe I should throw the scale out! When I am not obsessed with the scale I realize I feel great, look great and have so much energy. Plus I am working on going off of my blood pressure meds. These are all good things! Who is the scale to tell me this isn't working?! Gail is right! There are other positives!
