7 lbs? Gotta be water weight, Heather. It'll go away soon.

I lost 5 since Sunday, so I know a good portion of my recent "event" is water weight. I also find that when my arthritis is flaring, sometimes I gain.

Day 81. Yesterday was GOOD. No cravings at all. Had a whey protein shake with a double portion of powder for breakfast, chicken & broccoli for lunch, and meatballs & fried radishes for supper, a snack of a bit of meatloaf. No cravings at all yesterday. Yay!

Day 70 and almost gave into temptation. Trying to help M find a lollipop in the Easter candy. The chocolate smelled so good! Before I stuck a piece in my mouth I left and went and journaled about it. I then took a multivitamin and Vitamin C in case my body is lacking something.

I'm this far in the day and need to finish up! Should be okay this afternoon since I'm out of the house and working the nursary at church.

Yesterday the boss bought donuts for our meeting, the rest were brought into the office. I could smell them! I put them in the fridge so I wouldn't have to look at the boxes all day. I know that eating one wouldn't be worth the yucky feeling afterward.

I'm at day 82, still holding my own, still staying away from the sweet, albeit low carb, snacks. I'm going to try my best to avoid anything that even looks like a dessert, low carb or not, for the rest of my challenge. So there!

Oh! I am so confused! I want to follow South Beach phase 2 but only with one whole grain carb and one fruit daily but I think that if I eliminate carbs completely I will lose faster. Cereals like oatmeal or whole grain dry cereal can be eaten? Carmen

Carmen, most of us here don't really know much about South Beach. My opinion? Ditch the grains, stick with vegetables. You'll get a bigger bang of nutrition from them, and not be as likely to get cravings. I don't dare eat grains, with the exception of an occasional low carb whole wheat tortilla. The cravings will hit me and before you know it, my eating will be out of control. That's my experience, anyway, and that's one reason I never did SB. I also understand that SB limits fats, and there isn't really any good reason to limit fats, our bodies need them.

This is day 84, I'm still in control. I did break down and have a snack last night, one stick of string cheese and a few pieces of pepperoni. I'm really not feeling the need for the sweet snack anymore, and I plan to lay off them for quite some time.

The scales went down 2 lbs yesterday, that's all I'll expect for at least a few days.

I think now that you mention it, it happens too to me. So I am going to try this week eating the whole grain carbs like 2 times a week as a treat and the rest of the week only proteins and veggies or maybe no carbs at all, the thing is that I just bought last week a huge can of oatmeal ,and pita bread , etc... and I dont want to waste it!What about fresh fruits? Could it be that I dont tolerate carbs ? one time I tried phase one and I lost 8 pounds in 1 week and now that I am doing phase 2, I have not lose 1 in this first week!! Wich diet you follow? Carmen

Carmen, I basically do Atkins, with a dash of Protein Power. If I tried eating oatmeal, I'd bloat and actually gain weight.

Day 85, doing ok. I make protein pancakes for breakfast, but didn't feel hungry at lunch, now it's almost 6 and I'm still not hungry, probably due to a stomach virus. Not sure what to fix for supper; maybe I'll send dh out for some bbq.

See? That is what I need, something that can control my hunger! So I will do phase 1 but adding some fat. I will give the oatmeal etc... to any of my neighbors. Tomorow I go grocery shopping so I will buy all I need. Also I began today a regular daily exersice rutine. Today I walked 2 1/2 miles alternating 5 minutes of jogging every 10 minutes of walking and also did 1/2 hour of streching. I feel great!! Thanks for taking your time to help me ! Carmen

Yesterday was day 86. We ate at dd2's for supper, dsil grilled fish for me, fried for everyone else, but I did eat 2 tiny pieces of the fried. We had grilled brussels sprouts, salad, avocados, and coleslaw. And wine. Then dd2 sliced fresh strawberries and topped them with cream whipped with cream cheese and slightly sweetened with Splenda. I was stuffed! I think I ate more at that meal than I ate all the rest of the day. Probably too high on the carbs, but we didn't have sugar, and the only starch was the bit of breading on the fish. All in all, I'm pleased.

Today I started out with egg salad. Didn't need much this morning after that huge supper last night!

I'm going to start day 71 today and finish it. Been to lax and not staying on track like I should. It's snowing again and I need to figure out how to not want to cuddle up on the couch with a blanket, watch TV and eat junk. Yuck!

Sorry about your weather, Heather. We woke up to mid 60s and humid, now it's 70 and the sky is clearing. A day to open windows and air out the house!

Nothing wrong with cuddling on the couch under a blanket, just leave the food in the kitchen! How about sipping on some hot tea to warm your innards?
