Good morning!!! Day 11 for me.

JR...I hear you on the snacking. It's one of my rough areas too. I'm allowing myself alot more fat than is on the south beach plan so my snacks wouldn't really work for you but I snack on things like roasted chicken thighs, boiled eggs, pork skins, macadamia nuts (portion control is hard with these though), decaf coffee or tea with cream and coconut oil in it. It's crazy but I am finding that eating these fatty foods is causing me to feel more satisfied and my snack monster is being tamed.

Heather..I love the idea of not losing the 10 good days you had! I think it's a very healthy attitude. Now get right back on plan and have a great day! {{{HUG}}}

Hi Lisa...you're doing great!

Happy Saturday everyone! Getting a late start today cause I slept in till 9:30 YEAH!! My kids are 16 and 12 so I'm soooo happy they're older and I get to sleep in. I totally missed a couple years of sleeping when they were so young! Zzzzzzzzz

Tom made an early visit this month, and Aunt Flo decided to show up as well. Geez, I'm craving steak! It's sure fun to be on the edge of menopause! Errrrrrr..... Hmmm I think stir-fry is gonna be on the menu for tonight! Yummy

Even with my unexpected visitors yesterday, I still worked out and did 50 min of bicycle and elliptical.

I gotta run..taking DS to basketball game...

Have a great day everyone!!

Good Morning Gals!

My weigh-in was not a good one but I knew it wouldn't be...up 1 lb - Thanks TOM! errrrrgh....

I'm gonna weigh again on Wednesday. Maybe by then the Tom weight will go away ...

BUT I am feeling good. So for that I am thankful.
It's a new week - Let's make it a fabulous one!

Heather, one day is just a hiccup. We've all had them. So just keep coming back here.

I'm starting day 10. I was able to stay absolutely on plan all weekend, with some careful planning. Even so, I'm up a lb, but I'm also puffy and waterlogged, which always happens when we travel. I expect a whoosh in the next few days.

We decided to not stop for supper on the drive home (it's a 2.5 hour drive), but to eat when we got home, but we stopped for a potty break and I got a bag of pork rinds to nibble on. I'm sure the salt in them is what did me in. But, they hit the spot! I had plenty to drink, too. I'm hoping that tomorrow or the next day shows a bit of a drop on the scales.

JR, menopause is fantastic, no more TOM or Aunt Flo; however, I've found the weight losses are a lot slower. I'll take the slow losses if I never have to go through that monthly mess ever again!

Carolyn, it's good to see you joining the challenge. We're here for you!

Heather, yeah, just skip the bad day, pretend it didn't happen, and just keep on counting. It's the sensible thing to do.

I know that sometime during this challenge I'll have that same dream I've had before during the same type of challenge. I'll dream that I mindlessly eat something totally carby, usually chocolate cake, be in mid-chew, and then spit it out, knowing that it will totally destroy my challenge. Weird, huh? I wake up thinking how bad I was, and then remember that it was just a dream. So many years of mindless eating can really cause a guilt trip, even in our dreams!

Hi everyone!! Today is day 14 for me.

I have lost 2 pounds in the past 14 days. It would have been nice to lose more but I'm also fine with 2 pounds. My goal for this year is to live well and be healthy....weightloss is no longer my biggest goal...so 2 pounds is just fine by me

Great going, Vickie! 2 lbs is 2 lbs. We're not in a race for a skinny bod, we're trying to be healthy, which is just what we're doing.

I'm at day 11, and back at Friday's weight. The water came off, but no more losses, which is what I really expected. And my eating yesterday was atrocious! I had leftover lc pancakes for breakfast, a big protein shake for lunch, and homemade jello with some whipped cream made with a bit of cream cheese. That's it. And I wasn't hungry, either.

Today I started with a big vanilla protein shake. I'll try to be better about eating better today. At least yesterday wasn't a carb fest!

day one is done, and I did pretty good, no sugar (yeah) and calories were at 999, but carbs were a little higher than I wanted, but it was day one, and I knew it would take me on to two days to pull it totally in... so today will be much better.
I got a jump rope and gonna try to do some of that at night...start out with little steps and a couple minutes, and keep adding to it ....

I haven't jumped rope in decades - not sure if I could anymore!

Day 12, sticking faithfully to plan, the scale was up a lb. Had lots of salty stuff yesterday.

LC pancakes for breakfast - now I'm full and happy.

Yee haa TOM is outta here and I lost 4 lbs since last Monday ! dance2

Yesterday - 984 calories - a little high in fat content as I made 4 oz of ground sirloin for dinner last night. But it was yummy.

Tonight I take a Zumba class. It's fun and very very aerobic! Before the class I'll work with weights.

Day 9 of my Challenge... 4 pounds down in 8 days - not bad! Now...can I do 47 pounds in 71 more days??? That's my countdown to my vacation!

Have a wonderful day everyone!!!
