Hey PQ, you are right. I just need my HEAD in the right place. Water is never a problem for me, I drink a gallon a day! But I will pack some nuts to have to snack on in case of emergency! Good thinking! THANKS OH and 3.8 pounds is AWESOME!

Tara, yes 1/2 of a cob salad is not enough for a day! Not even close and yes, 6 carbs not enough girl!

Tara, you have to have adequate protein to protect your muscle mass. More meat! More meat! More food, you have to keep your body nourished, or it WILL rebel!

Sounds like all you ladies are doing just fine. Lets hope we are all still as optimistic on day 30!

So, survived away weekend #1, the next hurdle is this coming weekend! Easter we are heading to my parents house on Thursday and will be there through Sunday! Staying STRONG!

Question Re: It is the 30 day challenge!

Hey everyone!~!

7 days down out of the 30!! I am down offically 4.6 pounds! I am happy with that weight loss! I am working out/walking 2 miles/30 minutes a day and still coasting through Induction. I plan to stay on Induction as long as I can (give or take 5 carbs)

I was sick last night and I believe that it was a simple detox "flush" not to get gross. My body obviously getting rid of all of the yucks that were left behind!

What about everyone else? How was everyone's weekend? any one have any questions, stories, concerns?

Keep going...........................

Happy St. Patty's day all!! I'm officially burned out on corn beef and cabbage! The weekend was super - stayed on plan at Disneyland - my personal rule is to never actually eat anything IN the park. I have to be sitting and in a restaurant eating REAL food!

I'm staying off the scale, so I've no clue in that direction how I'm doing, but I feel great and am actually wearing one size smaller slacks today (ok, they stretch, but I'm in them and not dieing of pain!!) I'm going to make my offical weigh-in Saturday morning - so we'll see then how I'm doing numbers wise. Outside of that, doing well and on target. And a BIG thank you to all for the great advise, I'm eating MUCH better - strawberries and avocado have bumped up my good carb intake perfectly!!

PQ - you really only eat a few cups of salad??? I thought lettuce, due to it's extreme low carb count, was more of a freebie?

Great job Monica! I knew you could do it!!! You'll do great at Easter too!

PQ~ woo hoo!!! Your kicking the pounds to the dust.

Tara~ oh heavens I am very impressed! Disney and low carb!!! Congrats on the smaller pants!

I got a tad over 3.5 miles in today!

I'm debating what to do for Easter. We are eating at MIL's. I'm in charge of dessert and FIL requested my hot deviled eggs. The problem is MIL makes all starches. Not a green veggie in sight and I hate ham and can barely gag down turkey. Normally I just bring my own veggies etc along with a single sf dessert for me. They all know I'm med dependant diabetic so they don't think a thing of it. However this year there will be 6 people there I have never met and I sure don't want to bring any attention to it. I'm not sure what to do.

I love your idea of bringing some more food with you. I saw that on Biggest Loser too. It looks polite and sweet BUT you know how the food is prepared and and can load up on that. I usually bring my own salad dressing to my in-laws. Sometimes I have people want to cut down calories and use it too. You could always bring jell-o in a big dish for you own desert too? You can do it!

Mick - it'd your body babe - and your health is what's important. I get comments a lot, cause I basically work with some really noisy people . So, an almost constant commentary on 'what am I eating today' has become the norm for me. YET no one here knows I'm low carbing. Most people here know I've been doing Weight Watchers, and I've lost over 40 pounds doing it, so yea, they've noticed and are interested. However, when things get a tad uncomfortable, I just say - nicely - "hey, it's been a rough morning, let me eat in peace" and they do back off. Honestly, my personal opinion is that unless your stuffing a live squirrel down your throat, what you eat is no one's business. If asked, just say "oh, medical issues" and change.the.topic! I agree, bring along what you can eat and enjoy yourself!

6.6 pounds down!!!!(8 days)
I am in awe! Working out daily (30 mins) really has an impact!

Great job Monica! I knew you could do it!!! You'll do great at Easter too!
Tara~ Impressive!!!

In my purse I have some Ice Breakers for my "dragon breath"; cashews; 3 slim jims and water at hand all of the time. OH!! And sugarless Cinnamon gum!!!

I have avoided anger spouts, I have walked by cake without batting an eyelash....the candy isle at the grocery store.....just by saying to myself "If I really need something I have it in my purse!"

Everyone is doing great!!

Be Good to yourselves and everything else falls into place!!!!!!!

( I am going to attempt yoga this weekend; I dvr'd a few episodes!)

Thanks for the advice everyone. I just don't want more attention to the diabetes with strangers. You'd think after many many years of it it wouldn't bug me but I hate the look you get of total pity. Nothing to pity. I'm a happy healty(besides that) woman! I already have nieces and nephews wanting to watch me poke my finger LOL. I think I will just bring more food than MIL requested. I do do a little higher carb day every 7-10 days (like a mini cone etc) but honestly there is nothing at dinner even off plan I would want to eat. I may just eat a huge omlette before we leave too! Ugh to make it worse I'll get an easter basket which is sweet but being diabetic it is a no no.
Tomorrow is weigh in and measure day.

I got 3.5 miles in today. I realized I forget to do menus
B~ huge omlette with everything but the kitchen sink in it! L~ bacon, eggs, nuts D~ huge bowl of coleslaw and big beef patty

Monica~ Great exercise and menu!

PQ~ you are doing terrific!!1 I'm so happy for you!

Tara~ good advice! Thanks! I can't believe they would hassle you at work as they see you melting. Sounds like you deal with it well!

Babybluejay~ a strawberry and cream jello salad is a delicious idea!
