OK, I'm in. For me October will be back to basics:

Drink More Water
Exercise
Keep track of those carbs
Write it down (I hate that but it does help)

I know what you mean about writing stuff down. It's a real pain, but sometimes a very useful tool.

So far this morning I've had my usual coffee & cream, and a couple of tablespoons of blueberries in a cup of cottage cheese. Just trying something different for breakfast.

Day 1 went fairly well. I had a meeting through lunch so I managed to drink extra water there. I got my walk in on my breaks and also got a workout on my stepper here at home tonight. Now I need to go do some crunches. I didn't write things down today but that is number 1 on tomorrows list.

Nita, I keep reading that we should give up the coffee, but I'm with you I just have to have some in the morning, I drink about a cup and a half with cream. I haven't seen any adverse affects so I will continue that.

Drinking coffee or not drinking coffee never made any difference for me; however, I have switched to primarily decaf, just because I feel better not having so much caffeine. No, I haven't cut it out entirely, but most of the time I reach for the decaf. Evenings is decaf entirely, whether coffee, tea or soda. It affects my sleep. In fact, if I drink too much decaf, it can affect my sleep.

Yesterday's eating was pretty good. My exercise was walking around WalMart. By the time I got home, the old legs were groaning! LOL!

Perhaps I need to get to bed earlier so I can get up earlier to exercise. That seems to be the only time available that I'm not too tired. And the metabolism boost would last all day. I have a Gazelle, a Wii Fit, a Bean, so no excuses.

Day 2, just OK. The only exercise I got was my walking on my breaks at work. Did well with eating, but once I got home, I sat done I was done for the night. My sinus's are driving me nuts right now, and when that happens I get tired fast, hope to get that under control real fast.

Nicola, I tried some of those nasal strips, like Breathe Right, but the cheaper brand. They work really well to keep you breathing at night if you have sinus, allergies or cold problems. I'm going to try the Breathe Right brand because the other one comes unstuck after a couple of hours! Anyway, getting in enough air is vital to feeling good, and these really do help.

I'm down a lb from yesterday, 3 altogether this week. From a most recent all-time high. Don't know what caused that particular rise in weight, but it's leveling off now. I've been having cottage cheese for breakfast every day. Who knows? Perhaps that's helping.

Still hanging in there. Not exercising, due to some pain management problems, but otherwise doing ok.

Gotta go get something cold to drink!

Today was an off day for me, but I did OK. Didn't over do, haven't gotten any evercise yet though. Maybe later.

Nita, I haven't tried any nasal strips as yet but I am going to. Just need to get out and get some. I was pretty lazy this weekend so I didn't go anywhere. Guess I just needed some rest.

Sometimes we need to recharge and just not do anything. That's hard for most women. We see the dust on the furniture and have to swipe at it, see the clutter on the coffee table and have to straighten it, look at the shoes accumulated in the living room and have to cart them to the bedroom, and so on. If we ignore the stuff, it just makes us squirm. Where's the rest in that? LOL!

I bounced up 2 lbs yesterday, and they are now gone. I am making a more concerted effort to restrict my carbs. So far so good.

Sitting around waiting for Fed Ex to come.(Have to sign for something) Had a great walk yesterday @8am with the relentless Rita, who is now giving me the look as I type.

Hopefully we will get out soon. Had 3.25 " of rain since yesterday.

Hi, Lucy!

I've lost another 2 lbs, so 4 this week. Cutting way back on the carbs has helped, a lot.

Nita, Great job, That's one cheer for each lb this week! I'm happy to be here, just haven't been around enough lately, but I will try to to better with that.

It's Sat, and here I am up at 3:30am, and another work day. Between work and my sinus issues, they're both kicking my a.. At least I know tomorrow will be a day of rest!
