It has more to do with the battle going on inside my head all the time as to why me? Why me- why am I fat? why me- why do I HAVE to exercise? How dare society tell me that I HAVE to do anything except pay taxes and die! My battle is not with exercise, but with myself and when I learn the strategy to win this battle once and for all, I will truly have won the war. That is my exercise challenge for today, tommorrow and so on.......

Lisa,
By the looks of your numbers you have done very well!! You should be VERY proud of yourself! 35 pounds is a lot of weight to lose. . .and girl you have done it!!!!! Reading your post, it's as if you have read my mind and probably many more on these boards. I have lost many hours of sleep because I can't understand how I got this way. How could I have let this happen?? But you know what, as much as I hate the extra weight it hasn't changed me as a person on the inside. It's still me in here. I KNOW that I need to lose some weight and I know that society "thinks" I should. I guess when I know that I am ready the weight will come off. I am responsible for putting it on so I am responsible for taking it off!!

Lisa, this is as good of time to start as any. Are you up for this challenge? I know I am!! I have also chimed in on the other challenge to lose 25 pounds by Christmas. Just 2 pounds a week. Come on, we can do this!! Are you with me (us)?? And if you miss a day. . .SO WHAT, there's always tomorrow. Once we get a routine started there will be no more stoppin us!! Good luck and have a great Thursday.

Oh yeah, how did I get from 240 to 179? Well, to begin with I did six months of counting calories which got me down to 199. Then six months of maintenance which got be to 210. Now I have been had six months of low carbing. It is a life style change. I love it! I love how it makes me feel.

I just need to motivate my self to get to quit being so lazy about exercising.

Well, it's my TOM so my exercise was definately out the window today. . .and more than likely tomorrow. I am going to try to take my boys out for a stroll in the morning. Try being the key word there! It has gotten so much cooler here that I can't really pass up the opportunity to go outside. My 3 yr old loves to be outside so if I don't feel like doing it for myself I can always do it for him!! How's that for motivation!

Hope everyone is sticking to their plan and feeling good!! I need to work a bit harder. Take care all. . .

Hey everybody, I'm still alive and overweight!
I have been so bad it's like I have it in for myself. I started this wol and did well for over a month, then I ate some real sugar one day and blew it all for awhile. My thought process was I blew it so I'll enjoy it the rest of the day. Well this has been the longest day of my life if you know what I mean. The scales say I gained back 2 pounds, but it feels like everything I lost. So I am not going to beat myself up, but jump back up and get over here with all my friends. Today I will eat healthy and I will exercise. I'll check back in tonight. Good to see everyone.

Not so with it today. My youngest was up ALL night, so needless to say I didn't get much sleep. I will talk my husband in to going for a walk this evening if it's cool enough. He is always up for it!

I'm at a bit of a stand still I'm afraid. I don't know why and can't stay motivated. I start off really well the first few days then something happens and I crash. Any suggestions as to how NOT to do that???

I will try again tomorrow. . .

Take care everyone!

Dana,
Thank you for your kind words. I am deffinately up for the challenge!! I have a personal challenge for myself also: I would like to be 150lbs or less by Nov. 5th of this year. You see, my husband and I are celebrating our 10 year wedding ann. with a cruise to the carribean where we are renewing our vows on the island of Barbados. There are 6 other couples coming with us and I don't want to be as large as I am now. I am in a 12 now and would like to be down to a 9. I actually used my treadmill last night, which is a miracle in itself. So, if you are up for the challenge, well darn it, so am I!!

Best of luck to all of us!

Laurie,
Don't you just hate how fast the weight comes back on and how S_L_O_W it is to take it off!!! Such an uphill battle all the time! If I hear one more person say that you can't compare weight problems to alchohol or drug addiction, I'll scream! Falling off the wagon has the same effects no matter what the addiction. Good for you to hop back on and follow through. I for one am with you and I know there are many wonderful people on this site that are too!! You go for it girl!!!

Ok Lisa you have sparked something in me. I need to set a goal as you have. I want it to be an obtainable one. My goal had first been to lose weight and then it changed to being healthy which included eating right and exercising. Now I need a little more motivation. How long should I give myself to lose 5 pounds? I'm going to take the consensus of our little group and go for it

Hi again Lisa,
A cruise?? What a trip! And early congrats on your anniversary. If anything will make you lose weight it is the thought of being in a bathing suit!! I have kidded with my husband about booking a cruise then I will HAVE to lose it. Isn't it funny how our thinking is?!?! Keep your self focused on your goal and I know you can do it. I haven't been as faithful with the exercise as I should have been the past couple of days. I'm just now getting myself back together after a couple of nights with very little sleep. I'm hoping this coming week will be better for me. I just hope the temperatures don't go back up. I want to start walking again.
Have a great weekend and hang in there. You have done so well on your weight so far!! Take care!

Dana
