Thanks Dana,
Funny thing happened today.....When I awoke, I ran to my closet, grabbed my exercise ball(large one you sit on), ran outside to the garage, grabbed the pump, blew it up and worked on my abs!! It must have been one hell of a dream!!! Now only if I could remember it, it might motivate me some more. Just thought I'd share. Probably the two gowns I bought at Filene's yesterday for the cruise and the fact that they are alomost two sizes smaller than I am now! LOL Good luck on the workouts. I have been doing miserable on my water consumption!! I should just pump it intravenously while I sleep!

My exercise this summer has been on and off. Right now it is a big 'off'.

I want September to be the month I begin again and get into a routine.

I seem to always to good getting started then fizzle out along the line.

My routine is: Mon-Sun. Ab work, Mon.Wed. Friday-BowFlex & half hour walk, Tues, Thurs, Sat one hour aerobics.

Please give me your input as to whether this seems like a good plan or not.

Thanks

The key to getting back into the swing of things with exercise is to !. Be realistic and @. Make a commitment. I am going to work on a new "realistic" erercise plan today and my goal is to implement it tomorrow. I will post my plan later today. I gotta get back at it! I have come along way and don't want to go backwards!

Trixie, I have been dieting since February, 2002. The first six months I counted calories and lost 30 pounds. The next six months was for maintaining. I gained 15pounds. On Feb.1, 2005 I started on Atkins and now low carbing is a lifestyle change.

I am at a point where I am not losing weight and not exercising. I need to 'get with' and know if I have a bad day, week or even month...that I will have to find a way back...partly because I don't want to weigh 240 again but mostly because I like the way I feel as a low carber.

Maybe we can support each other.

Hello all!!
I just started induction last thursday, I have never been one who loves to exercise....I'm lucky to get through a day at work and then come home and take care of the house, dinner....you know the rest. My question is now that I've started induction, I have very little energy, not even enough to do what I normally do in a day....forget about exercising!! When does your energy level kick in and when do you start feeling better? I'm drinking plenty of water, following atkins by the book.....when will I get my boost of energy?

/anet,

Hang in there! Just a few days and you will be getting an 'energy boost' that you won't believe!
Mine took four days but it seems to vary from person to person!

Good luck! You are gonna love your new lifestyle.

Exercise? UGH! I have problems because I stand at work all day. I do get my 3 days a week in but anything more than that I fear would kill me...lol, or my feet!

Hello all. I would like to join you. I seem to get very lazy when it comes to exercise. I just got done walking about 2 miles that is a start. I am also going to start on the upper body today. Paul

Thanks IZZY!!

I will hang on for a couple more days, I swear that if it wasn't for this website and all the support from everyone I would have given up already. I'm so glad I found it!

I'm pretty lucky also that there is a walking trail near my home. I will start walking this week. Here's a TIP, if you take a big dog with you (I have a German Shepherd) they tend to force you to walk faster....LOL!!!

Take Care,
Janet

Janet,

You have a great sense of humor! You are right. When I started low carbing I started walking I took my dog Lexus (rottweiller) ........when she wants to go she 'does' and so did I! It did keep me going!

Hang in there! The results are worth it!

Okay, here's a question for you. . .how many here are tired of dieting?? I think I had a meltdown yesterday. If you are weak you might not want to read this next part. I had 1/2 a piece of left over lemon cake for breakfast, a McDonalds fish sandwich meal for lunch (with a diet coke no less!!) and let's see, what did I have for supper, oh yeah, grilled steak with potatoes and french bread. Boy did I go to bed feeling lousy!! I did a little better today but could have drank a lot more water. I managed to gain back one pound I had lost a few days ago (no real surprise). I guess I was lucky it was just one pound. I'm hoping it is out of my system and I can get back to the LC thing.

The good thing that happened yesterday and probably what kept me from gaining more weight was that I did a bunch of exercises. Yard work for two hours and played squirt guns with my 3 yr old in the evening. So, I guess I shouldn't feel too ashamed!

I will definatley try to do better the next few days!! Maybe I can get back into a pattern. I'll keep you posted. . .

Dana

Janet,

I felt terrible just about the entire 2 weeks of induction. I could barely walk up the stairs at our house! I started exercising the 3rd week, when I truly did get an energy burst. Since then, 5 days a week, like it or not. I changed my schedule and started getting up at 5 am, because I'm usually wiped out after work. I know you can do it!! There's a million reasons not to, none of them good.

Dana, jump right back on the wagon. We all make some poor decisions during this wol. (I kind of recall a night out at a brew pub with my brother). You just gotta go back to it and know your body will thank you over the long haul.

Keep the faith!

John

Dana,

Wow, I am going through the same thing as you. I started out the week with the idea that I was going to get back on track....big time! so far I have not done well at all! licorice, chocolate, ice cream.......I don't like how I feel after I get this stuff............so why do I do it?!

I am not going to give up. I have been doing great on the exercise and good on the water!

Somehow I gotta get back on track, too!

Hang in there............so will I!

Izzy, you ask a good question. I usually don't go crazy on sweets, but I know I could on chips or french fries. The other thing is alcohol!! It has other bad side effects, too, besides being a perfect fuel for your body and causing the fat burning to stop.

I've found it easier to just not have the first one, cuz I just can't stop for a while after that!

Keep it up!

Golfunit,

You are right on the alcohol. Two low carb beers is more than enough for me! Any more than that and I am in trouble.

Thanks for the support. I am hanging in there!

So far today, my exercise has been 'right on' and my food has been 'right on'!

Dana,
Don't be too down on yourself. We all "fall" sometimes. What's important is that you know it was not for the best and stopped it before it went too far. Getting back on track will make you feel so much better! Think positive. Just so you know you are not alone...I have YET to drink all my water and still opt for diet Coke, the only difference I've made is that I've switched from regular to Caffeine free, which is a big thing for me, but I'm glad I've done it! Baby steps..Baby steps...
