Is anyone still out there? We were all doing so well, I hope we catch up with each other. I'll be waiting patiently. Also would like to invite anyone else that finds in particularly hard to stay exercising or to even start, to join our accountability group. We are all new at exercising here.

Hi Lauri and Febe! I haven't done ANYTHING all weekend! I don't know why I just couldn't get motivated! I actually do know why. TOM is just around the corner, so I'm all sluggish and blah! I'll manage something tomorrow and start the week off right!

DH and I just restarted the gym routine last week. We went in the evening and worked out with a trainer 2 nights. Yesterday, we went to the State Fair and walked for hours We'll hit the gym again on Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday in the coming week.

I have to increase my aerobic fitness. I used the stairmaster for the first time and could only do 3.5 minutes before I had to stop!

WHEW!!! What a weekend! I don't think I stopped for a minute. Welcome Febe and Ginger. Hey Heather and Lauri! What happend to all the other posts? Did they not get switched over to this new format, I guess??

Well, I haven't been doing very well with my dieting (so what's new!!). My sister's b-day was the 29th and I had cake. And I think I had a few other things I shouldn't have had. So I am at a stand still with my weight. But on the positvie side I have been doing good on my exercising. I can't seem to break the cycle I find myself in every time I start to watch my food intake. I get so excited the first few days and really postive and then BAM, something happens and I get off track. Any suggestions and how NOT to do that?? I could really use them. I have set a new goal. I need to lose at least 10 pounds in the next 5 weeks or so. I make my own bath and body products and am going to have a big "party" at my church sometime in early October. I would feel so much more confident if I was a few pounds lighter. And Febe your goal to lose 25 lbs by Christmas sounds great too. Lord knows I have it to lose!!

Discipline, disciline, discipline. Don't have much but need lots of it!! Well, it's a new week. . .we'll see how this one plays out. Good luck to everyone!!

My exercise this summer has been on and off. Right now it is a big 'off'.

I want September to be the month I begin again and get into a routine.

I seem to always to good getting started then fizzle out along the line.

My routine is: Mon-Sun. Ab work, Mon.Wed. Friday-BowFlex & half hour walk, Tues, Thurs, Sat one hour aerobics.

Please give me your input as to whether this seems like a good plan or not.

Thanks
Izzy

Hi Izzy,
Wow, that's quite a regemine of exercise! You have me beat by a mile!! The only thing I would suggest is to not burn yourself out too quickly. Take a day off once and a while. I know I am certainly not that disciplined! I wish you all the luck! Hava a great Labor Day!

Argh, getting back into the swing of exercising is not going to be smooth.

Day one was yesterdsay and I did nothing. Have had company for the Labor Day weekend and have been busy. I have used this as an excuse to not do any exercise. Hmmmm........gotta get going!

Hey Ladies! This is going to be a rough week for me. I am tending (morning and night) to a friend's cat. That means I leave the house an hour early and get home an hour later each day. I know I am going to be a slug about the exercise, so I am promising now that I will either take the dog for a walk or do my walk away the pounds tape today, tomorrow and Thursday. I'll be out of town Fri-Sun, but I promise I'll do SOMETHING.

Okay Heather. . .you can't break a promise!!! Hang in there. You'll do just fine. Maybe you will have to chase that cat around the house a few times!!

I have been slacking I'm afraid. I had quite a bit of stuff to do today and didn't get around to doing much of anything as far as exercise goes. It is getting cooler so I need to get the boys out for a walk around the block a few times. I guess that will be my new goal for the rest of the week. Take a walk (weather permitting) everyday and try not to eat so much stuff that I know I am not suppose to have!!

I hope everyone else is successful at accomplishing their daily goals!! Until next time. . .

Hi Dranzie. Sounds like you are on the right track! I couldn't jog a mile if my life depended on it. I love to walk so I will stick with that! I am trying the "lose 25 lbs by Christmas" as well. I think if we all stick together we can accomplish it. It sounds like a lot but one of the girls who is also doing the challenge did the math. It is less than 2 pounds a week. When you look at it that way it is definately doable!! Good luck to you!

Exercise? What a dirty word I think about it everyday-all day-into the night and then it keeps me up while I'm trying to sleep. Took a big step though, last night I dusted off my treadmill, pulled it away from the wall, took all the clothes off of it that have been hanging there all summer and set it up in my bedroom , right next to my bed. I literally have to step on it to get in and out of bed! A suttle reminder for me to hop on it and just walk! Is it that I don't like exercise ? I don't think so. It has more to do with the battle going on inside my head all the time as to why me? Why me- why am I fat? why me- why do I HAVE to exercise? How dare society tell me that I HAVE to do anything except pay taxes and die! My battle is not with exercise, but with myself and when I learn the strategy to win this battle once and for all, I will truly have won the war. That is my exercise challenge for today, tommorrow and so on.......
