Wow Judy, you are really on a roll . Great job!

I was at 177.5 yesterday, but was back to 178.5 this morning. Oh well, it makes me happy when I see it even if does not last, I know it will take eventually .

I have a question. How much jailtime do you think I would get for seriously hurting my principal? Of course, I am just kidding about hurting her, but she is driving me crazy . She was suppose to hire a sub for me today so I could write 3 IEPs that are due this week. Well she says we can't afford to do that so I had to make other arrangements for my students. I made worksheets up for them to do in pairs and dared them to disturb me (my students can't work without bothering me). My team teacher also kept "my" students in the room without me there. I stayed late after school and I did get them finished. I know they are not written as well as they should be. I rushed through them, which I do not like to do. I feel if I am labeling a student the label should be 100% accurate. It just bothers me that she thinks it is so unimportant .

OK, I am done ranting and raving for today.

Have a great week!!

Susan - I know what you mean. I love my principal as a person, but she drives me insane as an administrator. I noticed that you've added your pic. I'm going to have to add mine. It's always nice to have a face to put with the posts.

How are the rest of you?

We're doing ITBS this week. With all the No Child Left Behind stuff that pretty much originated in our state, our people in charge are so nervous that it's terrifying to think of what will happen when we don't meet all the standards. After all, we are dead last on SATs - that's another rant altogether though!

Have a good one!

A little humor that only those on this thread will appreciate.........

Hello! You have reached the automated answering service of your school.

In order to assist you in connecting to the right staff member, please listen to all options before making a selection:

To lie about why your child is absent - Press 1

To make excuses for why your child did not do his work - Press 2

To complain about what we do - Press 3

To cuss out staff members - Press 4

To ask why you didn't get needed information that was already enclosed in your newsletter and several bulletins mailed to you - Press 5

If you want us to raise your child - Press 6

If you want to reach out and touch, slap or hit someone - Press 7

To request another teacher for the third time this year - Press 8

To complain about bus transportation - Press 9

To complain about school lunches - Press 0

If you realize this is the real world and your child must be accountable/responsible for his/her own behavior, class work, homework, and that it's NOT the teacher's fault for your child(ren)'s lack of effort - HANG UP and HAVE A NICE DAY!!!

Judy - thanks for the laugh! We all need that now and then.

OK, one week down. I've changed my routine this year, getting up at 5 am so I can exercise 5 days a week before school. So far so good on that. I did gain 1.5 lbs. this week, don't know why, but I do feel a bit sluggish, if you know what I mean. I've been downing psyllium husks every night, hope that kicks in pretty darn soon. I don't suppose having steak and tenderloin back to back nights on the weekend helped much!

John,
Don't worry about gaining the 1#. Stress and a regular schedule will set in soon. I've lost 3 or 4 pounds in the month since we came back to work........so much to do, so much to do...

Actually I thought about adding:
Press * if you think your child can do no wrong, or

Press # if there is some reason we can't seem to get it into either your head or your kid's that the kid must actually DO something to pass.

One more school joke.

One morning I was called to pick up my son at the school nurse's office.

When I walked through the main entrance, I noticed a woman, curlers in her hair, wearing pajamas. "Why are you dressed like that?" I asked her.

"I told my son," she explained, "that if he ever did anything to embarrass me, I would embarrass him back. He was caught cutting school. So now I've come to spend the day with him!"

This is my type of mother .

I am down 1/2 pound this week. It must be all of the stress, or it could be from not exercising. John, I wish I could be as motivated as you are. I get up at 5:30 just to get ready. There is no way I could exercise first thing in the morning. I really need to start forcing myself to do it after school though.

I am also having trouble finding time to drink my water. I have been drinking 32 oz. at lunch, but then I have to go to the bathroom. I do have a prep time right after lunch, but I don't want to spend it on the potty . How is everyone handling the water issue?

Well tomorrow is Friday. I am more than ready for one of your adult beverages Beth .

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Thank you all for the great laugh that you just provided for me. Susan - Did that really happen? Sometimes I invite parents to come sit with their students. I think I might suggest to some of them this tactic (only to the ones I know though )

We had a 2 hour faculty meeting this afternoon. Most irritating! The sad thing is that we meet at least once a week.

For those who will be needing adult beverages, I'll be serving as soon as I walk through the door tomorrow, so come on over! I'm even thinking about having a dress rehearsal/practice session for it tonight. Gotta make sure I don't forget how to mix 'em up!

I hope you all have a great Friday!

I'm getting at least 64oz during the day + plus 2-3 cups of coffee (breakfast and at school together). I can't face them in the morning without caffine for fuel. Thank heavens coffee isn't a factor for me. After I get home I try to do another 64. Generally I can make it until the passing period with no problem. But, if I skip the bathroom during one of those breaks there's no guarantee that I'll make the next whole period. We have 90 minute classes. Two class period length is too much for the bladder. It's a toss up whether the pregnant girl next door or I make the most trips to the bathroom.

LLLSTRIC -- get one of the sport bottles with a straw in the top. It's easier for me than counting glasses.

Hey everyone!

I have been out of here for awhile now. We have just finished our fourth week. And that means four weeks till fall break.

Gosh, I have been busy. I have given four tests this week, and I have five classes. Seems tests always fall at the same time.

Today, I attended a professional development meeting, and then a committee meeting. And next Friday is a faculty meeting.

Sounds like everyone is doing good. I am still bouncing around a few pounds. I believe my body has finally reached a point that it doesn't want to leave. Hopefully, it will decide to let a few more pounds go soon enough.
