Looks like I'm the first to get to the new board. I'll start us over again. This week, I rose to the challenge and becam a loser. Looks like I'm down 1 to 1.5 pound. The Tracker on the old board held my records. This morning I weighed in at 145.5

When I tried to get on to this board this morning it was not working. I am glad you got us off and running again.

Congrats, on being a loser. I am glad it stuck for you.

I have also been a loser this week. Hey! I just did the math and it is 5 pounds for this week. I think this is the first time since induction that this has happened. I hope this becomes a trend :-).

Well I have had my schedule changed at school again. We have 4 5th graders who we do not feel will benefit educationally from an inclusive classroom. I will have these 4 all day, for all subjects. I will also have 6 4th graders for language arts (90 min) and math (45 min). One of my students is the boy who has behavior problems. I am hoping we can get along for the entire day. None of the 5 graders know all of the alphabet. I just could not see torturing them by having them sit in with the regular ed students. This way we can concentrate on what they need to learn.

Boy, I am so glad we are back in action. I was really worried that I lost you guys.

Susan,

FIVE POUNDS IN ONE WEEK!!! WAY TO GO.....

Boy I'm glad to see others finding their way back. Like me, I also see that you adjusted your member name.

I don't envy you the schedule that you have today. Of course the way things have been going for you, it may change next week. I just found out that I have two more Special Ed. kids that are move-ins. One seems to be doing well. The other may be more problem. He has already missed the first 2+ weeks of school and I could tell that he was not motivated to get caught up. He came from a charter school. That tells me he can't work on his own. He probably went there because he couldn't work well in a regular class either. Thank heavens we have an excellent Content Mastery program. Off the top of my head, I think I only have four this semester. All are LD -- no ED or behavior problems that I know of. AT my school, the ones that have always been in "resource" math, stay in "resource" economics. The only special ed students I have are generally pretty high functioning.

Hi everyone...I am not a special ed teacher...but I am a school bus driver for special ed kids!! We have our students and schedule in common....besides the weight...eating...yadda yadda yadda....

If I set a goal...then when I finally reach that goal..I am afraid that I will use it as a license to eat..therefore..I have no goal...only to stick to this wol FOREVER!!!

LLLSTRIC, I'm not a Special Ed teacher either....just have some in my classes. My kids (HS) have been known sing "Horray for the bus driver, the bus driver, the bus driver..." after trips. I'm taking a group today to see the Lewis and Clark movie at the IMAX in Shreveport. The Lewis and Clark journey is the special topic this year for Academic Decathlon. So horray for the bus driver that will take us somewhere on Sunday of a holiday weekend.

Hey, I'm back again. School starts tomorrow for me. I'm a bit nervous about getting in the routine for the first time since LC.

Judy, I live right on the Lewis and Clark trail. I drive along the Columbia River every day to work, and there's a couple campsites along the way! I'm sure it looks a lot like it looked 200 years ago, except for the road. Not many folks live along the stretch I drive.

John,
In the last two days, I've spent about 6 hours with videos on L&C. Besides watching Ken Burns, A&E, and National Geographic, I still need to read a USAD resource and to be ready to teach it. Thank heavens most of my kids had AP US History last year and already have lots of info under their belts. Too bad we can't take a field trip to see you.

Hi, all. I'm still around. I took off to the beach for the holiday weekend. I was kinda bummed about not being able to log on before I left. I had no idea that the whole site had crashed. I'm so happy that it's back. I'm completely addicted.

School is going much better since my schedule change last week. I see that a couple of you have it really tough - specifically Susan! Bless you. I feel for you.

I ate (not so much) and drank (mostly this) like a deranged fool this weekend. Now I have PMS. It's going to be a tough week for me. Good thing I haven't weighed in a while!

Glad to be back!

Welcome Lllstric . I really think you school bus drivers have a harder job than I do. There is no way I could drive with all of those kids talking, yelling and whatever else it is they do.

John, I hope you had a good first day. I cannot seem to get into the swing of things yet. I have spent most of my time testing students since school started.

Beth, what beach did you go to? I am trying to remember where LaGrange is. I know I have seen it before. I have a friend who lives in Stockbridge. Is that close to you?

Well, I have put back on 2.5 pounds since Sat. I have been eating LC (I did have an episode with some cheese crackers Friday), but I have been drinking alcohol every day. Not a lot, but enough ( I did have a Bud Lite) . I have tried really hard to watch my calorie intake today. I have also exercised for 30 minutes. I felt so good when I saw 178.5 on the scales. I don't know why I messed it up.

When I got to school this morning (in all of the rain)my principal told me she had decided not to change my schedule after all. It would have been nice to know this before I spent time, over my 3 day weekend, working on a schedule and finding work I could do with a low group. I am going to refuse to even consider a schedule change for the rest of the school year!

I guess the good thing is that I did not eat the French fries they had for lunch out of stress. This would have been automatic in the "old days".

Susan----Way to overcome! French Fries did not rule. Now, if you can just get your principal to quit messing with things you might be able to lower that stress level.

We've almost made it through another work week. One more day to go. I am ready for the weekend. As seems to be the trend, I'll be serving Adult Beverages starting as close to quitting time as possible tomorrow evening. Everyone is welcome if you happen to be in the neighborhood!

Susan - We went to St. Pete's beach (near Tampa). It's our favorite. The Hilton that we stay at has a tiki bar right on the beach. It has an island feeling. LaGrange is about an hour south west of Atlanta. If you've ever been to Callaway Gardens, we're close to that.

It seems that I'm still doing my accidental version of the Warrior Diet. If I can manage 300 calories during the day, it's a miracle. I just don't ever get a break. I even have to beg to get someone to give me a restroom break. You don't think that lunch or restroom breaks are deal breakers until you don't get them.

Other than that, I really like my schedule. Trading my 7th grade LA for 10th grade World Lit. has been a good move for me. Luckily it has been a good deal for the lady that I switched with as well. I would have felt bad if it had become a nightmare for her.

I also started an Educational and Curriculum Issues grad. class last night. Our local superintendent is teaching it instead of one of the professors. I think it will be fun. Can you say, "NETWORKING!"

How are the rest of you?

Beth,
Sounds like your Warrior diet may extend to the evening with the addition of your new night class.

I'm all about tomorrow being Friday! This semester is starting and will continue to be rough (3 preps and new books/materials in each). But, next semester I'm walking out the door at 3:30. There are some advantages in teaching a semester class........I'll pop a top around four and mentally join you tomorrow afternoon.

Here I am Beth, but I am not going to join you with the adult beverage . I will just sip my water and relax with you. It took too long to get the 2.5 pounds from last weekend's alcohol off. Why is it that it comes on really fast, but takes a bit longer to lose?

As of this morning I am back down to my 178.5 YHEW, I did not think I would see it again. I have been really drinking the water this week. There were times when I was really worried about making it to the bathroom. I can usually get the teacher across the hall to watch my room, but sometimes she is not in her room. I have even had to leave a student "in charge". That is always fun--not!

Judy, I think I would enjoy switching students at the end of a semester, but I really do not like the high school age.

Well, I forgot to measure this week. I did not realize it was Wed. ( I hate trying to keep track on a 4 day week)and missed it. I decided to just wait until next week when I will be 5 pounds lighter .

Beth, good luck with your class. I would not want to take a class from our superintendent.

Have a nice weekend!

Oh, there are some real advantages to teaching a semester class --- especially one that is a required class. They have to pass or they won't graduate. That usually is enough to keep them in line. The good part of being only a semester is that you get rid of them before you kill them. My school is large enough that another teacher has all government and I have all economics. We swap kids at semester. So, along with recreating everything this semester I am also making enough copies to have next semester already complete, too. .........work hard today so that I can have a life later....

Weight wise, this week was an absolute flat line. Not even a .5# variation......start 145.5, end 145.5

Enjoy the weekend

Woo Hoo, The flat line took a drop.....yesterday down .5 to 145, and today down to 144. Don't know how that's happening, but I'm not about to question it. It may actually be possible to make goal by my one year anniversary at Halloween. I had just about given up that plan.
