Hopefully Dana will show up today.... hope to see you dude! I forced myself out of bed a little earlier today and just did 20 minutes on the bike. Made for an excellent start to the day. Started off with a good McDonald's breakfast - two sausage egg mcmuffins with no muffin. I'm full and satisfied! Last night was a little tempting. Just the night before, hubbie & I had a huge carb dinner - pasta galore, and then deep-dish apple pie with ice cream and caramel sauce. It was awesome! Then I came home, and he had started whipping up the leftovers. I had to say no - I told him I'm going off carbs again and I felt bad because I didn't want him to feel guilty for eating carbs. Same with the pie leftovers - he started dishing me out the pie, and I said no, so he ate the whole thing, but isn't it funny how I feel guilty for him cheating.... I wonder why that is.... Anyways, for dinner last night I had a huge caesar salad and fried up some bacon. I did have a small scoop of pasta, and I'll have to go add it up at www.fitday.com to see how much damage it did, but at least I was in control. Also, I had one TEAspoon of ice cream - not a dollup, just a small taste to satisfy my craving. I think I did great for my first day, and its just going to get easier as time goes on. TODAY'S CHALLENGE IS: get my 1.5 ltrs of water down! My water consumption used to be great, but now I'm barely drinking any, so I need to get into the routine of having my water bottle in my hands as often as possible! On the bus, while I'm replying to emails, while watching TV, I need to get back into the habit of filling my belly with water. So, today I'll make a game plan for water! I'm looking forward to Day Four to post my losses!!! If anyone wants to join in on the fun, please feel free!!! ![]() Niki162/162/129 LCing since 10/21/03

I think your doing great, I don't know what it is but I some times need that small spoon on ice cream. I can relate to feeling bad for you other half when he eat a lot of carbs, my husban does that too and I want to tell him do you know how many carbs your eating in just one serving, but it probably is not a good thing. I am getting back on track with my low carb diet I had being doing real well so I treated myself for about a week or so. Will not be doing that again. I find that if I do a protein bar in mid morning I tend to do better dinner time is hard for me because I am the only one on a low carb diet and the kids want fries, rice, pasta, candy, and there is chip around for them so I am not able to remove all the temptation around me.Water is not a problem for me MY challenge is having something sweet after dinner, I am making a comitment not to do that any more.

| Thanks P. - I appreciate the encouragement! I just finished making a calendar of the next two weeks, and looking at what days are going to give me the most temptation. Mondays are hard, because that's Football Mondays, and DH always likes to order pizza and wings in, so instead, I'm going to pick up wings and make a big caesar salad. I actually feel pretty encouraged, knowing that I now have a plan! It must be more difficult with kids. My worry is that I can cook some pretty good dinners that don't have carbs, but the fat content is high, so if my husband eats carbs during the day, then he won't be in ketosis, or even near it, and then consume a high-fat dinner. I don't want him to gain weight. Do you have to prepare two different meals for you and the rest of the family? My biggest temptation is going to be Halloween in 2 wks, so I've basically told myself that I'm not going to be hard on myself that day, and just enjoy it. I'll probably have some candy, then find a Halloween party to go to and have vodka soda drinks for the evening. I like the fat-free Jello - zero carbs and it lets you have a cup of something sweet guilt free. When I make them, I pour them into drinking glasses right away to let them set, so I can just grab a glass whenever I want. Anyways, wanted to journalize my consumption from yesterday here: 1605 calories 126g fat 34g carbs 82g protein the carbs popped up from the scoop of pasta I had with dinner. I should be able to keep it under 20g today. How long have you been low carbing? What are your biggest accomplishments? Weight loss? More energy? Easier to stick to? | Niki, I need the motivation and decided to join you. I started the induction and made it through yesterday all good until the haggen Daz ice cream called my name at midnight. Tonight I am making the prepared snack and hopefully will hold me over. No one said it was going to be easy, but I am deteremined to do this. Thanks for the inspiration. Mind you when I read your e-mail I was just fighting over whether I should get a snack from the candy machine here at work and you just knocked the fight right out of me and I had no problem resisting the urge. You came at the right time. thanks G |

any time. trust me, there will be times when I need the same kick in the can. Like right now, I've just finished adding all my food into Fitday, and I'm at 2006 calories, 126g fat, and 26g carbs, but there's ice cream in the freezer. I wanted to drizzle some Kahlua over my vanilla ice cream. I decided to come write and read posts instead. I'm proud of you. It has helped me to not go into the fridge too. We'll do it together!!! Just wait, I can just see you hitting your goal weight, and going out there to pump gas in your short-shorts... you could be like Drew Barrymore from Charlie's Angels... Anyways, get on the bandwagon with me, let's put the petal to the metal for the next two weeks, drop some of our stubborn weight, and look forward to Halloween when we can have some candy!!! (Of course, the next Sizzling Challenge starts November 1st... ) Niki162/162/129 LCing since 10/21/03

Hello all!! Hope you don't mind me joining you a little late. Today wasn't such a good day but with this new challenge, maybe I can get my butt in gear. I have also got to get my water consumption up. Does anybody know exactly how much we should have everyday? Tomorrow WILL be a good day. Hope everyone has a good one and does well. We can lean on each other and we will succeed over this battle. Shannon 210/188.5/135 175 (temporary goal) You better believe that nothing tastes as good as buying smaller sized clothes feel!!
