OK, folks, believe it or not, it's October!

This month I plan to exercise 6 days a week, with Sundays off. I'm going to be starting the Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle program. It's very similar to Body for Life, it you know that at all.

I'm going to lift weights 3 or 4 days a week, and do cardio 4 days. One day will be a double up day.

Anybody else going to be exercising to make your body a fat-burning machine??

Half hour speed walking with dog this morning. Am still looking for a good treadmill. I really want to get back to the running, but I am afraid to do that in the dark as our roads are a mess and the last thing I need is a broken body part (grace isn't one of my attributes). Goal for this month: do something (anything!) 5 times a week.

Jestey - welcome aboard this month. Great plan!

Star - Good goals. I'd like to see 20% body fat myself. I'm about 23-24 now. Are the calves still barking today?

I did K&G Street weight lifting today, this is my 6th week of it, and I'm definitely ready for something more challenging. I'm going to Portland this weekend to search for some used weights and a bench to start the Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle program.

I'm also officially going off Atkins and on to the BFFM type diet program.

Well, have another day of exercise behind me! Had to decrease minutes on stepper back to 16 as 20 nearly killed me, and still doing my hour on treadmill and 30 sets each arm with toning bands! I am doing 500 steps per day on stepper!

doing good here.....have to go to walmart soon to buy heavier weights........been doing some reading up on strength training and cardio training. The Street's recommend not doing cardio everyday as it overtires your body so have decided to do my exercise as follows and I agree with that, was starting to feel a bit burned out
MWF-1/2 hour of vigorous biking in the morning(stationary)

MWF-1/2 hour of strength training on abdomens, and lower body

TT- 1/2 hour of strength training on arms and upper body.

I also still walk on both of my 15 minute breaks at work(=30 minutes total, does anyone have any suggestions for when the snow comes, how to prevent myself from falling on the ice besides wearing my good snow boots I have? I really DO NOT want to give up my walking at work, I love it and have grown attached to all the animals on my route, believe it or not

can really feel my muscles sore today from yesterday's workout.

also my heart beat after 1/2 hour of stationary biking today was much, much better, it was 158 and that is what I need although the funny thing was after about 15 minutes I was sweating so bad and needed the fan on me for a few minutes to cool off and it was only 30 degrees outside!!

going to try to see if hubby wants to take the hour hike to the falls this weekend, such a pretty hike

Have a good hump day all

peaches - welcome!! don't worry, it's just like riding a bike....maybe it is riding a bike...

anyway, I bought some Accu-Measure body fat calipers on eBay (6.50). I did the one pinch method, and it said about 23% bf. I then found a more accurate 3 pinch method listed on the link below.

I did the test there, and my body fat is 17.8%. What a difference. I believe that's much closer to actual, b/c I'm very near goal weight, and according to Tom Venuto, that's high average. It's so nice to just drop 5% in a day :-)

Count me in. I needed a tug on my arm to get me going. I have an easy shaper machine, pilates tapes and yoga tapes. I can also walk about an hour a day for cardio. (Maybe even jog someday, just not someday soon)
I am soooooo glad I found this site.
