    Good Wednesday morning!

Yvonne, LyndaLou and Staci - it's gonna be a great month, plus Christmas and New Year's!

I did just abs this morning. I'm in the last 2 week cycle of a routine from the Body Sculpting Bible for Men (there's one for Women, too, and it's a fantastic resource). Giant sets of abs. leg lifts followed by crunches, no rest!! 4 sets of 20-25 of each exercise. I did 20 leg lifts, 25 crunches, back to back to back to back! A couple months ago, no way. It's amazing what a great machine our body is and how it loves to be used!!

Hi everyone, got in my 40 mins HIIT elliptical again this morning along with biceps/shoulders circuit training. No beer the second day was a little easier but this weekend will be hell. Got a new digital scale that also does body fat, it reads 5lbs heavier than my old analog, that was dissapointing at first but I can see I'm making progress on lowering the B/F. I'm changing my whole sig line to reflect numbers of the new scale so I don't feel like a gainer

I wasn't sore this morning! Yippy! Well I was a little, but in a good way. Not nearly what I expected. So this morning I tried out the Pilates for Dummies. Wasn't the biggest fan of the Windsor Pilates, but I guess all pilates are close to the same thing. I downloaded some different workouts on Kazaa and will be trying them out. Does anyone have a good suggestion as to a home workout video?

Later today I will be moving one of my friends. We'll be going up and down stairs with boxes....lots and lots of boxes...so I'm going to bypass any further exercise until after that so I'm not dead by that time!

Jeremy I really like your quote. Seems to fit alot of situations here lately!

That's all I know for now!

I'm glad to hear all of you doing so good! I feel kind of like a slacker LOL. I listed in my journal that I did 25 minutes on the Orbitrek last night and wanted to die afterward! I also did my Firm Abs tape and thought for sure I would be sore today...but nope, feel great! Someone remind me of that later when I workout again.
I have been reading alot about Body Flex and I ordered some off Ebay last night. I had seen the infomercials for years and thought it was to simple and to weird to really work. Who breathes deep and loses weight??? Ok, now that I hear from reliable sources that it does work...I'm in! Or will be in a week or so when the tapes arrive.

    Here's to us!!

Hang in there with the beer Jeremyh. Just be grateful you live in UT and not in Minnesota where we have the VIKINGS!! Talk about a reason to have one!! Good luck.

HAHA yvonnemn...I too am a BIG Vikings fan (just across the border in SD where we don't have our own team) I use it as motivation to work out harder. I just think of how bad they suck and it makes me mad so I push myself harder trying to get it out of my mind!

Go right ahead. Anything to make it through the season without hurting someone will be a good thing!

Tonight was interesting. I had to help move a friend out of her apartment and down the stairs....so I did stair steppers for about 1 hour 30 min! I feel my a$$ rising already! I think that's more than enough workout for the rest of the day!

Jeremy I thought the no beer for the month was gonna be easy. My roommate doesn't drink beer, and I can avoid most of the temptations. But then my reward for helping move was playing some pool and darts....AT THE BAR!!! I ended up taking a drink of water everytime I got the urge to order a beer. Lets just say the bartender brought me a pitcher OF WATER so he could stop going back and forth so much! But I didn't have a beer. That was one hard small step, but I passed it without falling! Yippy for me!

Great job Lynda Lou, my test will be this weekend when my roomie's band plays a local blues bar. Did my 40 mins HIIT elliptical this morning, I've noticed over the last eight weeks of cardio that it is harder to get my heart rate up as high, any thoughts on this? Hopefully it means I'm getting in better shape! Weight circuit today was legs and back, legs are jello after lots of cardio then the squats. Good day to everyone

John, Ive noticed you changed plans in Sept., I need to gain about 3 lbs lean mass, has your new plan helped in that regard?

Hey you all - I'm sorry to say I'm a SD Charger fan. 2-9 on the season, but one of the two victories was, yep, the Vikings.

Jeremy - good job. Blues, yeah, beer is almost necessary to listen in a bar! Unfortunately, even O'Douls is high in carbs. You're exactly right on the heart rate. You have to increase the intensity to get the HR up to where it used to be. More resistance, higher speed on treadmill, or add some incline. Just another reason I HATE cardio :-)

JudyJoy - be sure to drop in frequently and let us all know how it's going. Your energy will literally go through the roof when you get into the exercise. It has so many positive benefits, it's hard to list them all.

Good UBWO today, bi's, tri's, chest, back. I always love the pump the UBWO gives me (vain moment).

I'll be gone for the next 4 days, I'm going down to Las Vegas for a little reunion and my mother's 80th birthday celebration. I'm glad she and my dad (83) are still here to celebrate with! Of course, I imagine a few dice will roll while I'm there, too.

I hope you all will be checking in here during that time, and keeping each other...."pumped up". That was said in my best Hans and Franz voice.

    Hello!

I was on the treadmill for 45 minutes last night at 80 of heart rate. I needed to work extra hard last night because I overindulged in a sugar free desert that one of my coworkers brought to work. I also did weights on Tues night. Today is also a weight day. I upped the ab workout on Tues and I'm still sore today so I'll go back to the old ab routine tonight.

Jeremy, I know exactly what you mean about it being more difficult to get one's heart rate up. Earlier this fall, walking briskly and then walking at a medium pace was enough to get my heart rate to 75% of max. Now, I have to alway walk briskly and add in some jogging.

John, you'd always seemed sensible until now when I find out that you are a Chargers fan. I think Doug Flutie is wonderful, but you and he need a new team. I'm a Broncos fan. So I guess I understand supporting a team even if there season isn't great. Denver still has a chance at the playoffs, but they'll have to play well against KC this weekend to make those hopes realistic.

Everyone have a great day and get some excercise!

Question: anyone use a personal trainer.... my gym is offering 3 hours with trainer for 96 dollars, is that a good price, what do trainers do, I could use some help in this area from someone that has used these people.
