It depends on what you're comparing.
1 pound of muscle weighs the same as 1 pound of fat. But 1 cubic inch of muscle weighs more than 1 cubic inch of fat.

That reminds me of the old trick question, "Which is heavier a ton of feathers or a ton of bricks?". Or even trickier on ounce of gold or an ounce of silver?

Brightlady is right. Muscle is denser and thus heavier per cubic inch.

Something I like to remember is that muscle takes up less space.

The more muscle at a given weight the smaller you look compared to someone of same weight but little muscle.

Also, muscle needs more energy to exist so the more muscle the more one can eat and not gain.
