Thinking about what type of goals I really need to be setting...

"Challenge Clubs" at Low Carb Diet Support: "SO as everyone on the board knows by now... I'm trying to lose alot of weight to get ready for USMC boot camp.... and the height-weight charts are pretty specific about what I should weigh... ...."

SO as everyone on the board knows by now... I'm trying to lose alot of weight to get ready for USMC boot camp.... and the height-weight charts are pretty specific about what I should weigh... but even my doctor says with so much muscle mass can I ever get to the "military ideal" unless my bf% dropped to unhealthy levels. I know that I have the chance to go around the "scale" decision with a body fat percentage measurement...but still. It drives me crazy.

So after doing this WOE and getting so much back into working out daily... I've set my "final" goals.

1)Weight of 151 and/or BF% less than 18%
(pro-athlete range)

2)Be able to wear a size 8 or less jeans

3)Score a 300 on my Initial Physical Fitness Test for the Corps

That's It.. I've set 'em... now I just gotta keeping working at it.

MeganRose - I think these are great goals for you. And frankly, those height/weight charts are for the birds. I don't know how tall you are or what size frame you have, but those help determine what is a healthy weight. I think it is far better that you are looking at bf%. What is your target date?

Well everyone always wants the target date to be asap... but I'm not sure how my weight loss will progress over time...
...but I do know I can't leave for bootcamp until I lose it all... so I'm hoping that my birthday would be my 151 or the bf% goal. That would be June 2.
