Thanks John,
I've skimmed the diet portion of the BFFM, it very similar in design and theory to what I'm starting. Letting go of "low carb" is tough, the cereal/milk, egg sandwich, 1/3 cup pasta so far today is reaching my carb levels for a week, but I'm still not "wrecked". The pump from this morning is still with me, and I finally made a gain in reps. From all of the reading I've done so far, it looks like I've reached the intensity level in my workouts that protien/fat alone can't support. I guess we'll see in about six weeks, 171.4 this morning @ 15% fat, I'll stay off the scale until 15 March.
Thanks again,

Jeremy

Jeremy,

Although my weight hasn't gone down a bunch in the past few months, my BF has definitely gone down. Eating 5 meals a day is good, too. It's amazing what your body will burn once you get the motor going!

I love the pump!! Mondays are chest/bis day, and I think it's the best day. Gotta be a guy thing

In my current program, I've had a turkey sandwich on whole wheat with a whole baked potato side!! On the flip side, no bacon or real mayo.

Happy Monday, everyone. LBWO this morning, and I finally got the burn I've been looking for. Squats, squats, squats. So spent, that on my hour drive into work this AM, everytime I had to shift, my left leg would spasm - very intersting commute - the poor Cooper has never been stalled that often!

Tomorrow will work cardio back into the routine.

Jen,

That's great, what did you do differently today. LOL at image of leg on clutch spasming.

I did chest/bis today. It's the last week of cycle 1 on Body Rx. I've enjoyed this part, building strength. 3 sets of 4-6 reps, 2-3 min. rest in between sets (i couldn't wait more than 2 ever). I've definitely pushed up the weights, perhaps it's all mental!!

have a good one

John:

I upped the weights by 5 pounds, and I made sure that I was going down far enough for the squats (thighs almost parallel to ground). I also did a bunch of the dreaded lunges, and deadlifts. And I did all slow cadence, 10 count down, 10 count up. Worked for me this time.

Hello to everyone and congradulations on your efforts. I had a good week.
M-weights and 45min cardio
T-45 min cardio
W-45 min cardio
T-45 min cardio
F-weights and 60 min cardio
Lost 4lbs and increased weight on all lifts.
But my most important accomplishment was I have been tobacco free for 1 week!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning,

Today was shoulders/arms, just 8 mins cardio to warm up. Lots more work than the regular circuits, 3 sets each of 7 exercises. Instead of the usual burn for the day, I've got the soreness for 2 days like when I started out in Oct.

I'm using the BFFM diet plan along with the Men's Health hardbody program now. I'm kind of suprised, I tripled the amount of carbs I'm eating (all healthy kinds) and it didn't make me sick. I had my first egg sandwich in over a year the other day. I also noticed I can work out longer/stronger, I'm not sure if it's the carbs/glycogen levels or if it's mental, but the weights have gone up 10% or so in my last two workouts.

Congrats LLB, tobacco free is my next goal, I just haven't been in much of a hurry to do it.

Have a great Monday!

Hey LLB - great job on the tobacco. I quit smoking 2 yrs. and 6 months ago as of 2 days ago. One of the best things I ever did. In a few weeks, the cravings will go away. It's good you're working out, that will help.

Jeremy - it's a physical fact that you're going to have more energy available to work out with. I also was lucky enough to not have any issues with my body not liking the change of diet. I can't tell you how good that first sandwich tasted!! Or, the first baked potato (although I put on fat free sour cream.) Just keep your carbs in the "clean" category, and there shouldn't be any problems. I'm trying to think back to BFFM, it's taper the carbs (as far as starchy carbs) and up the carbs every 3 or 4 days so your body doesn't get too used to the same thing?

Jen - good deal. I guess you were ready for a little jump in weight. Deeper squats probably stimulates your muscles a bit, too.

hvoeller - good job. I know Montana can get pretty frigid!

Good Tuesday morning to you

Jen - I don't think I could successfully exercise any other time. I'm much too lazy in the afternoon.

Carolyn - never a bad thing to give the body some rest, that's when you do your muscle-building.

Back/tris today. My tricep strength has really improved over the last 6 weeks. I've enjoyed this strength-building cycle #1 on Body Rx. It's good to find those limits. I still haven't ever tried a 1 rep maximum-lift set, cuz I don't have a spotter. It would be interesting, though. Actually, I'd probably injure myself...

Hello! Well today is my day of rest except for walking my child to school and it was warm enough today to do it so I did. It is a pretty hilly walk and it sure makes you feel it in your legs...My son complains the entire way but it is good for him. Talk to you all tomorrow.

Good morning, folks. UBWO this morning, then walked about 1.5 miles as I had a meeting in our other building. It's a beatiful morning here and I feel great, but I am HUNGRY for some reason - I hate that. I had a big bowl of Maggie's cereal this morning, which normally ties me over until lunch - not sure if I can make it to 12:00 today before I have to eat.

Have a good one, everybody!
