Good Evening!

I spent the day steam cleaning my carpets. That counts for LOTS of exercise. I had to keep going over and over to get all of the water up. When DH came home and saw what I had been doing all day he wanted to know why I had not hired it done. I do not think they can get it as clean as I can and I kept forgetting to call and set up an appointment. OH well, I have the living room, dining room, hall and office finished. I just have the master bedroom and the kids room to do. I will hopefully get to it on Friday. Tomorrow is a shopping with a friend day. That is if I can move my aching muscles .

I don't eat anything I find in the woods. No matter what kind of a trail it is on . I had an aunt who always picked weeds out of the yard (dandelions) and cooked them. I thought she was nuts and there was no way I would eat them. I still do not like the cooked greens.

Tee hee, Maggie, my little subliminal challenge must have worked! You get a big GOLD STAR for that one!

You are going strong!

LOL too at Rob and the horse hockey scented/flavored violets...hope they were extra-tasty!

I'd say a mouse's ear is about the size of the nail on your pinky finger - a squirrel's ear would, I should think, be somewhat larger than that since the rodent is about 10 times as big as a mouse!

Anybody got a good link to a picture of a morel??? I'd like to scout my yard for some when it's the right season!

That will count as exercise, right??

Yup, Char, it worked! LOL!

Quite a site it was, too. Bleary eyed and snarling the whole time I got through my list AND ready for work on time, but ultimately the place was suitable for .... (da-da-da-DUM!) .... the cleaning ladies! I don't know why I always manage to turn this place into a landfill just prior to their visits. For anyone who's never had, I learned early on that they are NOT here to pick up after me, they are here to clean, and they can't clean around inordinate clutter. Actually, having a cleaning team (they're sisters and such wonderful people) forces me to keep the visible areas of the house (do NOT open closets - which get a little worse every time I do one of these hurried pick-ups) in some kind of acceptable order most of the time.

Attached is a fair pic of some morels.

WOW Maggie, those are fantASTic pix of morels!!! I have violets ALL over my acre and a quarter yard.........I've never even thought to taste them (and there's no extra m-NER flavoring in them either, LOL)

Mouse ears are the size of a woman's thumbnail I would say. I used to breed them for the snake my daughter had as a pet. NEVER again!!!! (mice are sooooooo smelly)

I was a TOTAL tater today. I just could NOT wake up this morning and worked all day in a fog. I came home, perused LCE a bit and went promplty to bed. DH woke me 3.5 hours later and I still feel like I could go to bed and sleep the whole night through. We'll see how late I 'm able to stay up tonight. I did do some heavy box moving a bit at work today and the usual running around the entire place several time, including the warehouse, but that's it.

It was a gorgeous 65 here today and tomorrow it's going to go downhill. By saturday the lows are going to be back into the friggin' 20's. I can't believe how cold it's been this spring. These 60something degree days just won't last!!! I have a feeling we will have a fairly coolish summer with max temps in the low 80's, which is fine with me. I remember one spring, when we did a druidic ritual in the back 40, with drums and a bonfire, and spring NEVER woke up. I think we scared it back to sleep. But that summer was awesome with mild heat and low humidity, my absolute cup of tea. At least that's what I keep telling myself is going to happen to keep me on the optimist side of thinking.

Barb - 1983, when my oldest ds was born had a cold spring and a hot summer. 1992, when my middle ds was born had hot spring and a cold summer. And 1995, when the youngest was born had a normal spring and an EXTREMELY hot summer. (Because of pregnancy and birthing I remember those years). Was it one of those years that you did the ritual? I sure hope you're right about a mild summer, but I'm kind of expecting the reverse.

For the life of me, I can't remember what year it was. I know it was after 1990, 'cuz that's the year we bought this house. I want to say it was maybe '94, but can't be sure. Oh well, it will be what it will be. Que sera, sera.

Maggie, thanks for the pics - I'm pretty dang sure I've seen those puppies in our yard - hollow stem, huh?? And so now the next obvious question - what's the best way to cook them?

Barb, LOL at the image of the back 40 celebration - I'd like to have been in on that one myself.

No exercise yesterday, since it was go out to dinner night, but back on the elliptical today. 'Course I did run my bunz off at work so I'm gonna count that.

Actually the scales have taken a downward turn of late, must be the kefir from Maggie's babies...LOVE THAT STUFF!!

Char, I can just imagine what our neighbors were thinking. We were out there with drums and other such noise making devices, stomping the ground yelling, "Wake up Spring, Wake up Spring." It promptly went back to sleep. And of course it was March 21st and one of the coldest days. I think it was 40 something while we were out there with a brisk northerly wind. We had fun though, but dang if it didn't stay cold forever.

Just got back from Curves. I dam* near slept through the whole thing. I am sooooo tired. It will be closed tomorrow and Saturday, so I guess I will go in 4 days next week, unless it ever warms up here, I might opt for some yard work. And ohhhhhhhhh is there a LOT of yard work to do......oh my.

Alice - Thank You for the link. I checked it out but will have to spend an hour or two there to really give it a go.

MAggie - You've been marked fro extra credit

Susan - Carpet cleaning is hard work. I need to do mine soon.

Charski - They had a slight hay flavor.

Barb - glad you got a taste of spring even if mother nature pulled the plug on it for a while longer.

A friend called and asked if I'd like to make some money so i said sure. So i helped her sping clean for a couple hours. Mostly vacuuming, washing windows and walls. She asked if I could come back next week to continue. Sure I will it's good exercise. But just in case it isn't I went to the 1/4 miles track and did 9 laps in 33 minutes and 32 seconds. which is close to 4 mph. I was lapping some poor old guy who gave me a dirty look every time i did it.

My exercise for today was shopping. I have to drive over an hour to get to a decent shopping mall. So since today was payday a friend and I went to spend our loot. We left home at 9:30 and did not get back until 6:30. My feet and legs are killing me. I also found some really good buys .

The weather here has been very nice all week. Today it was 80. I am not sure what the forecast is, but I hope it is nice and sunny on Sunday. We always have an Easter egg hunt for the kiddies.

I am babysitting tomorrow for my 3 month old grandson. My son-in-law has an appointment in Cols. They are doing more tests to prepare him for his surgery on the 23rd. Please keep him and my DD in your thoughts. Barb, I mentioned giving up sugar to him. He was not very receptive to the idea. Maybe after they do the surgery he will be more willing to consider it.

I am tired enough to go to bed right now.

Wow, Rob! I don't know if I can get up to 4 mph without running. LOL! Short legs, short stride and all that.

Barb, I'm going to need to start some yard work soon, whether the weather changes or not. I forsee myself mowing with gloves and earmuffs .... blah.

Long day at work and still way to "cool" to suit me.

I'll shut up before I start ranting.

Question Re: Couch Fauxtato April Activity Challenge

I Am Still Not Getting Any Replys In My Email. I Tried To Fix It , But It Didn't Work...I Don't Know What To Do.. Anyone Know What's Wrong?

Well I found out that when the board changed over it reverted back to my old email address... so I changed that... I just got a notice from a forum. then it said no more would be sent til I visited the board...IS THIS THE WAY IT'S WORKING NOW ?? I guess since I was ill for a few days things changed a lot... and it's taking me awhile to figure things out.....

I still can't get the time right, no matter what I do......
