| LOL @ Slow Burn. Maggie. I can't get aggravated at Mike. The situation between him and his father/step mother was half to blame for him quitting high school and living on his own at 17. The kid needs guidance and support and I seem to be good at that. If I had more time I would have sat him down and shown him how to do his taxes himself. His federal took me 3 minutes to complete, North Carolina state tax form is so confusing it took me 25 minutes to complete. This for someone who used to Audit 150 page corporate tax filings for my old Bank. Mary Kay - 3x a week at curves is good enough. Barb - Great! on the 2 pound whoosh. Congratulations. I did a nice 3.5 mile walk at the lake yesterday. High was 76 yesterday. Today 81 and tomorrow 84. Whoa, this is spring not summer. Weighed myself this morning (even though my official weigh-in day is Sunday) and I am exactly the same weight I was last Sunday morning. But that is to be expected from me in a week that included a bar of cream cheese. :(

| well, minimum. so nice out I WILL TAKE A WALK. later, gotta go do the Curves first thing this morning. Got me a pedometer/radio thing - Eddie Bauer- supposed to be cool, but so much stuff on it I'm not even sure how to work it. First thing I did was leave the headphones in it, which leaves the radio on and killed the battery. Finally got a new one, so gonna try it again. I read where McDonald is supposed to be coming out with adult Happy Meals - supposed to be a salad, healthy lifestyle booklet, and a pedometer. That should be interesting. some time next month, I think. Weather is beautiful here. but supposed to go to my Moms today. on the motorcycle. and I have some studying to do this weekend. Taking a SQL class next week and I gotta refresh from the one I took earlier this year. So easy to forget if you don't use it all the time.

| Well good weather has finally arrived in Hooterville! So, the plan is to wrap up "The kNee" and do yard patrol in readiness for the first mowing. It's actually feeling very good, but I don't want to re-injure it by not paying attention to what I'm doing. The ace bandage gives me enough mobility to get stuff done. I'm not sure if it provides so much stability to the knee as it gives me a "reminder" not to go trying to pivot on that leg. Whatever. Also time for deck furniture to get out of the basement and planters to be put out and filled. I'm working on a list. Have a great ride, Mary Kay! Sounds like a wonderful day to hit the road! Good luck on digging out your bike, Barb. And CONGRATULATIONS on your recent loss! Rob, you've been fantastic with your walking! Cream cheese notwithstanding, you're like the roll model on this challenge!

| Well, I did well on my list and no further infirmities to report. My deck is now mostly "furnished" for the season. All the furniture out and cleaned, but no plantings yet. This part of the world, Memorial Day weekend is the traditional "safe" start for tender plantings. 'Course, one year I had my tomato plants freeze to the ground the second week of June. LOL! My activity for the day included tugging, lifting, hauling and cleaning. On and off for most of the day. I finally did sit down and enjoy my deck for a while, after which it was useless to attempt further hard work. Tomorrow, I have a couple of branches to take down and that's it for "hard work." The afternoon is slated for the grocery shopping that I didn't do today and a stop at Dick's Sporting Goods. I need some high test fishing line to repair a couple of my wind-chimes, which took a beating at the end of last season during a pretty bad storm ... and! It's time to lube up my reels and restring them in anticipation of fishing season!

| I decided to try a new way of walking today. turned my foot over and stepped on the top of the foot. OUCH!! It doesn't hurt to walk on, just came back from my first outdoor walk of the season. (not counting the park with DH). but it is swelling up and turning pretty colors. The only time it hurts is if I leave it in one position too long (so tomorrow morning should be interesting. Glad it was the left foot though - I still worry about the one with the plate/screws in it. I have spent the last 2 decades avoiding working out on the yard due to 'allergies' and the 'asthma'. and now it doesn't seem to matter anymore. I've promised myself to pick up the back patio (which I don't think we have really seen for about 5 years) - and want to rip up the area in front of the front patio. Was 'landscaped' when we moved in, is now pretty much weeds and dead bushes. DH and DS do the lawn and outside landscaping, this just has been ignored. I think I'll make it my little patch of grass.

Thanks for the well-wishes! Anyway, on to more pleasant subject matter...you all seem to be doing great! I am happy to report I am back amongst the living. Had pleasant exercise session with BF last night and today I was busy, busy. Looks like we have all been bitten by niceweatheritis (the desire to clean up ones indoor/outdoor surrroundings, ride bikes, walk for long distances, exercise, and just generally feel great, caused by a sudden positive change to weather patterns) I was out trimming these out of control hedges of mine today. Dogs and I also had a nice walk. Softball game tomorrow. I have invited the AFLAC!!! duck as my guest.

| Mary kay - I bought the same pedometer and am having problems too. It has too many functions and it keeps resetting itself. The radio is nice though. Sorry about your foot. Maggie - Congratulations on getting a lot of your list done. Just remember what Stephen Wright said: "there's a fine line between fishing and standing on the shore looking like an idiot". LOL LOL @ Tara's bout. I did a 4 mile walk at the lake and the weather was just beautiful. I need to take a page from my fellow challengee's books and get my garden (conatiner gardening) in order. It's definitely time in this part of the country. I usually am up and running by the beginning of April. This week is the herb festival at the regional Farmers Market. So I should have my herbs by next week.

| Had our first softball game of the season today. My team got crushed, but I had a good game...even had an unassisted double play. At work now and tired, tired, tired.

Great work, Tara. I hated working night shift! Even when that was my regular shift for a while, by 3:30 I'd be bouncing off walls! Mary Kay, I hope your foot is on the mend from your creative walking experiments. :( Well, I suspect that my activity for Sunday wasn't the highest quality. The branches are done, but that wasn't as much work as I thought it would be, and little other outdoor activity took place as thunderstorms were threatening for a while. Should have made a longer list, as I felt happy to sit on the deck watching the furkids play with each other and play fetch with Brutus a bit which turned out to be pretty humorous. The gang of three kept running after his fetch toy, too, so he'd run after it, but then had to just stand there and wait for the cats to examine it and walk away before he could pick it up and bring it back.

| Tara - Good going on the double play! Maggie - sometimes watching the furkids play is worth goofing off for. Yesterday started off great. I was at the park before 10:00 a.m. and the temperature was in the mid sixties! I couldn't stop myself from walking. I did 5.5 miles and woud have done more except for a stitch in my side. But then I negated that exercise at the cookout.

| OH MK, I hope your ankle/foot will be on the mend soon. Turning colors though isn't a good sign. Rob, if we can't deviate from this woe once in awhile, we might go plum crazy. I haven't found those episodes to kill things for me at all. I do make an effort to do a little more physical activity when something like that arises though and I think that works pretty well for me. Oh Maggie, I'm so happy for you!!! The nice weather has finally come, but I'm afraid the Midwest is in for another cool front, shortlived I hope!!! Pretty soon I will be complaining about how HOT it is, LOL. WTG Tara on the softball!!!! I bought a cushiony seat cover for my bike, but don't know when I will try it out. I also took a look at baskets. I don't care how dorky it will look to have a basket on the front and two on the side. I want to be able to bike to the store once in awhile, gives me incentive. It's only about 2 miles away, so not too difficult to do (if there are baskets in which to put my purchases.) Just got back from Curves and I made it through another afternoon without having to take a nap, WOOOHOO!!!! :jumpgreen

| Ankle is fine. just a little bruise (may have hit the door on the way out) and I did a 2-1/2 mile walk last night. Which just happened to go past the Curves. not that I stopped in. they were closed by that time. But I can do it. I can walk there if I have time. and get back, if I have water! I'm in classes this week, but did find the curves near the class place. thinking I will try, but no promises. Just screws up my week.

| Barb - The bike will be a nice addition to your exercise regimen. Mary Kay - Some weeks you just have to chalk up to too much to do. Get in what you can. I only walked 3 miles yesterday but managed 4 miles today. Then I had to go and undo all the good by making a 3 minute chocolate cake with homemade whipped cream and strawberries and sugar free syrup. But I'm not a complete fool, I split it with my sister.

| Great work everyone! I'm a very dormant spud at the moment. Over the course of the last several days - like since last Friday - several of the people who are closest to me have had a number of medical problems (heart attack, stroke, herniated disk, multiple leg fractures of the tibia/fibula) and I've been trying to be "support central." Fortunately that involves some "running", so I'm counting that as activity. I think I'll count the anxiety, too.
