Hoorah! I weighed in several times this morning just to be sure....I guess it is true! I have a two lb loss for the week. So now I am 319.5. That is the rate that I need to continue to meet my 4th of July challenge. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can. Probably no swimsuit this summer but fewer mumus (moomoos?) for sure!

I am down to 149.5 lbs. thats another 1.5 lbs for me, I hope I don't gain it back when all this stress and turmoil is over. If I wasn't so stressed, worried & dog tired I would do the happy looser dance.

Oh, April. I am so sorry about your husbands knee situation! I know he must be so frustrated! My dh tore his miniscus several years ago (had the surgery, etc), it was not a fun time for us at all. I will be praying for you! ((hugs)) dh WAS able to continue at work after he recovered...will your hubby have the surgery?
Congrats on the weight loss!! 151 *sigh* I cant wait!

Default July 4th with a bang

I am so proud of myself for drinking all my water amount today. 1/2 my weight in ounces is a lot! I feel better. As for eating I went over on my usual carb amount but I've been exercising a lot - cleaning and did exercise bike. I hate this blah weather and I think it is why I over did my carb. Luckily I only have legal carb things around that are easy to eat.

Down another 1.5 lbs to 148. I know this rapid weight loss is not good, I just hope I can get a handle on things before it spins out of control.

As far as the surgery, he had knee surgery 2 yrs ago and did fine until this incident. He says he is going to try and wait until the fall to have surgery this time, if he doesn't blow the knee before then. I don't think he should wait until fall, nor I am sure will the Dr, but all I can do is support him. Things are a little better, but still not back to normal. And unfortunately when his really busy long days start right before he goes, things may go down hill rapidly for several days. All I can do is hang on and pray for relief. Hopefully things will be better when he gets back and things calm down some.

Well the whoosh fairy finally visited me and I'm down to 228.5. That leaves 8.5 to my July 4th goal.

Thumbs up Re: July 4th with a bang

Down another 2 lbs. I am normally a slow loser. So I set my goal for only 1 1lb/week to make it realistic. I was suprised at being down 3 the first week! I attribute this to the following:

1. The main reason is fewer calories. My mouth is still sore from surgery last week and it still hurts a bit to chew, so my total intake has been less. One meal per day has been a protein powder shake. Calories do count - even low carb ones. The trick is not to go into starvation mode.

2. I have been exercising religiously.

3. I was probably carrying a little water weight last week, which came off quickly.

My challenge for the day is to survive a family gathering tonight with a lot of food available. I have to remember to stay the course and have the will power to do so.

Looks like you are all doing great!!!!

Well, I just got off a weekend of the high-carb merry-go-round...I went as a chaperone with our Middle School youth to camp. Biscuits, gravy, pecan rolls, mashed potatoes, fried foods, pizza, chips, Need I say more? Well I was brave yesterday morning, and got on the scale...it was 206.5! I figured it was gonna be bad, but I only put on about 5lbs (which I know I will shake off this week). This morning, I got back on and it was 204.5, so I've already shed 2 of the extra lbs yesterday. Lots of real LC foods (no LC products, except some LC ice cream) and LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of water.

Hopefully, I will be able to post a loss next week, and break through the 200lb barrier!

Thumbs up July 4th with a bang

I have e-mailed me the first day of each month to try on my smaller clothes. Over the years I have kept a few in each size down to probably 150 lbs. I didn't try on any last week since TOM was visiting but did today and the pants I couldn't even zip finally did! Even though I've been a very slow loser lately I definately am losing inches! The whoosh fairy should visit soon I hope. Plus with all the exercise I've been doing I have to be gaining muscle while losing the fat so that is why that scale hasn't been showing any movement I'm sure. Anyways, I'm just real excited about my pants finally fitting again and my favorite shirt I wore with them. It's so hard to stay motivated wearing clothes I had since I was 296 so I'm going to go through them today and donate. In my bigger clothes I just don't feel thinner. I'll never regain this weight as I don't want diabetes to return so no reason to keep them. By the way everyone - I love all your support you've given me these past few months. You guys are the best!
