| I did exercise when i wanted to read today. I pobably got in about 15 minutes, not as many as I was aiming for, but better than I have done yet. So far, the leg curls have not affected my v. veins the way the leg lifts did, yea! I also decided that the price of logging on to the 'puter is 16 oz of water. Today is the first day that I have met my water requirement in weeks! |

| The water aerobics is really hitting different muscles - I'm quite achy (good achy) this morning. abs especially - we did a lot of resistance work with 'noodles' yesterday. I'm off to curves this morning - I'm really going to try to get into the habit on these water aerobics. make it my scheduled to be gone from 10-11 every morning. got 2 new swimsuits yesterday - 1 that fits now, 1 for several months down the line - store was having a 1/2 price sale and why not! I can actually wear the second one, but not ready to out in public yet If it keeps going well, I'll still need another one for FL next march.

| Hey taters... Happy Independence Day Weekend! How are ya'll celebrating? We're going camping tomorrow into Monday (wanted to make it a whole weekend, but I took an OT shift tonight...grrr) I worked out at the gym this am after leaving work. I have to do the cleaning today that I have been putting off all week, then go back to work at 5:30. At least I have stuck with my dishes challenge, so I don't have to start off with a sink full of dirty dishes MK, way to go on the water aerobics! Glad you are enjoying it. Cynthia, now that's discipline! If only I could get stuff done before I get online. Barb, Oh My God! That looks fantastic! You mean to tell me that is ALL painted on? Even the lattice? Unbelieveable. Maggie, Rob, 'HI!' Hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th! And as I always say, "Buckle up! There are idiots out there!"

| Maggie - I agree with your second guess, I was just next. LOL Barb - That is so very well done. Congratulations! That green color looks very much like my kitchen color. But it's hard to duplicate colors exactly with pictures. Tara - Fartlek . Yep I'm a member of the please annoy me club too.Mary Kay - Sounds like the water aerobics is fun and effective. Great! Cynthia - Good going on the workout. I have to avoid certain moves when I do my aerobics workout tape. Otherwise I pay a very high price in pain. As for me - Walked 4.2 miles at the lake yesterday. I have 0, none, NO ambition today. Have been up since 6:00 a.m. and haven't done a Da**ed thing.

| I dragged myself to Curves this morning, just wanted to sit around and do nothing. Boy oh boy is it getting humid here. We're supposed to have storms ALL weekend, grumble, grrrrrrrrr. I ran into a lady who started asking me questions about LCing, 'cuz I was talking to the Curves lady about it. We jabbered (well I jabbered) for a good 20 mins to her. I thought, "What if I organized a "class" on LCing properly and CHARGED for it. I wonder where that would lead." I have to think about it. The "support" group thing didn't take off like I had hoped, but if I charge for it, maybe they will come. I could probably arrange something through the GoodCarbs store people. (and pay them for the use of their store too.) Hmmmmmmmmmmm, something to think about. Yeppers, those ivy leaves are all hand-painted on. I made myself 5 templates of leaf shapes and just repeated them. I will do the same with the morning glory leaves too. I will hand paint the flowers as I go without a template. Can't wait to start painting on the dragonflies, ladybugs and water droplets too. It's going to be a work in progress for a very long time. I just wish the picture was better!!!!!! OH and I will be laying in more shadows under the lattice work after the leaves are done, so I don't waste time shadowing somewhere that's going to get covered up.

| I drank the water again, but did not read as much as yesterday! I just did not have time! I did at least do a minimum of "work" on the gym. More leg curls, and some "butterflies" for my arms. No exer-bike today tho. Barb, I cannot wait to see the finished product! I am sure it will be amazingly lovely. Mary Kay, the water work-out sounds like a great thing! I would like to get in the pool, but I have issues with my hair, lol. Congrats on the 2 new suits. Tara, we also had planned on camping, but decided to just stay home, BBQ, and everone else will enjoy the pool while I catch some sun, and enjoy a good book. We will take in a local fireworks show for the evenings activities. Rob, 4.2, Not too shabby! I like the idea of walking, just not the actual "getting up off of my rear and doing it" :-) Maybe someday.........naw, definately someday! |

| Well, I'm off from work and totally out of my routine, except for the hand weight on the coffee table. I'm going to have to find some way to make it into a centerpiece ... maybe arrange a few dried flowers around it? ![]() I'm doing enough running, bending and stretching (yard & garden) to losely qualify as "activity", but the arms are getting more work than the rest of me since I now include "end of every chapter when reading" as a reason to do a set of something. Hope I don't wind up looking like Popeye the Sailor Man. .... nah. I've mostly been reading on the deck and there's no weight there. heheheh.

| Hey taters! Happy 4th! I've already gotten my dogs to the park...Gawd, is it humid here the past few days! Got to cut the grass now and finish cleaning so the pet sitter doesn't think I'm a complete slob. Then we're going camping...and it's supposed to start pouring and violently storming about the time we're supposed to head out. If I hadn't rearranged my entire schedule this week so that I could have tomorrow off for camping, I am convince it would be sunny skies the whole time...(boy, that's arrogant, isn't it -the weather revoloves around me. ha) Anyway, whatever you taters are doing for the 4th, have a safe and enjoyable day! (Oh, and activity today: As far as I'm concerned, cutting my grass is worth 2 days off, maybe more!)

| Barb - Gee it gets better and better, can't wait to see the end result! Cynthia - Kim wrote the following in my journal: rob... why IS that? i just dont get it... how can we possible dread something that feels so good when your done.. (no i am not talking about BABIES PEOPLE!!! *L*)... exercising .. walking.. it ALWAYS makes ya feel better... so what is the DEAL with this EFFORT to get going? and I told her It was one of Newton's laws "a body at rest tends to remain at rest". Maggie - I still haven't gotten around to getting my hand weights out. They're kept a whole 10-12 feet from where I sit watching Tv. And there are NO Buses! Tara - The weather can't possibly revolve around you, It revolves around me. Have a fun time camping! Did only 3 miles yesterday because I have a memory like a sieve. I made a mental note on Thursday not to go to Taglewood on saturday because of the concert. Evidently my mental notepad is out of paper because that's where I went. Half the park was sealed off. So i had far less ground to walk on. Happy Fourth Everyone!!

| LOL, you all make me laugh.............that's why I LOVE this thread!!!!!! It'll be funny to see which one of you the weather REALLY revolves around, HAHA!!!!! Hey Maggie, you might have something there......................a handweight center piece...........what a great idea!!!!! ![]() Cynthia, you can do it!!!!! We're going to a local "Taste Of" (Lombard) and we will be parking at my in-laws' house. It's a fur piece to walk to the festivities, so therefore, I am going to indulge myself in an ear of corn. I figure with the walk there and back, I will have burned off the sugars. And we walk at a pretty fast clip.............just want to get there and plop down in our portable chairs and watch the sky show. Talk about the weather revolving around oneself, I think it revolves around ME!!!!! HAHAHAHAHA.

| not so much activity today. although........... I did probably burn lots of calories in the pool (I finally made it in the water!). I spent about 10 minutes trying to get my entire body on a slender raft. I don't know who laughed harder, me, or dd! It was not meant to be, LOL! I finally made it into the "ring" float, lets just say I wouldn't let anyone photograph me in that position, with a large portion of my anatomy sticking out of the bottom of the ring!! But it was nice to be in the pool, finally! |

| The weather did cooperate, what a lovely evening. We did walk the 7 blocks from my in-laws there and back. I did eat the one ear of corn. It wasn't all THAT good!!!! It was sweet but a little tough. I didn't even want another one. I had a diet pepsi too. That all. We ate before we went, so we weren't tempted by all the fooooooooood. The fireworks were awesom, 40 mins worth, and they had patriotic music playing the whole time........very cool. I'm not going to Curves until Weds. since they are closed today. I am planning on going thurs and friday too. So today I will be weed pulling again, since I got off work early. That will be my workout for today. WAY TO GO Cynthia!!!!! You go GIRL!!!! You took the first step, good for you!!!!!

| Barb - Good job on passing all that food. I wouldn't dare go to the taste of the triad they have here in Winston-Salem. They have everything from freshly baked bagels to bananas foster to wine tasting. Cynthia - I'm laughing at a mental image of you trying to get on that float. I can never get on those da**ed things myself. We had pouring rain a lot of the time yesterday. Lots of cool fireworks (illegal ones as well as legal) and way more food than I should have eaten. Got caught in the taco chip web again. must ahve eaten an entire bag. We won't even mention the low carb beers. But before I went to the gathering I did a 4.5 mile fast paced walk. So maybe I didn't gain as much as I should have.

| When I got home from work today, there was nobody home (read"no audience"), so I decided to hit the pool again. Stayed for away from the floats, just swam the length of the pool til my arms gave out. (I can't "kick" in the pool, I noticed last summer that it hurts my legs) Drank my water before logging on, yay! I also alternated leg curls, bench press and butterflies on the gym to allow for plenty of reading time tonight, lol. I actually broke a sweat *gasp* I think that as long as this heat holds, I will try to get in the pool everyday after work for a few laps. It seems to perk me up, so I am not too worn out for the evening ;-) Rob, hope the scale is nice to you! I am sure that the walk helped. Barb, If you run out of weeds, I know where there are a few acres that need attention!Glad you were able to mostly stay away from the fooooood, lol. |

| Hi Taters, looks like you are all off to a fairly decent start to July! Barb, I love your faux painting - it looks wonderful already and I can't wait to see progress pictures. That's gonna be awesome when it's done! Maggie, LOL at the handweight centerpiece. Maybe you'll start a new home fashion trend - we had "shabby chic" now we can have "weighty and wonderful" or something.... Rob, that chip monster is a mean one, isn't it? I stay far far away from those things. And too many beers, LC or not, always helps me to lose any resolve I had to start with. Ugh. Tara, you always crack me up! And you swimsuit ladies - good on you - keep up the good work, both of you. Now as for me, I actually got on my elliptical today, on a DAY OFF for pity's sake, and had the Commitments blaring in the background. I just love them! So once again I will resolve to hit that ol' elliptical at least 3 days a week for the month of July. Let's hope it's a better month than June! Char
