| I'll post more pics as the work progresses. I snapped a photo of some of the junk I'm weeding, so I'll post that too. This pic shows both the Virginia Creeper AND the Wild Grape Vines. The grape is a bear to pull, with roots going very deep into the ground which have to be dug out AND tugged on with all my might. This clump in the photo is now GONE!!!!! YEAH!!!!! I had to delete the attachment of the Ivy painting, bummer. But that's okay, I'll post another pic the next time I make some progress on it and delete the weeds pic. Just wanted to show y'all what kind of weeding I've been doing. I worked on it for 4 and a half hours today. It was actually getting chilly out, so it was gooooood weather to work in the yard. If it had been in the 80's or 90's I wouldn't be working on it at all. (the Canadian air-conditioning is wonderful this time of year.)

| Cynthia - I'm impressed with your efforts! The pool will be a big help. I should go to my Dad's condo pool once in a while. Charski - wishing you a better July than June! June wasn't very good for me either as far as exercise. Barb - Wow barb 4.5 hours of weeding! I'll bet you used up enough calories to eat anything you wanted. The weather has turned brutal again (thank the Lord for central air). The high yesterday was 92 with heat index near 100. I just couldn't bring myself to walk in that heat. I finally got the ambition to go out at 7:30 p.m. for a quick 1.8 mile walk but it was still almost 90 degrees. I need to start going out in the mornings but it's already 73 degrees at 6:00 a.m.

| Rob, my sympathies on the weather. Hopefully you will eventually receive this cooler, less humid air mass down there in the "baking south" , although it may mean you have to endure some storms. I suppose in retrospect, the cold spring we had this year lead to this cooler summer, of which I am sooooooooooo grateful. We've had a lot of rain this year so far, but also somewhat below average temps.

| Thanks Barb, I sure would like some of your cooler air. High today is expected to be 94. The best day in the 10 day forecast is 85 this coming friday. But I did manage to get out at 7:15 this morning and got in an hour and 16 minutes walking. Wasn't uncomfortable just a little sticky. By 9:00 the temp had already reached 80. ouch. can you say cold salads for dinner for a while.

| Hey taters... The camping trip was nice, although our *brand new* tent's rain fly leaked, and BF got rained on in the middle of the night. Went swimming in the lake, but otherwise, just vegged out, ate (LC of course!) and played frisbee. First day back on daylight...ugghh. Did not get up for the gym Rob, hope your weather gets more tolerable. Perhaps you should issue a directive to the weather powers-that-be Barb...you and my best friend...having to clear that stuff off your property. Yikes! She's been working on hers, on and off, for months. Char, Nice to see ya again! Cynthia, way to go! Well, I guess I should do something productive *sigh*, since I am at work. Later, taters!

| Barb, I gave up long ago on the time posted! Wow, that is a lot of green in your pic! I live a desert area &we dont have a lot of that dark green around, just lighter green, like sage..... I got in the pool again after work, did some laps, tho I guess ya can't really work up a sweat in the pool! no time for weights today, as dd has gs meeting in a few minutes (it is 5:30 here). Hey Char, great job on the ellipticals! I think exercise on your day off burns 2x as many calories! rob, Happy birthday! |

| Great work everyone! I'm busier than usual at work, booked solid each day, since I'm trying to leave each Monday and Friday un-scheduled to see how many mini-vacations I can take this summer. ... LOL! so far not many. ) But I have been finding time to get in my mini-sessions between cases. Today I got in about 7 of them. They are starting to get a LITTLE easier, so I'm thinking of increasing my reps. Who'd of thunk THAT? Barb, your picture of your Virginia/Illinois creeper reminds me of cat's paw. It's a lower growing herb, out of which one can make (and I have made) bitters. (Learned that from Euel Gibbons.

| Thanks for the "welcome back" Taters, I have missed you all AND the witty repartee contained herein! Another 24 minutes on the elliptical today. Gotta love it. Wow, Barb and Rob, your weather reports make me awfully glad I live here at the coast - I may kvetch about the fog/high overcast but at least I can live with the high 60's/low 70's we usually get this time of year! And high humidity for US is when it's over 70%. Tara, ain't it a b*tch when you're actually expected to DO something at work?! LOL!! Cynthia, man I wish I had a pool. I love to swim. Joined the gym nearby last year (some may remember) specifically to SWIM, then turned out the days/times I could go they were having a water aerobics class - not my idea of SWIMMING as I like to do laps. Oh well. Maggie, wow, thinking of increasing reps??? Girl don't become a FRIED TATER now! Char

| Maggie, I'm pretty sure this isn't cat's paw..........it doesn't smell like anything. I don't think I've ever seen any of it around here. Is its Spanish name Una de Gato? In herbal circles, it's a WONDERFUL immune system booster.

| haven't been here for awhile. still doing my Curves 3x week. was going to go to the water aerobics this morning, but TOM is being nasty - and last time I went I was so sleepy right after (for several hours) that work was nearly impossible. so, looked at the schedule again, and they have it T-Th evenings too. So, going to hit that one instead. If I'm sleepy after, then I'll just go to sleep already sleepy today, bad night.

| Tara - Okay I told mother nature the weather changes I wanted. Oh boy snow! Good luck getting to the gym. Barb - I had to change my time zone to pacific time to get it to display my time correctly. I hope they stop leaving you hanging on that segment. Cynthia - Thanks! Good going on the pool! Maggie - 7 sets is very good! Charski - I envy your weather sooo much. It's 84 here already at 11:00 a.m. Good on the ellip. Mary Kay - Sounds like a good plan. I didn't get out as early today as yesterday but I was at the lake by 8:45 and did a very brisk 4 miles in an hour and 2 minutes. But I have already logged in 25.25 miels so far for July. my new eating schedule is working out well so far. I'm having my largest meal of the day at 3:30 to 4:00 after having just a large salad for lunch. Then about 8:30 I choose either a snack or a lunch size meal. I already went from 5 pounds over signature weight (thanks to July 4) to one pound under as of this morning. But I never count anything until it's official weigh-in day.

| Well, I did it. On my day off, no less. Dragged myself out to the gym at 6am. Figured it can be sorta a test drive. I really feel no more tired than usual, so what the heck. Let's make this a habit. Tomorrow I may not make it due to checking out a part time job (a couple really). I have gotten myself into a big financial hole 4 wks before I'm supposed to go on vacation, and I'm a hurtin' pup. To the point that I'm going to Labor Ready (their motto: work today, paid today) at 5am tomorrow to see what I can do on my days off. Also going to try to squeeze in a part time shift at another ambulance service, one I said I'd 'never' work for (they do mostly non emergency transports, VA contract trips and such...we call them the 'bottom feeders' in my line of work) But hey, it's the same as what I get paid at my full time job, plus I can squeeze 16hrs into one shift there. Ahh, such is life. After I get out of this hole I have created, I will definitely have to re-evaluate my priorities, financially. Any work at home ideas, anyone? (Sorry for the whining rant) Edited to add: Oh bless, bless, BLESS my best friend She has insisted upon giving me back my vacation deposit, with no time limit to pay it back. Ahh, a little breathing room.
