In a hurry so I'll issue a hearty well done to all!

Left my walk until it was too hot and humid but I couldn't face another mall walk. So i did 4 miles at Tanglewood but it had rained (poured) the day before and everything was mud. had to change my socks and clean my sneakers when i finished. The good news is sometime tomorrow night a cool front is expected to hit us for 3 days. So temp in low 80's but much lower humidity. Thank YOU!~

Well, Char, I'm not going to have time to shop for a hula hoop until the weekend, so I too must wait to join this challenge. LOL!

Barb, I'll be watching to see when they have it up on the site, then I'm going to have to watch it at work. I tried opening one of her previous stories and I kept getting a message that CBS streaming video doesn't work with Netscape 6 - which I don't even have on my machine. I got the same message whether using Safari or Mozilla. I have the otherwise inferior Explorer on my work computer, so I'll have to see it there.

Rob, I hope the humidity leaves you and that your climate becomes friendlier. Yeesh!

As for me, I did only 3 mini-sessions today, but that's better 'n ......

I'll try to do better tomorrow.

did Curves this morning, 1 hr. water aerobics this evening - and first meeting of the new 6-week curves challenge. Feeling pretty good about the activity these days - mostly cause I have added something new. and I enjoy the water aerobics.

They do have the new twisty machine at our curves now, and moved the machines around some - so things are 'changed up' a little too.

I got off work late but chanted to myself all the way home, "You WILL get on the elliptical, you WILL get on the elliptical!" and it worked - I got on the elliptical!!

I only stayed put for 15 minutes today but dang, it felt good to have NOT talked myself OUT of using it at least!!

Hmmm, maybe I gotta hit Tarjzay for a hula hoop.....

75 reps ab crunch @ 20 lbs
75 reps butterfly @ 20 lbs
60 leg presses @ 50 lbs
50 "toe presses" @ 50 lbs

Maggie - You'll do better today!!

Mary Kay - You're really doing well!! I envy your varietyu.

Charski - You talked yourself into sticking to plan. excellent!

Cynthia - YAay! You done good!

Tara - Yes you CAN do it! Midnight - 6:00 a.m.? hmmmm. If you don't, we'll certainly understand.

Barb - You had a good excuse for skipping entirely, so 2 out of 3 aint bad!
I'm gonan start checking for that video feed.

Got myself off to the lake at 8:45 this morning and did 4 miles in 61:30. so very close to 4 mph. Had my blood pressure and pulse rate taken monday at the Best Health facility in the Mall (part of Wake Forrest hospital). My blood pressure could stand some improvement but it's below the level where they recommend medication (not a whole lot). But my resting pulse rate is only 45. This is a distinct improvement over the 61 reading 3 months ago. And for as long as I can remember it has never been below 50. But what is too low? I mean 0 is real low too but I know that wouldn't be good.

Rob, and I did! Seven mini-sessions today. Really needed them, too. They helped me retain my humanity between a number of unproductive (for reasons unrelated to me) conferences.

I'm in complete envy of your resting heart rate! Even when I'm in well into a phase of daily exertion, I still have a resting heart rate of something like a bird.

Tara, you are going to be the Couch Fauxtato Iron Maiden for July if you keep up this schedule of work (which I consider to be among the most important professions) & extra activity! I know how a shift can deplete you. May the spirits (if there are any) shine on you for all you do!

Well...I did it. But I wasn't happy about it. (Not a 5:55am -- but I am now!) My schedule got all switched up because one medic ended up in the hospital with sun poisoning (uhhh...you'd think a paramedic would know better? ) and her shifts needed to be covered. So I'm working 22hrs today...till 8am tomorrow. Then back in at 4pm-midnight. Then back to my regular 8a-8p Friday.

Which is actually good news. I don't have to get up ungodly early to do the gym tomorrow! yay!

Maggie... I'm $$$ hungry, what can I say
Rob... I am also in envy of that resting heart rate. You are doing your heart such a favor with your daily walks. The blood pressure reading was probably due to 'white-coat syndrome'...One random reading doesn't mean much.
Barb... I'm gonna check for your news piece on the website when I'm done here. Can't wait to see it!
Mk... Looks like you're really in a groove with the Curves and water aerobics. It's easier to stick to something you enjoy, for sure.
Char... Way to go! on the ellip... I can't do that thing without my walkman and some loud, angry music haha
Cynthia... You did your workout AND your water! Cause for celebration, I say!

Drats, still no news piece on the website yet. There's a new one posted, but it's not mine. (something about nude pics of some official)

Wasn't able to swim today, just not enough hours in my day today. lol! I did wash my truck, and washed ds's suv while I was out there. I am counting that as my "activity" for today.
It was absolutely impossibe for me to leave my office to run to the rr, so I did not get in as much water. I did drink at least 60-70 oz, so better n nuttin.

dh has a buddy coming to spend a few days, so we will prob hit the beach on Friday, yay! Love the beach! *note, MUST REMEMBER SUNBLOCK THIS TIME!!!!* I usually spend quite a bit of time in the water and it is great fun that I think is pretty good exercise as well.
We usually rent body boards when we get there, it is sooo fun. I think my older kids get embarrassed a little, but they would never say so. I must present quite a sight, 37 years young, 180 pounds, I wear a t-shirt over my swim suit, long wet hair hanging to my waist, and yelling "WHOOOOOO -HOOOOOO" at the top of my lungs, riding a wave in on a body board. (btw, Rob- the body-board is MUCH easier to get onto than my pool raft!!!) dd, in her youth can easily outlast me, but I keep it up til my body is shaking in exhaustion and I am panting with the effort to breathe, also prolly amusing to the beach elite! Then I have to flop on the beach chair to rest up for the ride home! I can't wait! *sigh*

Tara, total bummer about the hours! eww, but $ is nice, I take it!
Barb, I keep checking for your story, I have the site bookmarked, I am so excited! I am really looking forward to seeing it.
Maggie, any luck with that centerpiece? *grin*
Char, great work! Do ya have yur hoola-hoop yet??
