No work on the centerpiece yet, Cynthia. It's just sitting there looking like a mistake. LOL!

Did 5 mini-sessions so far and, since I might plant myself before the boob tube at some point, I expect I'll get in a couple more.

We'll see.

Maggie - Good Going!! I finlly took 2 10 pound dumbells and put them by where I sit to watch tv. I whacked the cat on the head with a dumbell on the first set and she keeps looking at me with this hateful expression.

Tara - You have mty vote for Iron Woman. Hope you are taking extra vitamins.

Barb - I checked the cbs site today and they do seem to take their time putting up stories.

Cynthia - Body boarding sounds like a ball. I used to body surf when I was a kid and I loved it.

Was feeling cruddy all day and was not going to walk. But I really want to get out and do some walking every day so I went to the lake at 7:00 and walked 2.5 miles. Did 5 sets of dumbbell exercises but need to do more variation. Must get a book.

Hi Taters, I wuzgunna get on here and hang my head that I didn't get on the elliptical today, when I remembered I actually DID do a number of sets of isometrics, starting this morning in the bathroom (LOL!) and continuing during the day at work whenever I thought of it - "bun crunches" and abs and upper arms. So I guess I can be proud of doing SOMETHING and not NOTHING!! I got off work at 4:30 instead of 4 and got home only seconds ahead of DH and was hot, tired, and cranky, so the exercise I got past that point was bending my elbow to bring a tall glass of rum 'n diet lime Coke to my lips!

Rob, as always, you are the BEST cheerleader!

Nothing significant to report today. Worked till 8am, then had to be back at 4pm-midnight. Going back in at 8am tomorrow. I doubt I'll make the 6am gym trip, but ya never know. Anyway, best friend and I are planning on 'playing tennis' after work tomorrow night. It's in quotes because what we do hardly qualifies as playing tennis. But we do run around a lot

This is what happened to my gym trip today...I was cleaning up another one of the dog's "ha! I ate your food!" messes.

from the 5-a-day forum:
Quote:
My German Shepherd (the innocent-looking one in the avatar), opened the fridge AGAIN today. She does this when she's bored. This time, she ate all of my veggie leftover goodies: the swiss-chard-zucchini soup and my zucchini parm. She's lucky she's cute. And I just gave her $100 worth of medicine today.
Funny. One co-worker is doing a half-@ssed lc...another is borrowing my DANDR. One of these people commented on the fat/calorie content of the granola I was eating several months ago. ha.

yesterday - Curves and water aerobics. Yeah, it seems to be a 'habit' now for this - and I do like it. Which is what counts. I just couldn't get into walking - never have been able to.
So, found something I can handle, and it's so much more than I was doing last year.

Meanwhile, doing okay on the Curves diet plan this week, and also hitting the 5 a day challenge. hopefully will see this all relate to the scale next week, but mostly feeling pretty good.

Charski - Ya Done Good!! Diet Lime coke? Is that really a soda? Sounds good.

Tara - I laughed when I thought of a fridge opening dog. Sophie would gladly trade her walks for that ability. I have a cat who turns on the blender at 3:00 a.m., does that count as a "pet trick from Hell"?

Mary Kay - You're doing it! You've become an active person.

Felt much better today and the weather was absolutely perfect when I went for my walk. 72 degrees and sunny, low humidity. I even opened windows for the first time since early May. I walked 4 miles at tanglewood.

Rob...you look like a guy who wants another dog C'mon, isn't she cute? I'll ship her UPS! The cat/blender thing would scare the *&@# outta me, especially at 3am! Yes, Diet Coke w/Lime is goooooooood!

Looks like everyone is doing great, what with the mini-sessions and isometrics, and Curves, and h2o aerobics, and body boarding (can't wait to get to the beach and use my boogie board, Cynthia!)

Nothin' but work for me today. I was all stoked to play 'pseudo-tennis' with my best friend after work. I got stuck on late calls and we had to call it off. Grr.

I will have to get to the gym tomorrow morning. So much to do, so little time. Work picnic tomorrow at 1...at the park down the street from my house...which has no rest rooms. So I guess I should clean my house just in case of emergency potty runs?

Later, taters!

The beach was nice. We went to Corona del Mar, instead of Newport at dd's request. Corona is more of a younger crowd since it has no shops, no restaurants, just one little snack bar, one rest room, and one choice for equipment rentals (the snack bar, lol). Since the waves aren't as good as at Newport, we opted not to rent the boards this time, but just played in the water. dd and her friend walked the "curve" to the water cave to look for shells, but dh has issues w/ his knee, so I stayed and baked on the beach with him, tho I kept thinking " that is a long walk, on the sand, I could be burning some serious calories right now!!" I did talk him into waking on the sidewalk portion of the jetty, so I got some walking in. I set a personal record by not getting sunburned, this has never happened to me, ever! I burn no matter how much sunblock I wear, I couldn't believe it! yay!
My calves feel nice and tight after bouncing on them for 2 hours in the water, but not actually sore. I may have a chance to go again nest week, when a relative from Texas will be visiting with her teen-age kids. I think I will insist on Newport tho, I really missed the boards, lol.
Yup, Love the Diet Coke with Lime!!

Tara - One dog is enough when it's Sophie.

Cynthia - Sounds like you got more activity in than you think.

From my journal:

Am house/dog/car sitting again, just for yesterday and today. I had to pick up the dog (Sebastian) at the vet yesterday because he had just been neutered. Poor thing was so depressed, he looked like he had just lost his 2 best friends. LOL
But that means I have to leave sophie home and go back and forth several times a day between the 2 houses (5 miles apart). This also means I probably won't get in much of a walk, if any at all. I may try for a half dozen laps around the quarter mile track nearby.

Well that lasted about a day. I finally went and got sophie and brought her back to the house sitting job. She was pretty gentle with sebastian once he bared his neck and she saw how swollen he was down there. But so far today I've walked each dog 3 times. Just got back from a one miel walk with sophie. If you add in my trip to Walmart and the 3 trips around the grocery section looking for marinated artichoke hearts, I probably did over 3 miles today. But if i can get in a fast steady walk at the track I'll go for it.

Yesterday, for various reasons, I blew it. Today, I had to put in an 8 hr stint at the office, so I just set a timer to make myself stop and do something every couple of hours. Nothing that involves my neck, though. I woke up with a painful stiff neck on the right side. ... which nicely balances the residual pain I've had in the left side for nearly a year now from a slipped disk. This aging business is only better than the alternative. LOL!

OK, to clear up any confusion - the Coke of which I speak is actually "Diet Lime Coke" and comes in the can that way! It's very very good stuff. In a PINCH, I'd have diet Coke with a nice lime wedge, but hey, this is way easier, and all us 'Taters know how important EASY is, right?!

Cynthia, good for you for not getting burned! And no I haven't even LOOKED for a hula hoop yet.

Barb, is that thing on the web YET?! I've been waiting for you to announce your newly-acquired FAME!

Rob, ah poor Sebastian, he's lucky to have you and your girl to cheer him up!

Tara, sounds like it's time for a lock on the fridge! Man that would plum pi$$ me off if my dog ate MY leftovers! LOL!

Maggie, sorry your neck is giving you such fits. OW!!

Mary Kay, sounds like you have a new REALLY GOOD habit going on there....

OK, now for activity, well, hmmmm, walked a bit with DH yesterday after we ate lunch downtown, and did some isometrics.

Today, back and forth to the laundry room, then hauled my four alloy wheels, one at a time, out of the garage, out of each box, wiped them down well, and photographed to put them on eBay tomorrow; then boxed each one back up and hauled one at a time back to the garage! And that's as good as it gets for today!!

Have a good weekend everyone...I think we're all doing really well!!

I completely BLEW the entire weekend, beginning on friday night. We went out with DH's partner to a town fest and saw Night Ranger (Sister Christian) (my eardrums'll never be the same) I ate an Italian sausage sans bun and some litely breaded mozzarella sticks and a half ear of corn. The corn tasted like field corn, so it wasn't even worth it. I brought a diet RC with me. Then we went back to partner's house and went to a neighbor's party. I had some diet cokes with Southern Comfort. Man, that stuff hits ya FAST!!! We ended up partying until 5AM. We stayed overnight at partner's house. Went home around 11 am. Went back to bed then went to in-laws on Sat. aft. for a combined b-day party for MIL, FIL and brother-in-law. I had a chicken leg, half a burger, some fruit salad, veggies and dip, diet coke. I had a small piece of the dessert. (NOT LC) We watched the tape of me on TV. I did nothing in the way of exercise. I was going to go to Curves Sat. morning, but the partying changed those plans. Today, I will be getting my house ready for Bunco on tuesday. (Gotta get the puter off the dining room table)

So, we had fun this weekend, but I was a TOTAL TATER. Ah, well, sometimes you just have to cut loose and party, ya know?

Maggie, I hope your neck feels better soon!!!!!

I'm so glad my dog had never figured out how to open the frig!!!!! What a nightmare.

I keep checking the CBS website too, so far............NUTHIN!!!

MK, you are doing FANTASTIC!!!!

Cyn, sound like a good time was had by all.

Poor Sebastian (love the name, reminds me of Neverending Story)

Char, you're WAY ahead of me this weekend!!!!

hi. just checking in. Doing okay this week. Did curves yesterday.
We went and saw a movie - I-Robot - one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. Love Will Smith - and this was a cool concept and visual movie.
Then we went and walked the mall. Found a really cool new store. Hope it is there when I reach my goal. Can't remember the exact name, but it was 'SHE wear'. Lots and lots of absolutely beautiful chiffon dresses. Old fashioned, almost etherial types of dresses - light, chiffon, pastels. Never seen anything like it. Ruffles , rennaissance styles. Hubby was with me, and I decided I get one when I reach goal.
I may not have anyplace to wear it, but just being able to and having one - we'll find someplace!!! So very, very feminine!

Hey taters

Softball game to go to in about an hour. Ran around playing a violent game of badminton yesterday at work picnic (in the garage, because it rained steadily all day). That's about it for activity...I've been quite the tater. Ate some blueberry pie BF made last night, one slice. So, not only was I a tater, but a BAD tater, at that. Oh well, we worked it off almost getting busted by his 14 y/o in the process
Off to more mundane activities. Later, taters.

Unhappy Re: Couch Fauxtato JULY Activity Forum

Hello tater-buddies,
Kinda made some dumb choices last night at a bbq. There was supposed to be some lc stuff,as my friend knows about my woe. Unfortunately, her dh didn't read the directions and burned it. I did get one jalepeno stuffed with crm cheese and wrapped in bacon (yummy), but 5 extra ppl showed up unexpectedly, so not enough of those to get even a second one. I gave in and had macaroni salad, and then ate a bbq peach. It prolly wouldn't have been too bad, without the honey-cinnamon-vanilla sauce and the vanilla ice-cream. *dusting self off*
Oh well, at the rate I have been losing............., wait, I haven't been losing!!!, so hopefully won't cause a gain.
I am back at 180, and have been here for at least 4 months. I am getting really tired of this weight guys. I am drinking the stupid 90+ oz of water everyday, usually about 120oz, and have not noticed a difference, except the obvious more trips to the rr. Dh is beginning to make a few comments, like, "How long has it been since you lost any weight?" "Is is doing any good to stay on Atkins when it isn't working?" It is starting to get to me a little. I lost at first, what happened???
Anybody got any good stall breaker tips?? Sigh, sorry for that. Guess I needed a good rant.
Later taters
