I think my legs are recovered enough to do another mile on the program tonight--Was sore Wednesday but Yesterday I could barely walk--It is a good pain though--I did walk and stretch yesterday and then sat in the car and drove 5 hours back form Washington DC. Drove up Wednesday--which I think is why I was so sore yesterday--Will go back to the program tonight--1 minute at 4 mph, 2 at 5.5 on a 12 minute mile pace--actually I slowed teh walk down a bit about the 7th minute so it took over 12 but not very much then walked it out and I will do it again! I will also swim a half an hour after I lift weights--i may be in for a sore type weekend again--but it feels sooooo good to be able to run again--I just can't believe it! I used to love to run--I could also run 8-10 miles at a 8-9 mile pace without getting winded--I ran the mile and 2 mile in track and seldom finished in more than 14 minutes in the 2 and could run the mile shortly after with no trouble--but again my pace was right at a 7 minute mile. Slow it down and I could run for ever and I used to--BAsketball nearly killed me though--had to sprint! hehehe!! OH well--maybe again someday soon I will be back to really running long distance--maybe my goal should be to participate in a triathlon when I get to goal--I have a bike and I love to swim--would have to increase distance a bit but I think I could do it!

Due to a shock and a visit from family--DH's cousin from Charlotte showed up unexpectedly--last night's workout will take place in about 10 minutes! Wish me luck!

Light today--needed to take a day, but I needed to work the soreness out too--used handweights to work the arms while I did 30 minutes on the treadmill in intervals walking between 2.5 and 3.5 miles an hour. My arms and shoulders are more sore tonight than they were last night, still no knee issues, bought new running shoes and they are NOT going to work--my heels slide out--will keep them and work in them and find another pair for running--going to have to go to more of a cross trainer with good arch support and cushioning though--and they are hard to find in that combination.

I am in for a heck of a workout tonight--call it body torture! I am running 15 mintues tonight after a light evening alst night i will kick it up a notch and try for 15 minutes--want to make a mile and a half tonight with cooldown. Then I will lift weights both legs and arms--didn't last night--only light toning exercises with 4lb hand weights. Will cool down in the pool with a swim--about 30 minutes planned of just leisure swimming!

Hi work out fanatics,

I've been having computer problems and have been off line for a few days. All workouts are on track. Abs, tennis weights, and walking. I may have to back off on the weights a little as my tennis elbow has flared up a little. here are only a couple of months of summer left. I'll have all winter to do weights. Feeling good and easting good.
Carrie have fun up North! Sounds like fun Take some digital pics!

No swimming today--raining again. . .but I ran a mile in 12 minutes (first time) and walked out another half mile for a total of 20 minutes I also warmed up with a 10 minute roling hills program that isn't too bad. I also lifted tonight. I am beginning to be able to tell that my arms are toning down--my sleeves fit better on my dress shirts! They don't look quite so odd attached to my tiny forearms either--at least not ot me!

Literally drug myself out of the house tonight to go to the gym--did the hill program on the treadmill tonight for a total of 45 minutes with cooldown. the program is a rolling hill set up wehre you vary between level 1 hills and level 4 hills and speeds between 2.5mph and 3.5 mph. I was sweaty and tired by the end and felt like I had gotten a good leg workout!

I just realized that another month has come and gone. I am pleased to say that my work outs have been on track. Yesterday was the first weight workout that I skipped since January. Although I do have elbow issues, I still feel a little guilty. On the good side, I have been playing a lot of tennis and have gone farther into the season this year than in any of the last 4. (crossing fingers)

Great job everybody with the workouts!! Let's keep it going!
