Tina, I was trying to figure out how many days we had so I could calculate a loss goal. I looked at 2 calendars to be sure! Whew! I'm GLAD it's 9 weeks....I'll NEED the extra week to make my goal, I'm sure! LOL! My weight has been fluctuating wildly the past week. I was on TOM and lost 3 pounds, then gained them back this weekend...and I thought I was being good. Oh, well....onward I go, but not upward, hopefully! I'll check in later in the week.

Count me in!

Since I am now a card carrying member of the glacier club this will be tough but my goal is set at a pound a week. So 9 pounds by Labor Day. Current stats are 204/204/195.

Ok, I'm going to try once again to join and be a part of a challenge. Up 6 lbs to 176 and fighting with my hormones...so I'm going to try for 10 lbs. by Labor Day. Now that things are hitting more of a stride here at the new job I'll have time to actually report. First things first though....I MUST buy myself a scale this weekend. It amazes me how easily I fall off the wagon when I don't have direct evidence of me losing. A bite here, a snack there...it adds up...quickly.

count me in (if its not too late!)... my stats are 238/220/209... kind of a lofty goal, but the '220' stat is from my weigh in at Curves last month (I am planning to weigh in for July this Sat. morning), so hopefully I am under 220... I plan to reach my 11 lb. loss by Labor Day by continuing my Curves workouts at least 3x/week, drinking lots and lots and lots of water, walking as much as possible, and avoiding lc treats/off plan foods... I wish you all the best!!!

Welcome: Amy G, sneezles, sswlaw

As in the past, I?ll only post the entire list twice a week ? so my posts don?t get out of control.

Maxibee: Not just you ? I had to check the calendar several times before I could confirm the nine weeks.

Amy G: Welcome to the glacier club ? but unlike me, you?re probably there without bouts of high carb cheating :great:

Brandy: Hey! Good to hear from you. Glad you?re settling in at the new job?

sswlaw: 11 pounds doesn?t sound like too much ? most of us are doing 10 lbs for 9 weeks, so 11 is definitely doable!

Number of Challengers = 14
Days to Go = 60

Hello to everyone joining this challenge! If you read one of my posts and I'm whining, just ignore it and move on!
Since Amy G and I are members of the Exclusive Glacier Club, maybe we will just whine to each other, huh? Believe me, no one would want to join this club deliberately. That's why I tell everyone I meet that if you start lowcarbing, STICK with it the first time....each time you start over, it becomes less effective. I'm convinced that numerous false starts and age have slowed down my losing considerably.

I REALLY want to meet this challenge goal! My best wishes to this whole group. It would be fabulous if we ALL made our goals in this challenge.

Been off path for a while and I feel terrible, physically more than anything. I hope to lose 15 lbs by Labor Day. Been doing Atkins for over 2 years with great success in pounds, but mostly in how I feel. Want to feel well again.

louieb : oh I know how you feel! I didn't realize how much worse I felt when I was eating refined flour and sugar until I fell off the atkins wagon. My dh and I are both feeling the difference in our energy level and with me, in how my joints ache when I'm not lowcarbing.

Maxi you're very right. I lost 40 pounds in no time my first time low carbing...then like an idiot once I hit my goal weight I went buck wild and didn't really notice that I was gaining it all back until it was too late! DERN! I ended up gaining 45 back! :crying: Now I'm back down 17 but wow is it taking a heck of a lot longer this time around. At least now I know this is a way of life instead of a quick fix. I guess now I can really appreciate it through experiencing first hand how it has to be a lifestyle change.

Well, I'm not quite sure how this happened, but I weighed last night at 165. 2 weeks ago I was at 176.5. I think I'll wait until I get MY scale this weekend to get a good weight. I've started taking the Atkins accel caplets, and am surprised they don't make me jittery. Between those and having TOM 3 times in 6 weeks...I know I'm down some...just didn't think it'd be 11 lbs. I'll report monday with a weight and see if maybe the scale last night was just not calibrated right.

I'm going to go ahead and claim my 3 lb. weight loss for this week! I wanted to make sure it was true and the scale said the same thing for 2 days so I'm claiming it!

Welcome: celest24209

Brandy: gotta love that crazy scale! I have two at home, one digital, and one ?regular?. Neither one is showing me a number that I like right now.

Rhonda: Way to go with a 3 lb loss! It?s the first for the group! :jump:

I'm glad I'm not the only one to have the "gotta see it for 2 days to claim it" rule. I have had so many disappointments by claiming a new low, only to have that one pound show back up the next day.
For example, my weight this week was:Sunday 232, Monday 233 (AAACK!!), Tuesday 232, Wednesday 231, Thursday 231, this morning 230. I would be happy to see that "0" again in the morning. I would be thrilled if it was 229! But, I haven't been able to break into the 220's in at least 4 years.
I stayed on plan today. I had a grilled steak, salad w/bacon ranch, and some cream- cheese-lemonjuice-Splenda-sorta-cheesecake-filling stuff tonight, but it was early. We had plates (and spoons!) in the dishwasher by 7:00. So, I hope the 230 sticks, I pray for a 229, and I dread a 231. But, I never know!
I do know this: if I'm going to make my Labor Day Challenge goal, I'd better get my behind in gear!
