Not doing as well as I would like to be. Since my birthday was last tuesday I was given a bottle of single malt scotch as a present last night at my sister's. It's not something I can usually afford. Someone asked to taste it so I gave everyone who wanted some a taste. ended up drinking 4 or 5 ounces myself and gave half the bottle away. So not a good day since the alcohol made me want to put something in my stomach. Which put my calories and carbs too high by far. Oh well if I can stick to my plan for today of not going to the weekly bbq I'll still end up way better off than most weekends.

The whole problem with weekends is there's way too much free time to graze.

I agree with too much free time to graze. I know that feeling! Been there, done that...but this w/e, I decided to be prepared...took two pieces of lc bread with me to the Saturday meeting 'cuz the dh and I don't always go right home after the meeting...but when we stopped by the gas station, I picked up a package of peanuts and split it with the dh...so saved my bread for my hamburger later on the eveing...

Still doing good...today is my rest day so I am not eating as much as I usually do. My appetite has been on the suppressed side today which can only be good. Was thinking about skipping dinner but have decided I'll have an egg and some cheese just to keep my metabolism all revved up or maybe a yogurt or something. Had a late lunch so won't be eating too heavily and still sticking to the rule of nothing to eat after 6.

Is there a lot of carbs in 4 - 5 oz of Scotch? I'm not big on alcohol so wouldn't know...if it's got alcochol in it, it's gotta be sweet for me to drink so I just stay away from the stuff...still have a small bottle of rum sitting in the cabinet. Think it's been there for about 4 or 5 months now...not sure I'll ever touch it...well, you could have had the whole bottle instead of 4 to 5 oz so woudn't that be a good thing that you didn't drink all of it?

So how is everyone else doing so far this weekend, and are you trying to stay on track? i never knew it could be this easy to stay on track!

Scotch like all hard liquor has 0 carbs but it stops ketosis until the alcohol is completely gone.

You're doing well everyone!!

except maybe me. Well no I'm doing way better than usual today. The pint of low carb ice cream only had 20 net carbs. ONLY? But I went to the mountains and spent 3 hours hiking up abnd down various mountain trails. So 400 calories worth of ice cream is nothing compared to the 1147 calories fitday said I used up over my basal metabolic rate. It was just so much cooler feeling up there that I couldn't stop myself. Wish I had stayed longer but was walked out and i would have gotten bored just sitting there.

So much for me trying to stick closer to my workweek eating schedule! I slept late this morning, which means having "brunch" instead of breakfast OR lunch. Then, I got caught up in reading the paper until time for my Dr.Phil WLC meeting at 3:00. I went to the store after the meeting and did not get home until 6:00, so I went about 7 hours without eating.
I drank some iced tea and Fruit2-O in the meantime. I had salmon and a salad for supper when I got home. Then I had a peach....and a CarbSmart fudgecicle. I hope I didn't give my body any "starvation" signals during all those hours I wasn't eating.
Sometimes not eating enough, or at least often enough hurts me more than anything.

That reminds me, I've gotta go get a bottle of water and my supplements.....

All in all, not too bad a weekend. Later!

Looks like everyone tried to stick to plan, though...I did my best...wsa 126 on Friday morning and am the same weight I wsa Saturday - am 124.6 for a loss of 1.6 lbs over the weekend...had I stuck with 2 slices of lc bread instead of 4, I probably could have lost maybe another pound...lesson learned for the following weekend...plus Sunday is a rest day for me so I should really limit what I eat on Sundays...I had a late lunch on Sunday...and 3 hours later, I had dinner...not a good thing...that could have been a cause for no more weight loss, either...I plan on challenging myself next weekend, too...doing the same thing...it's great that I don't have to re-lose 4 lbs this week! Yea!

Well its monday morning, and I can actually say I stayed away from sugar this weekend and ate on plan.
Friday, as I was getting ready to leave work, I walked into the kitchen and there was a bag of oreo's, I almost grabed one, but resisted. Went to dinner on friday night, Mexican - had chicken breast with a chipolte sauce, and salad, no beans, no rice, and only 10 chips with hot sauce(yes I counted them).
Saturday I had eggs with cheese, and sausage for breakfast, went to costco
and passed on the free samples of cheese cake they were giving out(boy was that hard). Bought a roasted chiccken and had that for dinner with a big salad and made a sugar free jello parfit that was wonderful.
Sunday LC pancakes (krusteaze has a mix that is 11 net carbs per 4 4" pancakes) with Sugar free syrup and bacon. Had some Cashew for a snack
and dinner was pork chop, baked with smothered cabbage and broccoli. Desert was anothe of those jello parfits
I got in just about all my water all weekend.
Didn't go to the gym to weight this am (ac went out yesterday and didn't sleep well)
will see how a I did tomorrow when I weight in.
I think I did real good.... Everything I ate fit into my 40-60 carbs / day
and I am hoping to keep going with out eating sugar.
lets keep this weekend challenge going for a while... sure helped me knowing I was working on not eating what i shouldnt/

Sounds like you resisted just like me. It's those dang chocolate covered espresso beans that they have in the quarter machine at the hotel where my church meets...that's what's been getting at me every weekend...but this w/e, I didn't even think about 'em. Took a boiled egg w/ me to eat b4 church. (the dh and I wait until prayer time is done on Sundays before we eat anything...and we have 15 minutes after that to eat something before church starts so I went prepared this time) Think I'll start doing that EVERY Sunday...I'd rather be prepared...and going to start doing that on Saturdayas as well...being prepared seemed to pay off for no weight gain...

Yeah...I'd like to keep this weekend challenge thing going, too...it's fun, and it's a challenge all in one! Plus it really helped me to keep track of what I was eating and to see where I was as far as my calories and carbs were concerned, and it made me realize that I need to be prepared at all times.

So do we start a new thread or do we just keep this one going? What would be better?

we can keep this one going, and just have one place to look for....
I definately want to keep this up, I weighed yesterday and finally am back to sig. weight after vacation, cheating, binging, etc.... I think I still need to be accountable somewhere for my food choices, and want to keep this going.

I agree we can continue in this thread and maybe when it gets really long, we can start a new one. Or we could make it a monthly challenge. The no binge weekend challenge - July 2004. That sort of thing. It's up to the general consensus of it's participants. But we still have 3 more weekends in july to decide. The one advantage to renewing the challenge monthly would be to help keep us from being too complacent.

What about Rob the Moderator starting a new thread every Friday like: No Cheat Weekend July 17/18 -or- something like that. Then, this thread won't get too long and we can entice more people to join in at any time!
I'm in on whatever ya'll decide to do. I didn't lose last weekend, but I didn't GAIN, either!
