| Hi all, I made it through the weekend without any mistakes. Felt good the entire weekend and on track. But no weight loss. I can't figure out why. I ate low carb, no weird foods, maybe I'll see the loss later this week. I got my bike back from the shop so will be able to ride to work and partially back from work this week. Creaky |

| Ok, Ok, My name is Shannon and I have somehow become a weekend binger. I need help! I have been trying to get back into ketosis, and just as soon as my body is about to go into fat burning mode, I mess it up and go high carb weekend. So, I am going to join you on this challenge and maybe I will get those ketostix to change color. Maybe these headaches will go away, too. It's an endless cycle...a headache during the week from dropping my carbs and sugar...then headaches after the weekend from the high carbs and sugar I consumed. I'm with you, Rob. I am often with my family on the weekend, and have become lazy with bringing acceptable foods for myself. I will try to post as much as possible for support, but like I said before with two kids under the age of four, I don't have much time, but to just read all your posts. By the time they go to bed, I end up falling asleep with them...It must be all those hugs. Wish me luck.

| Well, tomorrow is the start of the weekend! And I am looking forward to a weekend full of nothing but lc. I know I'll be able to pull it off this w/e...dh and I are talking about going for a long drive this w/e since the weather will be in the 90's...and that always means eating somewhere as well on the drive...but am planning this ahead of time and am going to stick to my guns of lc, lc, lc...even if it means just a side salad (and I rarely get any salad dressings at restaurants since I don't know with what they're made)...but willpower is in my body right now...will power, will power, will power... Good luck to everyone else on the w/e! And I wish you lots of success! Sheyla |

| I considered bringing my own dressing...however, I do not care too much for warm dressing...blah...sometimes, I'll just ask for oil and vinegar and of course, they bring that on the side so I can control how much goes on my salad... But personally, I don't mind salad without dressing, either. I did it for so long when I was watching my fat intake, I just got use to it. And I still find myself eating salad without dressing every once in awhile...it's almost like I forget there's dressing in the refrigerator... Sheyla |

| DD and I will be meeting my sister for dinner tomorrow. She had a gastric bypass 3 years ago and is very happy to now weigh 45 pounds less than me. Her goal was not to feel better (as she claimed) or to look better, it was to be thinner than me, my Mom, or other sister. She got her wish. I wouldn't trade places with her, though. I'm walking, trying to tone as I lose (gradually). I don't want all that skin. Go from about 400 lbs. to 185 or so in about a year. It's too much too fast and the skin doesn't respond well. (She did precious little exercise.) Sorry for ranting! Anyway, I don't know where we'll go to eat, but I'm be sticking to my plan like glue! We don't discuss weight much....we don't have alot in common in that department. Last time, we went to Denny's, and they had a few lowcarb entrees on the menu. My waitress clued me into some of the substitutions they could make. I "traded" a couple of tomato slices for a (very) small bowl of melon/grapes/berries. DD helped out with the grapes! So, we've learned 3 things here: I'm starting my weekend (5:00 p.m. Friday!) eating out. I'm a little gripy when discussing weight loss with my sister, and Denny's can and will make menu adjustments for us. Thanks for the ear, my friends.

| Maxibee - Whatever you sister's motivation, if she was heavy enough to qualify for the operation, it probably added decades to her life to have it. Meanwhile how much food can she possibly eat at Denny's in the limited amount of time you'll be there. That's the downside to gastric bypass. I hereby vow to do better this weekend than last. I wasn't that bad last weekend but there is lots of room for improvement. Need to replace grazing with exercise. |

| I am doing the no binge weekend too. What a great challenge. The last couple of weeks, I went a little crazy, but have been good this week and want to keep it that way this weekend....

| Good point, Rob. There is much more to the whole bypass surgery story, someday, I'll endulge and tell ya'll about it. But there's GOOD NEWS....the plans changed and I ended up out with the hubster instead. I ate totally on plan except for those marvelous haystack onions that Bennigan's makes. However many carbs were in the (very light) coating can be added to my other 19 carbs I had all the rest of the day. Since we ate by 7:00 p.m., I hope it won't hurt me too much. I'll be back at the grocery store tomorrow and (thanks for reminding me, Rob) the Farmer's Market. I am trying to stay on the 5-a-day challenge, too. I'm going to do my best to stay strictly on plan this whole weekend. Take care everyone.

| So far, so good this weekend for me as well...dh and I were going to go for a drive, but it's sooooo hot outside! So we just went walking around the mall instead for awhile... Had an egg and an ounce of cheese today and a small piece of lc caramel candy...that's been it for today, and it's almost 3:30 here today and am not really all that hungry...having a hamburger and a spinach salad for dinner tonight...did buy some Carb Solutions Ice Cream so will probably have a serving of that with diet pepsi poured over it...a pepsi float! Yummm! And I've alreadyy done 90 minutes of cardio today, too...don't know why, but when I'm working out, it suppresses my appetite majorly. I guess that's a good thing. I once read in a book called 'fit or fat' that if you worked out and it made you have no appetite, then you were considered fit. I guess I must be considered fit! Well, once again, good luck to all! | Well, I broke the barrier and weighed in at 229 this morning. I was wondering if I'd ever break into the 220's again! I hope it sticks! I "celebrated" with a marvelous lowcarb breakfast. We went to IHOP for a late lunch and I had a salad first, so when my food arrived, I ate exactly half of it and brought the rest home for later. (I would imagine DH will finish it off later.) Maybe I'm finally getting that point where I'm satisfied with less. THAT would be nice. How's everyone else doing? Sheyla, that float thing sounds marvelous. I think I'll pick up a pint of l/c ice cream and some Diet A&W Rootbeer and make me one!

| Doing well so far this weekend! Had less than 1600 calories yesterday and net carbs were only 25. I didn't plan it that way it just happened. My carb allowance (CLL) is 35 to 45 so I should have eaten more but i don't think one day of reduced numbers should have any effect on my metabolism. Let's see if I can do as well today. |

| I got really hungry late last night and I have a "no eating after 7 rule", so I decided to break it! The dog, cat, and I had a couple of peices of leftover chicken. The dog got the skin (my vet would slap me!) and the cat and I ate the meat. I guess it didn't hurt me much (I drank like 60 oz. of water and lemonade last night) 'cuz I was down ANOTHER pound this morning. Me, losing on the weekends? Hmmmm, is it because I haven't had a l/c bar or chocolate in days, I've been sticking to plan, I'm trying to get in my 5-a-day veggies, or a combination of all? It was only about 78 degrees this morning, so I got DH to take a walk with me. He's 6'6", so I have to walk fast to keep up. We walked about 45 minutes. (I mean, he strolled and I walked quickly!) It was soooo nice to have a cool day to walk in July in Texas! My walking buddy and I walk on Mondays and Wednesdays and the occasional Friday and it's brutal in the Texas Summer heat! So far today, I had salmon & eggs scrambled and wrapped in a whole wheat l/c tortilla. It is yummy, with or without the tortilla. And iced tea (MY "coffee") and a bottle of H2O on the walk. I think I'm rambling, but I'm kinda high from the loss, the cooler weather, and the walk. I've gotta go get ready to lead the Dr.Phil Weight Loss Challenge meeting at Gold's Gym. More later!

| That is awesome that you've lost over the weekend, Maxibee! Just great! So congragulations! I haven't done as well...I'm up a couple of pounds today but know it will be off by tomorrow morning...it was that dang ice cream...it's the one reason I don't keep ice cream in the house. It's hard for me to control how much I eat. That's why I'd rather go somewhere to get some ice cream. That way, I can get a serving and then I'm done with it...and I don't want to spend any more money, so I don't get anymore. When I use to go to Baskin Robbins, i'd get their no sugar added ice cream, pay for it - and then find a sugar-laden ice cream that looked good and asked for a sample of it..so I got to try something without putting tons and tons of sugar in my body...it always seemed to work, too...also, that ice cream had negative effects on my body. Spent half the night up, feeling sick to my stomach, my stomach swirling and me feeling like I was going to vomit. I just cannot tolerate a lot of suugar alcohol. I can eat 2 pieces of gum a day with no adverse affects but stuff like ice cream and lc bars just literally make me sick...well, that could only be a good thing, though! Makes me stay away from them more! The sugar alcohol is probably the only reason for the weight gain - a bloated stomach plus more than one serving of ice cream equals more than 400 calories. Yikes!!!! Anyway, a slice of fried provolone today and then tonight, a hamburger patty on two slices of lc bread and a spinach salad....and that will be it for the day. I don't know why....but it seems like it takes a lot less to make me full than it use to....that can only be a good thing, too. Hope everyone else is doing well! Sheyla |

| I ate on plan today. I've looked over my food journal a couple of times. I din't get in enough fruits/veggies, but I'm definitely okay on carbs. Why am I paranoid about weighing in the morning? I'm afraid my beautiful 228 will turn into a 229 and I'm not sure why, but I have my suspicions......I got a pint of Keto Vanilla Moon ice cream at the store, and a bottle of Diet A&W Rootbeer. After ribs and salad for dinner, I made each of us a Rootbeer float. It was beyond marvelous. I think he got more of the pint than I did, and that's fine, so I got maybe 4 carbs in my float. But just the sheer yuminess is well, paranoia inducing. LOL! If I'm up a pound in the morning, it won't be from that, but probably from too much salt at dinner and/or not enough water intake for the day! But, DH took that walk this morning, so maybe I will be okay! Great weekend! It isn't often that I actually lose weight on the weekend! Take care, everyone, and I'll see you all here next weekend.
