It has been such a long, hard road. I've been hanging around this site for over year, while waiting for a doctor to agree with a LC regimen for me. I'm 33, and have had type 2 for four years. My last HgA1C was slightly elevated at 8.9. And my kidneys have started spilling some protein. I went to an endocrinologist-she is wonderful!! I was on the wrong kind of meds, etc... Anyway, she asked ME what I thought about LC!! So... finally, I start my LC Journey!

Thanks to all of you. I have learned so much by reading the posts and articles on this site. I love it here!! I guess I will be a permanent fixture around here now!

Very cool, Jeanny!

Having a doctor in your corner is SO important when adopting this way of eating. You'll need to recalibrate your medicines and dosages as you progress, so it's great that you'll have a health care professional who KNOWS what this business is all about!

Not having the support of my doctor was literally killing me. I really wanted to go ahead and make a change for a more healthy woe, but... because of meds I had to do bascially what the doc prescribed.

I feel better already even though it's only day 2. I do have a headache-but I welcome it, knowing it is a symptom of detox!

my doc gave me a recipe for a yummy veggie-soup! it's delicious! I'm going to check the carb count/GI and post it for everyone!
