Default Mediterranean Diet in the news...

The Mediterranean Diet in the news. It looks like a low carb diet to me but the media does not report it as one. I noticed that there is no refined carbs or sugars in that diet, just like other low carb diets.

It's not really a low carb diet, Ed.

While there is a similar emphasis on vegetables, that's about it. Grains, although whole ones are recommended, are a large component of the diet. It's also a low fat diet and protein is limited.

I agree with you Maggie, it's not a low carb diet. Thanks for the info on that Sharron. But what they do have in common is that there is almost no processed foods and sugars. So it gets you thinking is it the low carb or the lack of processed foods that makes you loose weight.
