Last year, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry formed a "collaborative research and education partnership" with the Coca-Cola Foundation to provide programs that promote good dental habits for kids.

There's a plan for good dental health. Ya know, ya just can't make this s*** up!

It is no worse than pop machines and snack machines in lunch rooms--you know what the kids eat--right? Gives Frito Lay, Coke, Pepsi, and the like direct access to kids for marketing.

This is not going to impact our children directly from the "teachers" union! I am a member-and it may help me in locating health information for use in my classroom, but even if the advertising is all over the website, what the kids see will not be this website at all. I would like to see them directly funding research that would further my field---physical education and health--by doing things like increasing PE and health classes and activities for all students and promoting healthier choices in the lunch lines. Those would be directly impacting our students and decreasing the childhood obesity epidemic. My class two times a week is, for many of the students I serve, the only activity they get all week.

Personally, I think it is a start toward something good.
