| Celiac disease, also known as gluten intolerance, is a condition where consumption of gluten (a component of wheat) prevents absorption of vital nutrients, including Vitamin D and Calcium. Insufficent calcium and Vitamin D may lead to osteoporsis, a condition where the bones become weaker and more brittle. In such cases, the osteoporsis may be reversible when the celiac disease is reversed. Quote:
