CNN cracks me up.

I dont know if their "mob mentality" is worse than their tendency to "jump on the bandwagon."

Did you see today's CNN article on cell phones where they ignore the article you posted above? http://www.cnn.com/TECH/. Mind you, they choose not to present the opposing research but choose instead to quote sound bites from the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

IMNSHO, CNN is a part of the problem. CNN *loves* to claim unrefuted research as undeniable fact. JAMA itself is riddled with politics and there are lots of valid studies that never make it into JAMA (apparently the world isnt ready to have its belief system shattered).

CNN often sparks *controversy* by mocking any research that contradicts the "undeniable fact" when the "undeniable fact" is simply unrefuted research.

In short, what any of us know and call fact is just a belief that is limited by time, technology, publication, and . . .funding.

I wonder if CNN is hiring. Maybe I can make changes from the inside.

Now we will have to research the research. With all the lobbyists and research funding by big corporations who knows what studies are legit and what studies are being funded by "the man". I guess the next time I look at a study I should pay more attention.

Hmm a study to ascertain the validity of studies? Something like the Ad Hoc committee to eliminate ad hoc committees I once heard about. I always take study results with a large grain of salt. Yes, critical thinking is a must have skill. Unfortunately too many people don't possess or don't exercise this skill. I never needed a study to tell me cell phone usage diminishes your attention to the road. I just observed the terrible driving of many people with a phone in their ear.
