The article discusses shifting medical focus from weight loss to health promotion. As it points out, doctors keep "prescribing" the same things for weight loss, despite knowing they seldom work and often create greater health problems for people (weight cycling and so forth). The author suggests that doctors need to focus on health promotion: "health at every size." The approach emphasizes self-acceptance, physical activity, and "normalized eating...attaining a more peaceful relationship with food..."
