| An intersting Article in Science News Online Don't Give up Protein "The encouraging news, he says, is that the short-term advantages seen in the high-protein part of this trial can be maintained. Some of the women were recruited to stay on their regimens for another year, he notes, "and we find that basically the same results continued" for each group." Encouraging Indeed! |

| I agree Rob. I ensure that I have an adequate amount of protein each day, although it has been lower in fat for a long time due to me being at or close to goal. Thanks for sharing the article... |

| Rob - that's an excellent article. I can identify with the exercise regime also and I'm sure that those combinations are what has dropped the last lot of weight for me. I also agree with Texanflow'r - I ensure protein at every meal and also lower fat protein is used predominantly in my WOE. |

| This is a great article. It definitely falls on the exercise side of the exercise vs. haircut weightloss debate. (But I notice they didn't have any haircut controls...

| Makes me wonder when the weight of the evidence will finally make so called diet experts take heed. I use protein calculators the same way Brenda. Can't wait for the Taubes book. He sure took his time writing it. But I read that he is being so careful to check and recheck every fact, every reference, because he knows if the low fat camp finds a single error they will harp on it and condemn the whole book. | Carbwire has an interesting interview with Dr. Donald Layman about the importance of protein in the diet, particularly for losing weight and retaining muscle mass. http://livinlavidalocarb.blogspot.co...otein-for.html I check Carbwire every day for any new information. The blogger is Jimmy Moore. Some of his stuff is controversial, but most of it is informative, and he's lost a lot of weight doing low carb, so he knows what we are all going through. |
