| I was wondering if any of you eat either low carb bread or regular whole wheat bread! I have found the low carb bread tough to chew and that it has the same or just about the same, amount of carbs in it as regular whole wheat bread has in it. So whats the difference if whole wheat has the same amount of carbs as low carb does? Why can't we just eat the whole wheat instead, it does taste better.. |

| If your net carbs are the same, and the bread isn't made with sugar, then go for it. I found some whole wheat sugar free bread at WalMart that had 9 net carbs per slice - way too much for me now, but perhaps someone on maintenance can have an occasional slice. (Forgot the brand!) I found that even low carb bread could kick in carb cravings, and I couldn't stop at just one or 2 slices, so it's a definite no-no for me, but others find they can handle it ok.

| Nita, thats what it is whole wheat sugar free. I am off maintance now but still keeping my carbs at no more than 25-30 aday. I can lose weight on that but not if I go higher than that right now because i cannot do much exercise yet to burn up calories. I just like a piece of toast every now and then thats all. I do not eat bread everyday. When I do it it I always make sure to count the rest of my carbs for the day and not go over my limited amount. Sometimes when I eat toast I cut back somplace else like eat a smaller salad or smaller portion of my meal. I always try to balance out my carbs so I do get in most my veggies and meats in though. I think I have been planning my meals very well and have had not complications with my low carb at all. |
